Abstract: A plastic container with a snap lid and with a snap element provided on the upper edge area of the container for the lid to snap onto, the lid having an area in tight contact with the container's upper edge area. The container edge on the side of the snap element facing the top edge of the container is provided with at least one integrally molded reinforcing rib projecting radially and extending over at least a segment of the circumference of the container, preferably running circumferentially around the container. The reinforcing rib may be provided on a downward-facing, circumferential collar region, which is joined in the region of the top edge of the container.

Abstract: A combination molded plastic bucket and lid includes a series of outwardly extending ribs on the top edge of the bucket and inwardly extending flanges on a depending outer skirt of the lid which engage with the bucket ribs to provide a wedging action that holds the lid tightly in a sealing position on the top of the bucket. A zig-zag tear strip permits removal of a portion of the lower most lid flange. The top of the bucket includes a groove adapted to receive a projection or tongue seal.

Abstract: A plastic lid for a pail. The lid has a substantially planar central section and a peripheral channel. The channel fits over the pail to effect closure thereof. The central section is spaced from the channel by a groove and a ridge, each of which extend around the lid juxtaposed to the channel, with the groove being adjacent to the channel. The pail is intended for transportation of goods.

Abstract: The rectangular reclosable container assembly includes a rectangular open ended container and a closure member for closing the container. The closure member is depressed to engage the inner surface of the container walls, and the container walls and the depressed wall engaging portions of the closure member are provided with cooperating projecting beads and slots which terminate in spaced relationship to the corners of the container and closure member to vent air at the corners of the assembly. The closure member has a tear away skirt which extends from a bridging section which spaces the skirt from the depressed wall engaging portions of the closure member. An upwardly projecting stacking ridge is formed on the closure member to engage the skirt of like closure members and to receive and retain the sidewalls of the container at the bottom thereof to facilitate stacking.

Abstract: An improved deep wiper closure for open head shipping containers wherein the closure exhibits an upwardly opening channel in the closure structure between a wiper wall and a riser wall, the riser wall connecting the wiper wall with a planar central panel of the closure. Angled ribs, each preferably integrally attached to only one of the walls, are disposed in the channel to provide controlled flexure between the walls under extreme side impact conditions.

Abstract: A can has a flange extending inwardly from its vertical wall and has a downwardly extending lateral wall that defines an opening, and the free lower end of said lateral wall has a first rib therearound of open tubular shape of part of a circle. A lid for fitting into and sealing the can opening has a lateral wall therearound with a second rib at its free upper end to engage the can flange, a central wall portion below the second rib to engage the flange lateral wall that defines the opening, and a recess therearound below the central portion having the shape of part of a circle corresponding to that of the can first rib. The can first rib fits into the recess in an engaging interference fit.

Abstract: A container and sealing closure therefor, includes a container body part having an access opening and includes a continuous peripheral wall surrounding the access opening, and a closure part. The wall of the body part has a peripherally extending continuous sealing edge portion at its upper outer surface, the edge portion being coextensive with the wall. The closure part has a resilient skirt portion. The sealing edge portion of the wall of the container part has a sharp apex forming an included angle of substantially 90 degrees. The skirt portion of the closure part is adapted to mate in spaced relation, with the peripheral wall of the container part and has an inner surface which extends obliquely with respect to the peripheral wall of the body part and which is adapted to engage the apex.

Abstract: An improved connecting mechanism for barrel is provided. The barrel comprises a tubular body which defines a chime and an inner wall. The inner wall of the tubular body is provided with a plurality of fastening device adjacent to the chime of the tubular body. And a bottom which can be fixedly attached to the chime of the tubular body is provided. The peripheral of the bottom is provided with a protecting rim. An annular flange adjacent to the protecting rim is further provided such that a receiving groove is defined between the protecting rim and the annular flange. Wherein when the chime of the tubular body is inserted and retained within the receiving groove of the bottom, a fixedly and firmly engagement and connection between the fastening device and the annular flange is attained.

Abstract: A child resistant lid is disclosed for use in conjunction with the standard build bucket for containment of materials. There is provided a threaded capped access opening of sufficiently small dimension to prevent the passage of a child's head, yet of sufficiently great dimension to allow for access to the material contained within the bucket. In addition, there is provided a handle grasp member and tool grip to aid the user in opening the threaded capped access opening. When it is desired by the user to pour the material directly from the bucket, there is provided a pour spout formed on an outermost peripheral edge of the lid and an air inlet opening formed on the cap member. The lid member of the present invention has provided a permanent locking mechanism to aid the user in permanently attaching the lid member to the lipped edge found on buckets of the type to be used in conjunction with the lid and to further serve as a safety feature.

Abstract: A two-piece plastic container and removable cover is provided which is particularly adaptable for containing flowable products. The removable cover comprises a one-piece molded generally circular cover having an annular sealing projection extending generally downwardly in a perpendicular direction from an outer periphery of the cover and an annular locking projection extending generally upwardly in a perpendicular direction from the outer periphery of the cover. The container comprises a one-piece molded cylindrical body having a closed bottom and an open top. Two spaced concentric annular inside and outside projections extend longitudinally upwardly from the open top of the body of the container and define therebetween a cover sealing cavity for receiving the cover sealing projection and cooperating therewith to seal the cover on the container.

Abstract: The invention provides a container for a sample comprising a hollow body having a base, a side wall and an open end opposite the base, a closure for that body, the closure being arranged to fit to the body to close the open end thereof; and locking means for locking the closure to the body, in such fashion that the contents of the container cannot be removed without it being apparent on subsequent observation of the container. Preferably said closure is provided with a tear-off portion defined thereon by a line of weakness in the material of the closure, removal of the tear-off portion by tearing along said line of weakness allowing removal of the sample from the body.

Abstract: A removeable plastic plug for a container having an annular outlet opening includes a unitary outer annular wall which is arranged with an annular upper lip portion, an annular lower rib portion, and an enclosing body portion which extends between the upper lip portion and the lower rib portion. The enclosing body portion defines a hollow interior which is sealed across by a closing diaphragm arranged in unitary construction with the enclosing body portion. The closing diaphragm includes an upwardly inclined portion to which a pull ring is attached. The outer annular wall further defines an annular receiving channel and a retention bead whereby the edge defining the outlet opening snaps into said annular receiving channel with the retention bead positioned on the underside of the defining edge. The lower rib portion is segmented by three equally spaced inverted V-shaped notches which are centered relative to the pull ring and which are disposed adjacent to the upwardly inclined portion.
