Abstract: A barrel includes a non-wooden body having a sidewall defining an interior and terminating at a first open end. A flange extends from and about the sidewall adjacent the first end. A first head assembly includes a wooden head removably secured to the body at the first open end to seal the first open end. A first head retainer includes a top wall and a skirt wall extending therefrom and terminating in a securement structure projecting outwardly from the skirt wall. The top wall and skirt wall define a space to receive the first wooden head therein. A plurality of fasteners extends between the securement structure and the flange for securing the first head to the first end to cover the first open end.
