Vent In Closure Patents (Class 220/367.1)
  • Patent number: 7614522
Abstract: A container structure includes a lid and a holder. The lid has a through hole having air-permeable troughs having inner and outer openings. The inner and outer openings of adjacent air-permeable troughs are in opposite directions. An elastic plug is fitted within the through holes, and an air-permeable passageway is formed. By providing the air-permeable passageway, high-temperature circular vapors are regulated and vented. Thus, the lid is prevented from being blown open by the vapors. Clip-on pieces and lower ribs are provided on a sealing portion of the lid. Upward bending portions and upper ribs are provided on a marginal frame portion of the holder. The lid is securely fitted onto the holder by mutual restriction of the lower and upper ribs. Pressing the clip-on pieces down will deform the sealing portions, and will free the lower ribs from the restriction of the upper ribs to open the lid quickly.

Abstract: Disclosed is a receptacle with a lid. When the lid is press-fitted into a receptacle body, the packing that which protrudes outward from a rim section of the lid moves down along an inner wall of a receptacle body while varying internal pressure of the receptacle, thereby preventing the lid from being unintentionally separated from the receptacle body. The packing installed at the rim of the lid is integrally formed with the lid through an insert molding process. In a conventional lid structure, a packing having a wing section protrudes from a rim of the lid in a state in which the wing section is spaced apart from the lid, so that an additional coupling device is necessary to couple the packing to the lid. Due to the coupling device, productivity is lowered and quality of the product deteriorates.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a fastening structure having a fastening flange extended outward from the periphery of a cover, and the fastening flange has a latch portion under the fastening flange for latching and fixing the cover; and a hinge portion for connecting the fastening flange at the periphery of the cover, and the hinge portion has a plurality of sections of crevices for reducing a hinge area that connects the fastening flange to the cover. The invention also discloses a sealed box that includes the fastening structure, and a container having a latch structure disposed at a top edge of the container and used together with the latch portion for latching and fixing the cover. Without changing the thickness of the hinge portion, the invention can save efforts for the operation of the sealed box while maintaining the stress of the hinge portion.

  • Patent number: 7360671
Abstract: A liquid reservoir comprising a container (20) forming a chamber for holding the liquid (27). The container has a top wall (23) that closes the upper end of the chamber, a liquid outlet (35) in fluid communication with a lower en d of the chamber, and an air supply duct (47) through which air can enter the lower end of the chamber. In use, the reservoir finds an equilibrium position in which, due to a reduction in pressure in an air space (29) formed above the liquid (27) at the closed, upper end of the chamber, the column of liquid in the chamber is supported by atmospheric pressure acting at the opening of the air supply duct (47) to the lower end of the chamber. This opening is achieved by breaking a frangible seal (32) across the duct (47) by the axial insertion of the liquid outlet (35). While the seal was unbroken the container offered a self-contained capsule of liquid for replacement fitting with the liquid outlet portion.

  • Patent number: 7328820
Abstract: A vented closure for a liquid container which will not freely pour includes a cap hinged at one side and movable between open and closed positions relative to a base collar. In an open position, a primary fluid passageway extends through a shaped mouthpiece which is elongated and tapered to conform to a user's mouth. One or more air vents of small size are located in a protected floor of the base collar at positions spaced within predetermined ranges of offsets from the dispensing opening so as to convey liquid into contact with the air vents in a manner to self-seal the air vents by surface tension of the liquid until an unbalance force is present. The cap and collar mate along an offset diagonal edge, and a grip area for the user's thumb or finger is offset from a center line. The offsets cause the cap to flip open with additional clearance and without obstructing a user's nose.

Abstract: A vented closure for a liquid container which will not freely pour includes a cap movable between open and closed positions relative to a base collar. The movable cap can be slidable to form a push-pull type closure, or can be rotatable to form a flip-type closure. In an open position, a primary fluid passageway extends through the closure to one or more dispensing opening. One or more air vents of small size are located in the base collar at positions spaced within predetermined ranges of offsets from the dispensing openings. A divider or barrier is located to create a secondary fluid passageway to convey liquid directly into contact with the air vents which can self-seal by surface tension of the liquid and to convey air bubbles through the liquid when the container is tilted. Overlapping portions of the movable cap can protect the vent apertures and/or the dispensing aperture structure.

  • Patent number: 7204382
Abstract: A hydration system is disclosed for carrying readily dispensable fluids, such as water. A removable cap having an annular valve covers a container. A flexible tube is disposed through the center of the annular valve and extends generally to near the bottom of the container. A bite valve is attached to the end of the tube that is external to the container. When the annular valve is closed, the hydration system is substantially closed, preventing fluid loss. When the annular valve is opened, an air channel is created that allows air to enter the container, facilitating the flow of fluid from the container through the flexible tube. The annular valve may be a poppet-type valve having a valve stem that is movable between the closed position and the open position. The hydration system is sufficiently compact to be utilized with narrow-mouthed bottles.
