  • Patent number: 6260723
Abstract: A package for flowable media and a snap lid which package and snap lid are both made from thermoplastic material, in which a collar-shaped head of the package surrounds a pouring aperture of the package, which collar-shaped head has a retaining ring on its outside, an inside annular surface, and an upper end having an edge with a snap catch, which upper end can be closed using the snap lid. The snap lid has a closing wall from which an annular sealing lip projects towards an inside of the package, and can be brought into contact with an inside surface of the edge in sealing engagement. The closing wall is provided with an outside catch for snap engagement with a snap catch of the edge of the head. The head of the package widens outwards and upwards at its edge, and both the inner surface of this edge and an outer surface of the sealing lip on the snap lid are curved convexly relative to each other. • Patent number: 6138899
Abstract: An inserted lid (1) for a box (2) is formed so that a contact region (5) can be pressed against the inside of the side wall of the box. In the non-inserted state, said side wall is slightly larger than the box opening (4). On insertion of the lid (1) into the box (2), the largest circumferential line of the contact region (5) must fit the inside of the side wall of the box as a result of an elastic deformation of the closure surface (3). To prevent the forces emanating on insertion from the side wall of the box from leading to irreversible deformations, the closure surface (3) has spring properties which are radial with respect to the contact region (5) and permit an elastic deformation of the contact region (5) in the radial direction. To ensure these spring properties, the closure surface (3) has a shape differing from a flat surface, in particular two concentric waves (7) formed constant distances away from the contact region (5) and/or a central vault (8).

  • Patent number: 5636757
Abstract: A device for removing a cork from a bottle opening. This is achieved by a cork retriever. The cork retriever has two components, a sleeve and a plunger. The sleeve is adapted to be driven through the cork member while the plunger is adapted to be driven into the sleeve to thereby lock the sleeve in the cork. The cork can then be removed by way of a pull ring which is positioned at the upper end of the sleeve.

Abstract: A plug is positionable within the recess of the recorder, The plug has a generally trapezoidal shaped interior section with a small rectangular interior region an enlarged exterior region forming a periphery essentially equal in size to the periphery of the recess of the recorder. The interior region is formed with a smaller height and width than that of the exterior region. The interior section also has trapezoidal upper and lower surfaces and trapezoidal side surfaces therebetween. An exterior section is formed as part of the plug. The exterior section has a generally rectangular configuration. The periphery of the exterior member is semicircular in cross section. The interior and exterior member each have a depth.

  • Patent number: 5605241
Abstract: A device for controllably retaining a liquid to prevent spillage when the bottle is tilted or inverted for positioning the bottle to discharge the container's liquid contents into the intended orifice. The hydraulically operated plug forms an air tight seal with the smooth inner surface of the neck of the container, permitting the container to be inverted and positioned over the intended receptacle without releasing any fluid. Upon squeezing the flexible container, the lid is forced from the container by the hydraulic pressure exerted on the inner surface of the lid, permitting the liquid to pour freely from the container into the intended receptacle. A tether attaching the plug to an exterior location on the container allows the plug to fall clear of the stream of flow while preventing the plug from becoming lost.
