Abstract: An improved caulking gun is disclosed. The gun includes a cartridge frame having proximal and distal ends and an extension releasably coupled to the proximal end of the cartridge frame. A telescoping shaft is rotatably mounted with in the extension. A spindle is formed on an end of the telescoping shaft projecting from an end of the extension. A portion of the telescoping shaft is threaded and passes through a threaded sleeve mounted at a distal end of the extension. Rotation of the telescoping shaft causes the telescoping shaft to increase and decrease in length causing the distal portion of the telescoping shaft to move between a retracted position adjacent the proximal end of the cartridge frame and an extended position adjacent the distal end of the cartridge frame. A plunger is releasably mounted to the distal end of the telescoping shaft.

As a result various types of containers can be fastened to the machine without the need to change the mechanism of the device. The container can be provided on both ends with identical external threads and can be closed by closure caps in order to enable intuitive handling. In order to improve access to points which are difficult to reach, the container may be in the form of a curved pipe or may be formed flexibly. • Patent number: 8561841
Abstract: A concentrated flavor dispensing machine having displacement pumps for delivering between a fraction of a milliliter and a few ounces of fluids having a viscosity value between 1 to 4000 centepoise is described. The dispensing machine includes a cabinet for containing a multitude of displacement pumps, where each displacement pump is realizably connected to a disposable pre-filled fluid cartridge. Each displacement pump includes a stepper motor in engagement with a threaded drive rod that is advanced or retracted by any one of several predetermined distances. The drive rod impels a plunger positioned within the disposable cartridge to dispense a volume of fluid. Flexible capillary tubes connected to the output of each disposable cartridge direct the fluid to a central dispensing area. The disposable cartridge includes an expandable plunger which draws fluid back into the cartridge when the drive rod is withdrawn after a dispense operation for drip prevention.

  • Patent number: 8544686
Abstract: A system for dispensing sprayable material such as paint and other liquefied products. The system includes a dispenser designed to accept a flexible, crushable, container filled with sprayable material and having a valve and spray tip at one end. The container is placed into a slot in the dispenser with the valve on the container secured in the housing of the dispenser. In operation, a plunger that runs lengthwise within the housing of the dispenser exerts force on the bottom of the container crushing it as it is emptied and forcing the sprayable material out through the valve and spray tip.

Abstract: An actuator for advancing a rod which enables release of the rod from an actuating mechanism by rotating the rod to allow the rod to be retreated. The actuator may also provide a mechanism for disabling the driving mechanism as the rod is fully advanced to prevent damage by excessive forces being applied to the rod. The actuating mechanism can be fully enclosed in a stock of a dispenser gun or applicator, facilitating cleaning of the dispenser gun. The disclosed dispenser gun is particularly suitable for dentistry applications.

  • Patent number: 8511520
Abstract: A fluent material dispensing system comprising: a bottle, a plunger engaged inside the bottle, and a dispensing mechanism having a lever for operation of the plunger for fluid expulsion. The plunger may frictionally engage the bottle to a degree sufficient for holding the plunger in place against a force applied due to return motion of the lever. The dispensing mechanism may comprise a cap for attachment to an end of the bottle opposite a fluid outlet and a handle attached to the cap, the lever pivotally coupled to the cap, the lever and the handle aligned with the bottle. The dispensing mechanism may comprise a portioning mechanism configured to limit distance travelled by the lever from the rest position to the engaged position to a defined amount, thereby limiting expulsion of the fluid to a corresponding defined portion.

  • Patent number: 8505785
Abstract: A cartridge piston for pressing out a compound from a cartridge body is provided with a forwardly directed, elastic sealing lip which is arranged to bear against the cartridge wall. To allow for escape of air while the piston is being introduced, air passages are provided on the sealing lip. In a wall portion of the side wall, the piston has a non-circular shape so that, in certain regions, the abutment of the piston on the cartridge wall is less close than in other regions. In this manner, the outflow of air to the outside is facilitated. Further, the piston is arranged in its inserted state in a sealing abutment on the cartridge wall, thus precluding ingress of air into the cartridge.

Abstract: A reconfigurable applicator system for extrusive dispensing of a work material is provided. The system includes a body portion having an actuator coupled thereto. A frame portion coupled to the body portion defines a support structure for at least one cartridge unit containing the work material. A combination trigger handle portion is coupled to the body portion to be adjustable between angularly displaced first and second grip positions relative to the frame portion. The combination trigger handle portion includes at least first and second selectable triggers coupled to the actuator, which responds to each of the first and second triggers to actuate extrusive dispensing of the work material from the cartridge unit. The combination trigger handle portion in the first and second grip positions alternatively configures the system between overhand and underhand configurations.

  • Patent number: 8474656
Abstract: A syringe has a dripless feature by using an O-ring located between a conical disc and a flat plunger disc in an annular groove on a moving plunger. The flat plunger disc has a series of projections that offset the o-ring off the flat plunger disc surface when the plunger is not actuated. When the plunger is actuated, the o-ring distorts to rest on the projections and also on the surface of the flat plunger disc. When the plunger is released, the o-ring's resiliency pulls the o-ring back to its original shape which sucks back the fluid being dispensed so that no or less drips occur.

Abstract: A dispensing device for a multi component cartridge includes a housing in which a reception element for receiving a cartridge end of the multicomponent cartridge is arranged. The cartridge end is located at the inlet side of a first and second storage container filled with a filling mass and respectively sealed in a fluid tight manner at the cartridge end by a respective piston. A plunger arrangement and a drive arrangement for moving the plunger arrangement are arranged in the housing. A movement of the plunger arrangement in a dispensing direction can be carried out by the drive arrangement for dispensing the filling mass from the storage containers of the multicomponent cartridge. The reception element has an axis of rotation which is substantially arranged in parallel to the dispensing direction. The cartridge end pushed into the reception element can be transferred from an assembly position into a dispensing position by a rotation about the axis of rotation.
