Abstract: This invention relates to an opening and closing apparatus for a door of a microwave oven which has lighting lamps. The door of the microwave oven is devised to have a predetermined time until it is opened in a course of power transmission by a driving motor by which the door is opened and closed. The driving motor rotates a driving gear and the driving gear makes an opening and closing lever move linearly. Accordingly the door which is locked with the main body of microwave oven can be opened by the linear motion of the opening and closing lever. Therefore, the door is opened after a predetermined time is passed by the fact that the power transmission from driving motor is delivered to the opening and closing lever through the driving gear so that the remaining light by the lighting lamps can be completely removed. This can prevent the user's eye being damaged by the remaining light and improve the value in use for the microwave oven with lighting lamps.

  • Patent number: 5777301
Abstract: In a relay driving apparatus and method for a microwave oven, a high relay driving voltage is applied at an initial relay driving time to reduce the operating time deviation between relay parts and the high relay driving voltage is lowered to a normal relay driving voltage through a damp resistance if contact points of a relay switch are coupled, thereby implementing a fix crossing. Therefore, rush current is minimized during relay operation, thereby preventing the fixation of the contact points of a relay switch and the generation of noises due to vibration.

  • Patent number: 5616270
Abstract: A microwave oven includes a cooking chamber closed by a door. The magnetron is operated by a control mechanism which includes a circuit board and safety switches which permit the magnetron to be operated only when the door is closed. The opening and closing of the door causes a switch-actuating mechanism to be operated for turning the safety switches on or off. The safety switches, together with a lamp for illuminating the cooking chamber, are mounted on the circuit board. The circuit board is arranged horizontally, with the switches and lamp being mounted on a bottom surface thereof.

  • Patent number: 5512735
Abstract: To improve the safety of the interlocking switch circuit comprising a monitor switch, primary switch and secondary switch which are on/off by the opening and closing of the electronic range door in order to control the operation/nonoperation of the microwave generation device of the electronic range. The above switches are taken as relay contact points respectively, so as to be able to operate the on/off of each switch from outside. By this, the detection jig is decreased, the detection time period is also shortened and a cause of the safety decreases due to the increase of the efficiency removed. In addition, the switch which turns the on/off of the microwave generation device of the electronic range is adapted to increase the safety of the interlocking switch circuit by being arranged independently.

Abstract: System and method for interrupting the delivery of microwave power to a microwave cavity when a door to the cavity is opened and an interlock switch fails to operate. A switch actuated by movement of the door applies an overload current to an overload protector in the filament circuit of the generator which supplies microwave power to the cavity, thereby interrupting the filament current and shutting down the generator.

Abstract: A partitioning plate having a configuration which can be inserted into a double wall vacuum container from an opening of vacuum container divides the space of the vacuum container into two spaces. One of the spaces which serves as a heating chamber, is opened and closed by a door. The other space, which serves as a mechanical chamber, accommodates electrical parts. A method for fixing the partitioning plate, on which parts have been installed, to the double vacuum container is faciliated by the provision of a device for regulating the position of the partitioning plate.
