Abstract: A stoma-prolapse prosthesis includes a single plastic piece configured as two flexible open rings with spokes tied together at their centers by a central stem. When in place for use, one of the two flexible open rings is collapsed between the fingers and inserted inside the stoma and pushed through to the interior of the abdominal wall. The central stem is sized to be just long enough to match the thickness of the abdominal wall around the stoma. The other of the two flexible open rings self-locks around the perimeter of the stoma on the outside skin surface. The inside one of the two flexible open rings takes up the tissue slack caused by the prolapse, and the spokes inside block the bowel tissues from pushing through.

  • Patent number: 8936168
Abstract: Closing element for sealing holes subjected to internal pressure includes a hollow cylindrical main body insertable into the hole substantially without play, and a hat-like spreading element pressable into the main body. The spreading element applies radial pressure to the inner wall of the main body in the installed state, wherein the main body is spread and pressed against the wall of the hole. The main body has a closing bottom having a circumferential radial ring surface and a slightly conical cone surface connected thereto. During operation, the closing bottom is pressed against the end face of the spreading element by the internal pressure and is bent over inner and outer edges of the end face and deformed so as to expand radially. This results in strengthened anchoring of the closure in the material of the component, and self-reinforcement of the press-out force required to remove the closure.

Abstract: By achieving an extruded, foamed core formed from plastic material peripherally surrounded and integrally bonded with a cooperating synthetic, plastic, extruded, outer layer, a unique, multi-component, multi-layer synthetic closure is provided which may be employed as a bottle closure or stopper for any desired product, whether the product is a liquid, a viscous material, or a solid distributed in a bottle or container and dispensed through the open portal of the container neck. The present invention achieves a mass producible, resilient, synthetic bottle closure which is employable for any desired bottle, including wine. By employing the present invention, a multi-component or multi-layer synthetic closure is attained which possesses physical properties substantially equal to or better than the physical properties found in cork material, which has caused such cork material to be the principal closure material for wine bottles.

Abstract: A decorating glass vessel is disclosed. In particular, It relates to a spherical shape decorating vessel filled with water. The glass vessel is disposed with an opening which has extended with a circular wall upward to a preset height. A soft cover can be inserted into the circular wall such that a frictional engagement is attained between the circular wall and the cover. The water facing surface of the cover is provided with an elevated surface. The other portion of the water facing surface except the elevated surface is provided with at least one thinner portion with thinner thickness. The thinner portion can be readily deformed to absorb the increased hydraulic pressure resulted from temperature gradient. Consequently, the water or air leakage resulted therefrom can be therefore avoided.

Abstract: An improved hydrometer collar for use within lead-acid storage batteries of the type installed within vehicles includes a cylindrically-shaped member having an annular side wall. A plurality of sealing rings are formed upon the outer surface of the annular side wall. Each one of the plurality of sealing rings is spaced axially apart from each other in a substantially parallel relationship so as to form annular grooves therebetween. A small wiping rib is formed integrally with each one of the plurality of sealing rings and extends radially outwardly therefrom. Each one of the wiping ribs is disposed substantially intermediate an upper surface and a lower surface of a corresponding one of the plurality of sealing rings. The wiping ribs are easily deformable so as to fill any imperfections existing upon the interior surface of a battery casing bore of the storage battery into which the collar is inserted thereby creating a fluid-tight seal therewith.
