  • Patent number: 11066259
Abstract: Controlling the dust emissions from the discharge of bulk materials from a container provides many benefits. A container engages a support structure that includes a frame. The frame includes a dust control enclosure coupled to an outlet or a hopper at the top of the frame and the container or a discharge gate of the container. The dust control enclosure comprises a collapsible and flexible material so that a tight seal is formed between the container and the hopper or the outlet of the frame. Dust from the discharged of the bulk material from the container is contained within the support structure. A dust control panel may also be disposed at the top of the frame to prevent any dust from migrating through the frame. The container may comprise a plurality of dust enclosure panels to further prevent the escape of dust during discharge of the bulk material.

  • Patent number: 6637625
Abstract: A continuous operation metering valve, based on true volumetric positive displacement technology, uses an innovative dual rack and drive pinion design that enables the valve to dispense from one meter chamber while the other meter chamber is filling. This provides greater dispense cycle rates because it does not require a fill or reload period. With an optional encoder-controlled motor, the inventive metering valve is capable of almost unlimited precision dispensing with “on-the-fly” adjustment capability. The metering valve is easily disassembled and cleaned, using stainless steel wetted path components and Teflon seals for the widest range of chemical compatibility. An integral electronic board, mounted to the side of the valve, may be utilized to control the 4-way directional valve and motor direction (when not using a rotary encoder control).

  • Patent number: 4865226
Abstract: A method and apparatus for metering and mixing multi-component plastics, in particular polyurethane, in which two or more hydraulic piston and cylinder units (A.sub.1 and A.sub.2) for each component, operate periodically by a balanced procedure. The pressure for the second piston and cylinder unit which takes over metering is equilibrated, before the beginning of the metering procedure, with the pressure of the first piston and cylinder unit which is in the process of metering. Switching from one piston and cylinder unit to the other (e.g. from A.sub.1 to A.sub.2) takes place in such a way that metering is taken over by the second piston and cylinder units at the same time as the first piston and cylinder unit is switched off. This is achieved by providing a pilot valve which has zero overlap and inevitably releases the component stream from the first piston and cylinder unit at the same time as the other piston and cylinder unit is switched off.
