Abstract: An erectable and collapsible container, said container being transformable from a collapsed configuration to an erected configuration and comprising a plurality of collapsible walls, wherein said sidewalls comprise a polymeric material have: (a) a Flexural Modulus of from about 100 MPa to about 1750 MPa; and (b) preferably a wall thickness of the collapsible walls of from about 1 mil to about 20 mils, except when said polymeric material is polyethylene homopolymer said Flexural Modulus is at least about 275 MPa or said wall thickness is at least about 10 mils.

Abstract: A plastic container/removable lid combination for holding paint or other materials is provided. A bifurcated annular rim is molded at the top end of the container'side wall, the rim comprising outer and inner rim sections that are joined to one another at their bottom ends so as to define an annular locking channel, with the inner rim section extending inwardly of the side wall. The lid is formed with an annular rib having first and second mutually spaced leg sections that are movable toward one another under radial compression far enough to allow the rib to be inserted into the locking channel of the rim so as to releasably lock the lid to the container.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a disposable lid sealed to a disposable container using an adhesive. The present invention also relates to an improved disposable assembly. The assembly has a container and a lid. The container includes a rim and a tongue extending from the rim, and the lid includes a cover and a groove along the peripheral edge of the cover shaped to correspond with the tongue of the container.

Abstract: A device for removably securing an object having a detent to a support. The support includes having a receiver to receive a portion of the perimeter of the object including the detent. The receiver may be cup-shaped. The support further includes a deformable tab disposed which is received by the detent. The tab may be disposed on a prong and the detent may be disposed on the perimeter of a well where the well is shaped to receive the prong. When engaged, the tab couples to said detent to removably secure the object to said support. The support also includes an actuator engaging the deformable tab to decouple the tab from said detent. The support may optionally be coupled to a key chain or a tether. In a second aspect of the invention, the support receives a portion of the perimeter of a cigarette lighter to secure the cigarette lighter from child-tampering and accidental ignition.

Abstract: A tamper-evident container system having a lid fitting over a container and a pull-tab attached to the lid along frangible lines. The pull-tab angles inwardly and upwardly from a peripheral rim of the lid and terminates below the topmost portion of the lid. The pull-tab joins to the adjacent walls of the lid rim along thin integrally formed webs which are easily severed upon displacement of the pull-tab to provide highly visible evidence of tampering. The webs extend from an inner section of the rim and across at least a portion of an upper bridge formed on the rim, further enhancing the visibility of any tampering. The pull-tab forms a small angle with a vertical inner wall of a recess of the lid and extends circumferentially around the inner wall without extending above the rim. A sealing ring formed on the lid below the pull-tab enables the container system to be resealed by the consumer after opening.

Abstract: A container and sealing closure therefor, includes a container body part having an access opening and includes a continuous peripheral wall surrounding the access opening, and a closure part. The wall of the body part has a peripherally extending continuous sealing edge portion at its upper outer surface, the edge portion being coextensive with the wall. The closure part has a resilient skirt portion. The sealing edge portion of the wall of the container part has a sharp apex forming an included angle of substantially 90 degrees. The skirt portion of the closure part is adapted to mate in spaced relation, with the peripheral wall of the container part and has an inner surface which extends obliquely with respect to the peripheral wall of the body part and which is adapted to engage the apex.

Abstract: Package for the packaging of food products composed of two elements, a base (1) and a lid (2), each having a peripheral edge whose respective outlines enable lateral slots (3) to exist in the position of closure of the said lid (2) of the said package having localised closure means in the angular areas (F1) to (F4) of the package and situated in the vicinity of the external edge 10 of one of the elements and cooperating in the said angular areas (F1) to (F4) with the peripheral rim of the other element, characterised in that the said closure means take the form of grooves (11) having, level with the said angular areas (F1) to (F4), an external vertical rim, and then a lower horizontal portion forming a platform (13) directed towards the inside of the package, which is limited in the direction of the centre by a vertical partition (14) connected to the wall (15) of the element in which the said means are formed.

Abstract: A container comprising a main body portion having a top rim, at least one side wall and a bottom wall, and having a tamper evident connection with a lid. The tamper evident connection comprising a channel within a skirt projection outwardly from the side wall below the top rim, a gripping portion of the lid for receiving the top rim and thereby securing the lid to the container. The gripping portion having a distal end to be received within the channel, thereby rendering difficult access to the distal end. The skirt having a breakable and removable portion for facilitating access to the distal end of the gripping portion upon breaking the breakable and removable portion.

Abstract: In a plastic food container including a lid and a base, a latching mechanism includes a first continuous rim along a periphery of the lid and a second continuous rim along a periphery of the base. The first rim includes an inner female member, a central male member, and an outer latching member. The central male member encompasses and is integrally connected to the inner female member, and the outer latching member encompasses and projects laterally outwardly from the central male member. The second rim is adapted to latch with the first rim. The second rim includes an inner male member and an outer female member. The outer female member encompasses and is integrally connected to the inner male member. The outer female member includes an outer peripheral wall forming a plurality of spaced inwardly-projecting tabs.
