  • Patent number: 6991274
Abstract: The multipurpose spreader attachment includes in a first preferred embodiment projections on an underside that define sockets to be engaged with complimentary bosses located on the upper surface of a cargo cage. A latching mechanism is provided to effect a locked arrangement between the spreader and the cargo cage to couple to the cargo cage reliably and securely. The cargo cage is adapted to accommodate both the heavy lifting equipment as well as the pallets of goods to be unloaded, such that the need to change riggings for moving the fork lift and moving the cargo is eliminated. Moreover, the multipurpose spreader is equipped with cables that preferably include actuable hooks that suspend from the spreader and can be opened and closed via an actuator on the spreader. The hooks are adapted to cooperate with connectors such as rings on the preslung pallets, allowing the crane and multipurpose spreader to lift the preslung pallets in addition to the cargo cages.

  • Patent number: 6953125
Abstract: The shock-absorbing wall structure can be used to equip transport containers which may suffer major falls, generating very high energy on impact. It is chiefly made up of several layers of a cellular bearing structure (7, 7N, 7N+1 . . . ) in which some metal blocks are regularly placed. These blocks are positioned in staggered manner from one layer to another, so as to leave regular spaces in which they can expand in the event of impact. Particular application to transport containers such as fuel rods from nuclear plants or so-called type C containers (Transport Regulations for Hazardous Materials—Edition 96—IAEA Document, Vienna).

Abstract: The invention relates to a container with a pneumatically driven locking mechanism and more specifically a container. One disadvantage of conventional containers is that when they are stacked on top of each other, it is not possible to raise and transport several of such containers at the same time. Another disadvantage is that stacked containers have hitherto needed to be locked manually, resulting in a considerable safety risk for dock workers and ship workers. The aim of the invention is to provide a container which is fitted in such a way that it can be locked with other similar containers without the need for manual activity and enable several stacked containers to be transported simultaneously. This is achieved by providing the container with corners having pneumatically driven, rotatable and displaceable locking devices arranged therein.

  • Patent number: 6675540
Abstract: A robust portable building for use by persons for meetings, classroom use, entertainment facilities, trade show displays, or for human habitation, which provides an entry height of only seventeen inches above ground surface and which has the look, feel, and strength of a permanent structure. The building will withstand tornadic and hurricane level winds without the requirement of tie downs or permanent installation on a foundation. The structural members of the building are primarily steel components. A rigid steel frame is supported on pairs of steel rollers each of which has a diameter which is approximately equal in size to its surface width. All structural components are screwed or welded at their junctions with other structural components. A sheet of aluminum is mechanically fixed to the upper sides of the floor joists, over which are placed additional flooring layers. Each layer is fastened securely to the floor joists.
