  • Patent number: 8668110
Abstract: The disclosed device primarily consists of a band, ring, or other piece of shape memory polymer (SMP) or SMP composite in various embodiments that allows or disallows containment. When the SMP reaches its transition temperature (Tg) the SMP provides the means for releasing containment of the pressurized material so as to prevent ignition or explosion of hazardous material. At normal operating temperatures, the SMP is in a deformed shape maintaining an environmental seal to protect the contents of the container. When environmental conditions cause the SMP or SMP composite to exceed its Tg, specified by the operating requirements, the SMP returns to its memory shape in a controlled geometry, rather than simply melting. The return of the SMP to its memory shape causes the venting of the container in different manners depending on which embodiment is utilized.

Abstract: A breather device connects to a vessel. The breather device inlets air to the vessel and filters the air upon inlet via a filter media, and exhausts air from the vessel. The vessel has a pressure that may vary and a low pressure threshold and a high pressure threshold. The breather device includes a housing, a cartridge removable from the housing for containing the filter media, an inlet check valve to the housing, the inlet check valve is selectively biased to prevent flows therethrough unless the pressure in the vessel falls below the low pressure threshold, an outlet check valve from the housing, the outlet check valve is selectively biased to prevent exhaust therethrough unless the pressure in the vessel exceeds the high pressure threshold, and a pressure gauge connected to the housing for measuring internal pressure in the vessel. The breather device can additionally include seals and/or an internal check valve between the filter media and the vessel.

Abstract: A lubricant reservoir refilling system. The system includes a removable reservoir having a tank for receiving lubricant, a refill inlet fluidly communicating with the tank, and a connector. The refilling system also includes a refilling station including a refill housing having a connector configured for releasable connection with the reservoir connector, an inlet on the refill housing adapted for connection to a supply of lubricant, and an outlet on the refill housing positioned for fluid communication with the reservoir refill inlet when the reservoir is connected to the refilling station to allow delivery of lubricant from the refilling station through the reservoir refill inlet to refill the tank. The refill housing connector is functionally identical to a connector on a pump assembly so the reservoir including the tank can be removed from the refilling station and removably connected to the pump.

  • Patent number: 8397942
Abstract: An improved flexible storage container [1000] is sized and shaped to hold and store a specific item, such as a handbag. It employs a front wall [1100], a rear wall [1130], and side walls [1150] which are made of a breathable material. Moisture is allowed to pass in or out of the container to keep moisture equilibrium. Pockets [1113, 1153] inside of the walls [1100, 1130] may be used to hold front and side supports [1115, 1155] to make the storage container [1000] more rigid. A hypoallergenic barrier [1200] which acts as a liner inside of container [1000] employs material having a tight weave with pores 10 microns or smaller to keep out dust, dust mites or other allergenic materials. The storage container [1000] is capable of storing items for long periods of time with little or no change to the item. It also minimizes allergic reactions to those using the items after storage.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a stopper including: an outer cap having an upper surface with a discharge hole and a side extending downward from the outer edge of the upper surface; and an inner cap having a cylindrical body and a protrusion and combined with the outer cap, in which the protrusion has an inclined surface extending upward from the lower edge of the body toward the center and a plurality of inlet/outlet holes formed around the inclined surface, and a container having the stopper. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a stopper that makes it possible to discharge a desired amount of liquid substance by removing slosh generated when the liquid substance is discharged out of a container, and a container having the stopper.

  • Patent number: 8356727
