  • Patent number: 9079453
Abstract: A container holder includes a base section and a top section. The base section has a base bottom that is configured to rest on a surface. The base section also has a base top which terminates in a circular lip. An area defined by the circular lip is substantially angled with respect to the base bottom. The top section has an opening configured to receive a container and a circular rim for slidably engaging the circular lip of the base section such that the top section is rotatable with respect to base section. A rotatable circular joint is formed between the top section and the base section. The top section is tilted by an amount that changes as the rotatable circular joint is rotated.

  • Patent number: 9033179
Abstract: A cylindrical upstanding water tank is formed from a plurality of rows of corrugated curved panels bolted edge to edge with a liner extending over the cylindrical wall and support surface to contain the water within the tank. An access opening is formed in one panel of the cylindrical wall and includes a frame with a rectangular planar front flange and a rearwardly extending flange welded into the hole. Liner retention straps surround the hole to fasten an edge of the liner around the hole. An access cover plate is bolted to the front flange of the frame and carries a hoop strength plate which fastens to studs at the rear of the plane so that the plates are removable to allow service access to the interior of the tank.

  • Publication number: 20150021263
Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing the apparatus that is used to bind one or more different types of target molecules to a polymer surface that has been treated, and thereby activated, according to the method. A three or four step process to activate the surface is described. After activation, a fifth step immerses the activated surface into a liquid which binds a quantity of the target molecules to the polymer surface by chemical binding and/or by molecularly imprinted polymers and/or by modified carbon nanotubes. The method is used to convert an inert polymer surface into the activated surface. Either ion exchange binding (3 step process) or binding by the use of molecularly imprinted polymers and/or carbon nanotubes (four step process) or both are simultaneously used to provide the apparatus that is capable of binding and thereby extracting a quantity of the target molecules from the liquid.

  • Patent number: 6810567
Abstract: The invention relates to the partial or complete use of a pressurized gas cylinder known per se for compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases as a liner for a composite cylinder. This enables production costs of a composite cylinder to be reduced by ⅓ when compared to the costs arising from the production of a new composite cylinder using current manufacturing technologies.

  • Patent number: 6715243
Abstract: To produce a silo or tank, plates provided with joining flanges are made, both plates and flanges being produced from aluminium alloy. The plates are joined to one another in order to form rings, and said rings are joined to one another in order to form a silo or tank. In order to make the said joins between the shaped plates and between the rings watertight, according to the present invention sealing mastic is applied in a channel formed by two adjoining recesses, each made in the outward-facing free end of one of two flanges engaging on one another.

  • Patent number: 5779091
Abstract: An adapter converts for aircraft use a cargo container whose fork lift acs tubes pass through the container's frame. The adapter has first blocks at ends of the tubes, and wedge portions of the first blocks face on the tubes' insides. Adapter members affix to the first blocks and extend along the container's base. Second, wedge-like blocks at the tubes' ends face against both the tubes' insides and the first blocks. The second blocks move together to lock the first blocks in place. The mechanism to force the second blocks together includes elongate members in the tubes. One end of each elongate member is threaded and passes through one of the second blocks while the other end of the elongate member connects to another second block. Turning a nut on the elongate member forces the one second block toward the other second block.

  • Patent number: 5662240
Abstract: A disposable plate with handles attached to the underside. The handles comprise two loop-shaped members protruding downward from the plate into which the user places thumb and forefinger, thereby obtaining greater control of the plate than is possible with many disposable plates. Also, the handles are spaced sufficiently apart so that the user can carry plate and cup simultaneously in the same hand.

  • Patent number: 5096087
Abstract: A double containment and leak detection apparatus and method including a tank having a bottom and a surrounding shell, with a containment baffle above the bottom and a leak detector in a containment space between the containment baffle and the tank bottom. The containment baffle includes a baffle plate sealingly joined to the interior of the shell to form a sealed containment space between the containment baffle and the bottom. The leak detector is installed in the containment space to detect the presence of stored material held in the tank in the event such material leaks into the containment space. The leak detection means is connected, through a leak-proof access, to means external to the tank for responding to such leaks of stored material so detected inside the containment space. The invention further includes a primary containment, made of liner material, located inside the tank above the containment baffle and within the shell, capable of containing such stored material.

  • Patent number: 5069736
Abstract: In a method of constructing a reinforced pail from an existing pail having a covered top, an annular ring is formed from a top portion of the side wall by removing the top cover and cutting the side wall around a periphery parallel to the top end of the existing pail, thereby forming a modified pail. The annular ring is then slid as a concentric sleeve over the modified pail to a position where it snugly engages and reinforces the modified pail. The ring is then secured to the pail in such position.
