  • Patent number: 11800839
Abstract: This disclosure describes a system for recycling and reusing water from sprinkler systems to water or irrigate a yard or an area of land. The system includes a water reclamation tank that stores water captured from beneath the area of land. When it is time to water the area of land, the sprinkler system draws water from the water reclamation tank. A portion of this water is then recaptured and supplied back to the water reclamation tank for further storage until the next time the sprinkler system is activated. This cyclical process occurs repeatedly and enables a significant reduction in the amount of freshly supplied water used to maintain the area of land.

  • Publication number: 20140291332
Abstract: A liner, a double-walled tank including such a liner, and a method for retrofitting or creating such a liner wherein the liner is designed to be self-supporting. Specifically, the liner is formed by adding structures to the inner surface of an existing single-walled or double walled tank which project from the inner surface of the tank into the internal volume. The combination of the surfaces of the structures and the remaining inner surfaces of the tank form a modified inner surface which then has a liner placed adjacent thereto. The liner is hardened or other fixed in form to provide for an internal liner which retains negatives of the shapes of the structures and is capable of resisting deformation should the original tank be removed and the liner be filled with material that originally would occupy the tank.

  • Patent number: 8752342
Abstract: A wet well design that utilizes recycled material in sectional components to construct wet wells on site is disclosed. Traditional wet well components are made of pre-cast concrete. Green Recycled Material Component Wet Well components are constructed using recycled plastic, recycled steel and recycled Styrofoam. The method described herein for constructing the components and assembling the wet well on site addresses several logistical problems associated with the pre-cast concrete design including reducing project start to completion time, delivery costs, large crane rental costs and power line relocation costs. This design also enables construction of oblong wet wells in medians and other restricted areas as components can be straight or curved sections. Finally, this design eliminates the shifting of traditional cement well components due to uplift from underground water pressure through the use of a new anchoring system. Shifting can result in groundwater intrusion into the well.

Abstract: A rechargeable battery, such as a 12 Volt battery that is recharged by a solar panel, is placed into a container system that includes an enclosure, having a top portion that is open and a bottom portion that is open, that is substantially buried underground. A sleeve, having a bottom portion that is open and a top portion that is closed, is lowered into the enclosure such that air is trapped inside the top portion of the sleeve when water collects against the enclosure. The trapped air prevents flood water from rising high enough to contact terminals of the battery. When flood conditions subside, the water drains out the bottom portion of the container system into the ground. Additionally, a ridge around the bottom of the sleeve makes it easier to insert the sleeve into the enclosure because the ridge slides over the dirt and debris, but the ridge scrapes and removes unwanted dirt and debris from the enclosure whenever the sleeve is removed to access the battery.

Abstract: The Invention is an underground storage tank apparatus and method. A buried underground storage tank has a tank sump and a manway defined by a manhole skirt side wall communicating from the surface of the ground to the tank sump. A sediment trap is disposed annularly within the manway and intercepts water and sediment flowing down the manhole skirt wall. An inside wall of the sediment trap is in an annular spaced-apart relation with a tank sump perimeter watt, which together define an annular space interior volume that receives water that overtops the sediment trap inside wall and which receives liquid that overtops the tank sump perimeter wall.

  • Patent number: 7494024
Abstract: An additional containment system for a fluid containment vessel includes an outer section, an inner section, and a monitoring system. A plurality of independent and distinct zones of interstitial space are positioned between the outer section and the inner section. The monitoring system is connected to and separately monitors a pressure in each of the zones. A divider plate is attached to both the inner section and the outer section and divides a first zone from a second zone. Upon detecting a leak, the monitoring system provides an indication as to the leak being in the outer section or in the inner section, and upon detecting a leak, the monitoring system also provides an indication as to which of the zones the leak is detected.

  • Patent number: 7475791
Abstract: An improved underground water storage tank having a joined-doughnut (multiple-torus) configuration, preferably a double torus although single, triple, quadruple and other toroidal configurations are possible. The concept entails a lateral merger of two or more toroidal tank sections in a multi-compartment double, triple, or greater-toroidal configuration with one or more cylindrical access ports traversing the tank orthogonally at the area of merger or along the perimeter. The tanks may be unitary as formed by rotational-molding or blow-molding. The laterally-joined torus sections increase the structural strength of the tank so that the need for reinforcing ribs or internal supports is substantially eliminated. The strength of the torus-configuration allows the tank to be buried below the frost line, and the elimination of molded ribs avoids trapped fluid or so that nearly all tank capacity can be utilized.
