  • Patent number: 11545322
Abstract: A gas circuit breaker includes a trigger electrode which is arranged to be movable between a first arc contactor and a second arc contactor, a compression chamber for pressurizing arc-extinguishing gas, the compression chamber being formed by a cylinder which has an outer wall and an inner wall, each being formed in a cylindrical shape, and which is provided to the second arc contactor, and a piston that slides between the outer wall and the inner wall in conjunction with the trigger electrode, and an insulation nozzle that guides the arc-extinguishing gas pressurized in the compression chamber to an arc ignited between the first arc contactor and the second arc contactor. The insulation nozzle is supported by the inner wall of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 10727013
Abstract: A gas-insulated low- or medium-voltage switch for system voltages within 1 to 52 kV and for up to 2000 A rated current includes first and second contacts being movable in relation to each other along an axis of the switch and defining a quenching region in which an arc is formed during a current breaking operation; and an arc-extinguishing system for extinguishing the arc during the current breaking operation. The arc-extinguishing system may include a pressurization system with a puffer chamber, and a nozzle system connecting the pressurization system with the quenching region, the nozzle system having a nozzle at its outlet for blowing the pressurized quenching gas onto the arc formed in the quenching region during the current breaking operation; and a swirling device configured for generating a subsonic swirl flow of a quenching gas onto the quenching region during the current breaking operation, wherein the swirling device is arranged at an entrance of the nozzle system.

  • Patent number: 8115133
Abstract: A gas-insulated circuit breaker has a sealed container filled with gas; a pair of contacts so constructed as to be connected and separated each other in the sealed container; gas flow generation means for blasting the gas on an arc generated when the contacts are separated, the gas flow generation means including: an accumulation space, pressure increasing means for increasing the pressure of the pressure accumulation space, a gas passage connecting the pressure accumulation space to the arc, and an insulating nozzle that controls the flow of the gas from the pressure accumulation space to the arc; an inside-nozzle insulating member disposed co-axially with the insulating nozzle. The arc is generated in a space between an inner wall section of the insulating nozzle and an outer wall section of the inside-nozzle insulating member, and the gas flows in the space.
