  • Patent number: 10859540
Abstract: A septum containing a duckbill valve assembly includes a plurality of elastomeric ribs extending from the body of the septum to the duckbill valve assembly. When inserted into an injection port cavity, force generated by an interference fit between the body of the septum and the cavity is transmitted by the ribs to the duckbill valve assembly. The ribs are configured to reversibly collapse at a hinge point when a needle is inserted through the duckbill valve assembly and are spaced to assist in centering the needle in the duckbill valve assembly. The ribs reduce wear on the duckbill valve assembly by reducing the concentration of compressive forces at higher inlet pressures while maintaining sufficient compressive force to close the duckbill valve assembly at lower inlet pressures.

  • Patent number: 6607105
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for preserving and dispensing wine or champagne. The apparatus provides a housing having a container support for holding wine or champagne bottles, a plurality of removable stoppers for insertion in the bottles, a nitrogen generator for generating a nitrogen rich gas from air, a nitrogen storage tank for storing the generated nitrogen rich gas, a cooling system for cooling certain bottles and dispensers for providing wine or champagne from the bottles to a user. The nitrogen generator draws in ambient air, adsorbs the oxygen from the air and stores nitrogen rich gas in the nitrogen storage tank. The nitrogen storage tank supplies the nitrogen rich gas to the bottles for preserving the wine or champagne. The stoppers include a nitrogen line and a supply line. The nitrogen line communicates nitrogen rich gas into the bottles and the supply line communicates wine or champagne from the bottles to the dispensers.

Abstract: A soap dispensing system includes a soap dispensing fixture and first and second sources of soap connected to the fixture. Each of the sources of soap includes a closed container and a collapsible soap container positioned within the closed container. Each of the collapsible soap containers is connected to the fixture. There is a source of fluid pressure and control elements connected between the source of fluid pressure and each of the first and second closed containers. The application of pressure, from the source, as controlled by the control elements, will apply fluid pressure to either the first or second collapsible soap container to cause it to dispense soap to the soap dispensing fixture.

  • Patent number: 6435379
Abstract: Liquid is supplied from a bottle B to a discharge outlet 8 via a molded plastics reservoir 15 by pressurizing the bottle using an air pump 22. A pressure sensor responds to a rise in air pressure supplied to the bottle by shutting off the pump. Liquid is removed from the reservoir through a dip tube 17 having a main outlet 18 adjacent to the bottom of the reservoir and a smaller auxiliary outlet 21 adjacent to the top of the reservoir. The upper region of the reservoir is received in a finned heat-conducting holder 16 provided with a thermoelectric cooling element. For hygienic purposes the bottle has a connector 12 which can be replaced together with the reservoir 15 and associated supply tubes 24, 13, 14, 17 and 19. A temperature-control mixer 51 may be to mix liquid from the reservoir with liquid from the bottle.

Abstract: A liquid sucking and dispensing device includes a body having a passage and an air inlet and an air outlet are respectively located one two ends of the body. A first valve is engaged with the passage at a mediate section of the passage and a second valve is engaged with the passage at a second end of the body. An opening is defined radially through the body and communicates with the passage and an interior of a container. When the second valve closes the passage, pressurized air enters the container to push liquid in the container out from the container.

The battery filling system includes a first flexible tube for use in transferring distilled water from the interior of a water-filled vessel to the hard-to-reach cell of a lead-acid battery. A second flexible tube transfers pressurized air from an external pressurized air source (typically human lungs) to the interior of the vessel in a quantity sufficient to cause the water to advance into and fill the first tube. A cap is used to snugly attach both tubes to the vessel. A means is also provided to minimize loss of air pressure from the vessel.
