Abstract: The cooking oil spray dispenser has a container for receiving the cooking oil. A spraying mechanism is mounted on the upper end of the container for picking up and spraying the cooking oil. The spraying mechanism includes a tube through which the cooking oil is picked up from the container. This tube extends within the container and has an open lower end to which is fixed a filtering device having a central hub and a base with rim. The central hub is shaped to fit onto the lower end of the tube while the base acts as a support for a mesh which is supported by the rim of the base. In use, the mesh prevents clogging of the lower end of the tube with solid materials such as spices or herbs that may be contained in the cooking oil. Preferably, the mesh is a micromesh and has a convex shape. Such further reduces the risk of clogging since the herbs or spices cannot attach to the micromesh and thus cannot close the inlet of the tube.

  • Patent number: 6131770
Abstract: A pump system for delivering a polymer melt adhesive to an applicator includes the components: a body having mounted thereon a hopper containing a molten polymer, a dual stream pump mounted on the body for receiving a melt from the hopper and discharging dual streams, a first flow course formed in the body interconnecting one pump stream with an outlet from the body, a flow meter for sensing the flow through the first course, and a second flow course interconnecting the other pump stream to a second outlet from the body. A pressure relief valve disposed in the first and second flow courses is activated in response to a predetermined pressure in each course due to downstream failure and diverts the flow therein from the body outlet to the hopper. Diversion of the flow to the hopper changes the flow rate through the flow meter which automatically activates controls to shutdown the system or activate an alarm.

  • Patent number: 4618076
Abstract: A dual dispensing bottle includes two upwardly extending necks having a trigger sprayer attached to one neck and a frangible orifice creating section integrally formed in the other neck. The frangible section is easily removed by twisting and doubles as a plug for the created orifice. The frangible twist-off section enables the consumer to dispense a large amount of product independently of and without removing the trigger sprayer. Since the frangible section is an integral part of the bottle, the easy open/reclose feature is obtained with negligible increase in the manufacturing cost of the bottle.

  • Patent number: 4614284
Abstract: A container having a trigger actuated pump is provided with a sealed spout designed to provide a co-dispensing opening designed to dispense product in larger dosage amounts independently of and as a bypass of the pump. The spout extends upwardly from a pummel at the container top and through an opening in the shroud. The spout is adapted to be cut, snipped or otherwise severed to provide the co-dispensing opening.

  • Patent number: 4257560
Abstract: A spray head for an aerosol container, or the like, for producing a plurality of spray patterns: The spray head includes a central spool with an inlet on its bottom side in communication with the valve stem leading out of the aerosol spray container and with an outlet on the side of the spool. A shell or sleeve surrounds the spool and is longitudinally movable with respect to the spool. The sleeve has two longitudinally spaced apart outlets. Longitudinal shifting of the sleeve with respect to the spool aligns one or the other outlet from the sleeve with the spool outlet. A spring normally returns the sleeve so that a first outlet thereof is aligned with the spool outlet. The entire spray head sits on the valve stem. The valve stem with the associated valve element in the container is spring biased to normally close the valve. The spring force on the valve is less than the spring force in the spray head.

  • Patent number: 4163464
Abstract: The present specification describes and claims an arrangement for filling a vessel which is to be put under high pressure, with freely flowing solids from a storage vessel which is under normal pressure. The arrangement comprises a supply line extending between the storage vessel and the pressure vessel with a pressure sealing valve which can be tightly closed to counter the working pressure in the pressure vessel, and a shut-off valve suitable for sealing the storage vessel, arranged one behind the other in the supply line. The part of the supply line within the pressure vessel has at least one aperture in its wall and extends within a tube which also has an aperture or apertures, the tube and the supply line being so arranged that relative rotational movement there between opens and closes the aperture in the supply line. Thus, when the pressure vessel is full, the solids block off the supply line which is also full.

  • Patent number: 3940069
Abstract: A caplike member is received onto a container for including a supply of materials to be sprayed onto lawns, shrubs and the like. A swivel nut mounted on the caplike member interconnects with, say, a water hose. A rotatable drumlike body on the caplike member has a pair of inserts with different sized bores passing therethrough, and which bores or passages are selectively positionable in alignment with a feed opening connected to inlet water, which tube lower end has a single proportion balance control orifice. The insert openings have lateral communication channels opening into a feed tube that extends into the container. A nozzle is rotatably affixed to the drumlike body and is individually adjustable to select any one of several exit openings which form different spray patterns. A further aspect is the provision of a hand operable valving device which directs inlet water into the container as a pressurized jet for initial mixing with the spray materials.
