Roller Type Patents (Class 222/101)
  • Patent number: 6196420
Abstract: A pumpless dispenser especially intended for dispensing viscous fluids. The dispenser includes a supple pouch having first and second ends, a sidewall that can be arranged to form first and second opposed surfaces, and an outlet. The pouch contains a viscous fluid food product therein. The dispenser also includes a housing configured and dimensioned for receiving the pouch; and a compression assembly for pressing the pouch so as to urge the viscous fluid food product content toward the outlet. This assembly includes a roller having a pressing surface disposed adjacent the first surface of the pouch and a planar surface disposed adjacent the second surface of the pouch. The dispenser further includes a closure member engaged with the outlet for closing the outlet. This member is capable of opening the outlet so as to cause the roller to move along the pouch surface toward the outlet by gravity for expelling the viscous fluid food product through the outlet.

  • Patent number: 6189740
Abstract: An antiseptic soap dispenser has a dispensing system (28) which includes a pressure actuated platen (32) and a moveable roller (94) for dispensing soap from a replaceable container (12). A dispensing tube (10) with an integral self-sealing valve (40) at a downstream end is connected to a neck (20) of the container. Hand pressure on the platen compresses a upstream end of the dispensing tube between the platen and the roller. With increasing pressure, the roller moves progressively down the tube to dispense soap through the valve. A volume regulator (111) controls the amount of soap dispensed. The platen returns quickly to its at-rest position once the pressure is removed, avoiding complete compression of the pathway by the roller. This minimizes air ingress, and resultant contamination of the soap. Optionally, a filtered vent (14) in a wall (22) of the container allows filtered air to enter the container in place of the soap dispensed.

  • Patent number: 5765724
Abstract: A method for emptying a substantially, completely compressible container filled with a thixotropic paste, for example, a paste-form detergent. The thixotropic paste is transported by compression by a compressive force of the container toward an opening of the container and through that opening into a connected delivery tube. The compressive force is applied to a limited area of the container to deliver the thixotropic paste which is then transported by a metering pump through the delivery tube to a mixing container where it is mixed with inflowing water.

  • Patent number: 5692645
Abstract: In a wall or other vertical surface mounted dispensing apparatus which receives a tube of viscous material has a base which supports a pair of substantially vertical gear tracks for receiving a cylindrical roller which has a plurality of gear teeth about the periphery at each end of the roller for engagement with said gear tracks. The roller is provided with a handle mounted on and axle which is rotatably attached to the roller through end caps which maintain the axle along the central axis of the roller but permit rotation relative to the roller. A cover holds the roller in place by exerting pressure on the cylindrical surface adjacent to the peripheral gears. The axle engages a pair of weights a point offset free the central axis of the weight which cause rotation of the crank arm in the upwards direction when released. A recoil arm mounted on a rectangular section of the axle is displaceable along its longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 5499742
Abstract: A dispenser for supporting a tube of toothpaste in an inverted position and progressively collapsing an end of the tube to dispense toothpaste therefrom. The inventive device includes a holding frame securable to a wall surface which receives and supports the toothpaste. A pair of rack members are pivotally mounted within the holding frame and include a plurality of detents which support a roller proximal to the tube. A handle is mechanically coupled to the racks such that reciprocation of the racks through a movement of the handle will bias the roller into engagement with the tube to dispense the toothpaste. The roller is then gravitationally biased into a lower pair of detents to effect continued compression of the tube.

The end of said tubing is fed through one end of said device until it passes through the opposite end of the device at which point means are available to cut the tubing. The device is fitted with a knurled wheel or roller guided by an inclined track or ramp which upon turning the wheel in one direction causes the tubing to be squeezed or compressed thus allowing blood to be dispensed in a controlled dropwise fashion. In the opposite direction the wheel decompresses the tubing allowing it to be fed through once again in order to repeat the process as desired.

  • Patent number: 4331265
Abstract: The dispenser progressively empties a tube from one end by applying pressure to the other end. The dispenser comprises a support on which the tube rests. A handle is pivotally mounted on the support and has a range of reciprocating movement between first and second pre-determined points for applying an increment of pressure to one end of the tube. A ratchet is connected to the handle and permits the roller to move incrementally forward against the tube exerting pressure thereon during each reciprocation. As the handle moves between the first and second pre-determined points, it moves to an intermediate point defined relative to the point where the handle is pivotally mounted on the support and beyond the point to an over-center position where the roller releases sufficient pressure on the contents of the tube to prevent residual emptying or dripping.
