Keeper Consists Of Tab Or Strip Struck From Cap Skirt Patents (Class 215/336)
  • Patent number: 8807360
Abstract: A tamper-evident package with pressurized contents which includes a closure and associated container which cooperate to provide desired tamper-evidence upon initial removal of the closure from the container, while promoting convenient and comfortable removal and use by consumers.

  • Patent number: 7347302
Abstract: An adaptor (100) for insertion into a housing (900) has a gap (105) at least one tab (101) having a stop (401). The housing (900) has an adaptor seat (703), a tang (705) having a stop (707), and at least one slot (709) designed to receive the at least one tab (101). Once the tab (101) is inserted into the slot (709), the adaptor (100) is rotated in the housing (900) such that the adaptor seat (703) rotates in the gap (105). When the stop (707) of the tang (705) meets the stop (401) of the tab (101), the adaptor (100) is prevented from further rotation, thus providing a unique orientation between the adaptor (100) and the housing (900).

  • Patent number: 5950851
Abstract: A safety closure including a top wall having a first diameter, an outer cylindrical shell depending downwardly from the top wall first diameter, an inner cylindrical shell depending downwardly from a second diameter of the top wall, and a retaining flange projecting inwardly and downwardly from a lower edge of said inner shell opposite said top wall. The inner shell second diameter is less than the top wall outer diameter, and the inner shell is coaxial with the outer shell. The retaining flange is engageable with an underside surface of a locking bead provided on an external surface of the container neck, thereby maintaining a constant downwardly-directed axial force being imposed on the safety closure, which results in a constant upwardly-directed radial force being imposed on the sealing gasket by an upper terminal lip of the container neck.

  • Patent number: 5815586
Abstract: A closure for a medication container includes a recorder supported by the closure for recording and playing back a patient's instructions for taking the medication. The recorder includes a microphone, a speaker, a storage means, a play button, and a recessed record button. A liner is also provided and is releasably engaged with the closure such that a barrier is formed between the closure and the medication container. The closure also has a tab extending from its periphery. The tab has an aperture extending through it. A strap dimensioned to pass through the aperture is provided and has a tang with one end engageable with the tab to retain the strap in the aperture. The strap extends generally adjacent to the container when retained in the aperture and can be attached to the medication container by an adhesive strip thereby preventing complete separation of the closure from the container.

  • Patent number: 5374557
Abstract: A closure device for fermentation test tubes or flasks (vessels) comprises a cylindrical cap which is either molded integrally with the vessel as one piece or is molded separately and is snugly fitted over the neck of the vessel, in a fashion which not only allows for free gaseous flow between the contents of the vessel and the ambient atmosphere but also facilitates easy access to the contents of the vessel without having to detach the closure from the vessel. Particular features of the cover permit manipulation with the fingers of the hand holding the vessel.

  • Patent number: 4930647
Abstract: A thermoplastic closure comprises an annular tamper band connected to the skirt of a cap by frangible bridges. In one embodiment of the closure, axially extending ratchet teeth on the bottom of the tamper band cooperate with axially extending lugs on a container shoulder or transfer bead. As the cap is screwed onto the container, the teeth ratchet over the lugs. When an attempt is made to unscrew the cap, the ratchet teeth engage the lugs to prevent rotation of the tamper band so that continued application of an unscrewing force to the cap results in fracturing of the bridges along the intersection of reduced cross-section between the bridges and the skirt. The axial length of the engaging surfaces of the ratchet teeth and lugs is sufficient that they remain axially aligned through any initial axial separation of the cap and transfer bead until the ratchet teeth and lugs engage.
