Abstract: A package having a lid seated on a base where the edge of the seated lid is generally inaccessible, and where the edge is made accessible by a movement of a tamper-evident tab. The base and lid are configured so that opening of the tamper-evident tab locks the tab in the opened position. The inner edge of the tamper-evident tab is joined to the base by a hinge. The tamper-evident tab includes a protrusion that extends inwardly beyond the hinge. The lid includes a retention feature overlying the tamper-evident tab. The protrusion interacts with the retention feature to provide an audible indication when the tamper-evident tab is opened and to retain the tamper-evident tab in the opened position. The protrusion may be configured to lift the lid when the tamper-evident tab is in the opened position.

Abstract: A container has a lid that is removably attachable to the container and configured to cover an opening of the container when attached to the container. The lid has a body with a top that extends away from the container when the lid covers the opening of the container, and a bottom which is opposite the top. The body has an arm with an actuator portion and an extension. The actuator portion is configured to move the arm between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the body. When the arm is in the retracted position relative to the body, the extension is at first distance from the top of the body. When the arm is in the extended position relative to the body, the extension is at a second distance from the top of the body which is greater than the first distance.

Abstract: A box includes a base and a cover which is removably mounted to the base. The base includes a first room defined therein, and a connection strip extends from the periphery of the top opening of the base. A knob is formed on the connection strip. The cover includes a skirt extending from the periphery thereof so as to form a second room between the skirt and the cover. The skirt includes a U-shaped recess formed in the outside thereof such that the knob can be engaged with the U-shaped recess. The U-shaped recess includes a U-shaped inside wall formed between two outwardly projecting reinforcement ribs on the outside of the skirt to easily accommodate the knob therebetween.

Abstract: An airtight container has a lid which is easily opened by the principle of the lever thus preventing broth from splashing out when the lid is opened. The airtight container includes a container body having a latching bump and a bent flange, a rotating knob connected to the flange and having an opening-closing plate and a step portion, and a lid having a latching protrusion, a downwardly bent flange and a lid extension portion, wherein, when the rotating knob is just rotated upward in a state where the lid is coupled to the container body, the opening-closing plate lifts the lid extension portion by “the principle of the lever” while the step portion prevents the lid extension portion from spreading outwards, thereby allowing the latching protrusion to be released from the latching bump and the lid to be opened from the container body.

Abstract: A container assembly includes a container body having a side wall encircling an axis, and a metal end for attachment to an upper edge of the side wall via heat-sealing. The outer peripheral region is shaped prior to application to the container body such that an annular channel is defined between an inner chuck wall and an outer chuck wall of the metal end. The metal end is pushed straight onto the side wall such that the upper edge of the side wall is received into the channel. The surfaces of the side wall and the opposing surfaces of the chuck walls have heat-sealable material thereon. The metal end is heated to melt and fuse the heat-sealable layers, thereby sealing the metal end onto the side wall. The metal end is shaped such that the free edge of the outer chuck wall is not exposed.

Abstract: A forcing-off device of an, in particular, explosion-proof or flameproof container for electronic devices, the container including at least one base body having an opening surrounded by an opening edge and a cover part that can be placed onto or inserted into the opening edge. A forcing-off shoulder is formed on the base body or cover part at least in a section in circumferential direction of the container. The forcing-off shoulder is part of a shoulder running around the opening edge, and at least one forcing-off part is rotatably mounted in a lateral recess of the cover part or on the base body in an eccentric fashion between a forcing-off position and a passive position. The forcing-off part is an eccentric disc and in the forcing-off position is in abutment with the forcing-off shoulder for the gap-forming spacing of cover part and base body.

Abstract: A beverage can with an integral tab lifter includes a cylindrical can body with a tab-style pop-top opening along an upper surface. A tab lifting flange feature is located along a bottom edge of the can body. The tab of another pop-top beverage can is opened by lifting upwardly on a tab by utilizing the tab lifting flange of a beverage positioned above the lifting tab. The tab lifting flange is an inwardly-protruding lip which extends over a short plane parallel to the lower surface of the beverage can. To open the can, the tab lifting flange of a first can is placed upon the top surface of a second can. The first can is motioned such that the tab lifting flange captures and lifts the tab and opens the second can. In this manner, each can acts as a tab-opener for other cans.

Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to a sealing unit such a fuel tank cap for a tank unit of a motor vehicle. The sealing unit includes a cover element that can be arranged on or at least partially in an opening of a tank component of the motor vehicle such that it seals the opening of the tank component in an at least fluid-tight fashion. An actuator is arranged on an outer side of the cover element that faces away from the opening. In a non-actuated, normal position rests, flat against the outer side of the cover element. The actuator can be transferred into a gripping position, in which it at least partially extends oblique or transverse to the outer side of the cover element.

The container further comprises a rim and a locking rib which projects from a free end of the rim, and the closure comprises a top wall and a skirt having a closure flange which projects from a free end of the closure wall for snap engagement under the locking rib when the closure is inserted into the container opening. The present invention ensures that a strong seal is maintained between the closure and the container so that the container can be opened and closed frequently without leakages between the container and the closure.

Abstract: A closure is shown for closing an opening of a vessel. The closure includes a stopper, a shield, and a pusher. The stopper seats at least partially within the vessel opening. The shield includes a recess configured to receive the stopper and at least partially defined by the inner surface of a skirt. The skirt is positioned outside the generally cylindrical neck of the vessel when the stopper is seated in the vessel opening. The pusher extends into the recess of the shield. The pusher is configured to push the stopper out of the opening when the shield is withdrawn axially, as when removing the closure from the opening. A method of assembling a closure is also shown, in which the pusher is positioned to push the stopper out of the opening when the shield is withdrawn axially from the vessel opening.

The degree of doming can accommodate any variance between the dimensions of the disc (50) and that of the reformed base (10) of the can (1). One or more drainage ports may be provided on the periphery of the resilient disc (50) so that any liquid trapped between the surfaces of the base (10) and the resilient disc (50) may drain.

The closure also includes a latch and a hinge connected to the latch. The latch includes an actuator extending from the connection location and a follower portion extending from the connection location. The follower portion of the latch includes a blocking structure. Movement of actuator causes movement of blocking structure. The latch is movable between a first position in which the blocking structure is positioned in contact with the lip and a second position in which the blocking structure is spaced from the lip.

Abstract: An easy open end for a pressurized food container, having an end panel and a conventional aperture score, surrounding the periphery of an aperture through which the contents of the container may be dispensed. A tab is provided to facilitate easy opening of the aperture. The easy open end also includes a vent score, which is arranged to rupture before the main aperture score, to vent the internal pressure in the container, before the container is opened. The end panel and/or tab also defines a shield to prevent the egress of product from the vent opening, when the vent score is severed.

According to the invention, the tongue-like element (8) engages with the container edge (2) from behind with part of said tongue-like element which can be guided outwards by the pivoting movement to a position in front of the container wall (2) and the part of said tongue-like element is prevented from being guided behind the container edge (2) when the tongue-like element (8) pivots back in the direction of the initial position.

Abstract: A system for providing an infusion chamber provides a clip assembly for attachment within a drinking vessel. A box assembly contains an infusion chamber and may be attached to the clip assembly. The box assembly has a top swinging lid to accept dry ice and other materials suitable for infusion. The bottom of the box assembly features a communication void or slot at the bottom of the box to allow the contents of the box assembly to mix with the surrounding drink, but yet not fall loose into the drink. The clip features contoured adhesive wedges to assist in attachment of the clip to the inside portions of a drinking container. The clip assembly has a thin stop tab or shelf that fits into the box assembly. A side hook from the box assembly is supported by the lower portion of the stop tab or shelf of the clip assembly. The upper or top side of the stop tab or shelf is trapped by a stop tab of the box assembly.

Abstract: A container (2) and closure (4) arrangement where the container includes a closure displacement lever (16) to assist a user with removal of the closure. The lever is pivotally connected to the container at one end (20) and the other end (18) is free for manipulation by a user. In use, a skirt of the closure sits over part of the lever, so that movement of the free end of the lever in a direction away from the container exerts a force on the skirt to facilitate removal of the closure from the container.

Abstract: A material delivery system is disclosed which is particularly useful for filtered environments, such as clean rooms, minienvironments, or the like. In one embodiment, the material delivery system is disposed below a work area in a clean room-like environment to store parts to be used at the work area. In another embodiment, the material delivery system includes a material delivery elevator for transporting parts to a desired elevational level. In yet another embodiment, the material delivery system includes a cover which is detachably interconnected with a body to define an enclosed material storage area. An assembly is provided to lock the cover down onto the body with a gasket therebetween to appropriately seal this interconnection. This same assembly lifts the cover up and away from the body so as to not damage this gasket.

Abstract: A package having two halves that are connected by a hinge. The hinge allows the halves to be folded against each other about a device and held in this position by snap/indentation pairs. A folded tab on one half rests against a detent on the other half. Pushing down on the folded tab causes the tab to straighten out and thereby push against the detent, eventually overcoming the frictional force of the snap/indentation pair closest to the tab and pushing the halves apart an amount sufficient to remove the device.

Abstract: A lid assembly is provided for a pail which is characterized by a receptacle portion that is closed of by a secondary lid. The receptacle portion is provided for storing and displaying items related to the contents of the pail, e.g., small tools or instructions. The lid assembly may also have a pouring spout, either within or outside of the receptacle portion, so that the contents of the pail may be emptied without removing the entire lid assembly.

Abstract: A child-resistant container closure constructed according to the present invention comprises a disk shaped cover plate attached to body section formed as a substantially cylindrical wall. A movable handle or tab is attached to the cover plate to aid a user in pulling the closure from a container in which the closure is installed. A well or recess is provided in cover plate to house the handle in a closed position. A ridge on the end of the handle cooperates with a mating ridge in the wall of the recess to retain the handle in a closed position. A resilient spring is provided in the recess so that when the handle is released from the recess, it is urged into a position in which it may be conveniently gripped by a user. An undercut groove or notch is provided on the outside surface of the cylindrical wall adjacent the cover plate. The notch engages a mating lip or ridge extending inward from the inner surface of the mouth of the product container to secure the closure to the product container.

Abstract: A drinking spout and cover apparatus affixes to the top of drink cans forming a seal therewith. The user is thus protected from scores on the top of the can. A skirt portion of the cover can be used as a lever to open the tab opening of such drink cans.

Abstract: Gabions are constructed of welded wire gridworks comprised of integrally joined planar panels disposed in angle relationship to one another. The gridworks are secured together to define a three-dimensional volume therebetween. In one embodiment the gabions are provided with soil reinforcing mats secured thereto to define a bottom for the three-dimensional volume. The mats extend laterally from the gabions and, when the gabions are assembled in tiers at the face of an earthen formation, serve as soil reinforcements for the formation.

The collar may be provided with a jacking screw 39 to assist removal from interlock with the double seam 3 and progressive removal is facilitated by a radial slit or line of weakness at which the collar first parts from the can.

Abstract: This invention is an easy open device for a container which is made up of a closure block which is positioned contiguous to and under a lid of a container, where a substantial portion of the closure block is beneath an aperture in the lid of the container and an opening actuator which is placed on top of or in and at least temporarily adhered to the closure block so that a substantial portion of the opening actuator is beneath the aperture in the lid of the container, and where a pull tab of the opening actuator protrudes through a second aperture in the lid of the container and which may be fastened in some suitable manner to the lid of the container.

Abstract: A device for removing a flexible cap from the end of a cylindrical neck over which it is fitted includes an ejector element constrained to move in a circumferential track one side of which track is formed by the lip of the cap. The ejector element is shaped such that movement thereof along the track will force the element against the lip of the cap, displacing it and rendering it readily removable.The device can usefully be incorporated into containers such as storage jars, bottles and paint containers, or into pipe ends.

Abstract: A removable closure for the top of a can having, at its top, a lid and a raised bead surrounding the lid, the lid being arranged to have a dispensing opening created therein, the closure including: a plate having an opening, a pouring spout aligned with the opening and projecting from one side of the plate, and elements for clamping the plate to the raised bead of such can; and a sealing unit carried by the plate at the side opposite the one side, the sealing unit including a first sealing element positioned to sealingly engage the entire periphery of the can lid, and a second sealing element enclosed by the first sealing element and positioned to sealingly engage the lid around the dispensing opening, when the plate is clamped to the raised bead of the can.

Abstract: A child proof medicine vial is provided having a bead for mating in a recess in a flange in the cap whereby the cap is tightly secured to the vial. The cap is provided with a recess and complimentary slots and inner chamber whereby a panel may be slidable into and out of the cap. When the panel is fully inserted in the cap, there are no projections on the cap for facilitating removal of the cap from the vial. When fully retracted from the cap, the panel permits the user to raise the cap thus permitting access to the vial. When fully retracted, the panel may have indicia to the effect that the vial is nonchild proof.

Abstract: A solid core plug formed from wood, plastic, or a composite molded wood material having a substantially cylindrical shape with a body portion and an integral tapered forward portion. The core plug may include a single, tapered ridge element on the outer surface of the body portion for accomodating cores having varying internal diameters within a given nominal size; a core plug removal opening located at its outer surface for increased strength; and, an integral ramp surface and recessed area in the end thereof for accomodating a curved bar removal tool.

Abstract: A removable end cap closure member or welsh plug for bearing units is disclosed including a frangible knockout plug adapted to be broken out of the closure member with an impact tool to provide an aperture allowing removal of the closure member with a tool. In the preferred embodiment, the plug remains attached to the closure member by a bendable connecting neck which prevents lodging of the plug in the bearing unit.Also disclosed is a bearing assembly including the removable end cap closure member as well as a method for removing the closure member including pressing the knockout plug with a tool to provide an aperture in the closure member and prying and bending the closure member away from the bearing unit with a tool inserted in the aperture. A fixture for supporting a trolley wheel and trolley bracket assembly during installation and removal of an end cap closure member to and from such an assembly is also disclosed.

Abstract: In a retractable pourer assembly associated with a receptacle, of the type comprising an annular base clipped in the opening of the receptacle, a tubular pourer sliding with respect to the base which bears a bead for limiting its outward stroke while its lower part is provided with a bead cooperating with the base in its emerged position, a stopper presenting a thread adapted to be screwed on the free end of the pourer and which is provided with a second skirt surrounding the one bearing the thread, said second skirt being provided with two diametrically opposite rings clipping beneath the bead on the base, and two half-rings associated with the periphery of said second skirt, each ring being connected to the periphery of the second skirt of the stopper on the one hand by at least one bridge and on the other hand by two parallel, opposite lugs constituting pivots and beyond which the two ends of the half-ring project to form disengagement lever.
