Comprising An Adjustable Stop Or Stops Patents (Class 222/43)
  • Patent number: 4708265
Abstract: A practical and simple system that automatically measures and dispenses grain and powder type food products, such as sugar and flour contained within a canister type holder. The system consists of a drawer compartmentalized into precisely measured divisions with the topside uncovered and the bottomside selectively covered or uncovered by a moveable slide that allows for the pulling out of the drawer without spillage. The drawer will stop at one of several preset measured positions. These positions are controlled by a spring-pressured arm. With the drawer in a selected position the contents of the outward division or divisions of the drawer are dispensed accurately and immediately by pushing inwardly the moveable slide covering the bottom side. When the drawer is pulled outward an attached trailing horizontal upper slide prevents any of the contents within the canister from filling the empty area behind the drawer when the drawer is pulled out.

  • Patent number: 4648533
Abstract: An electronically controlled, pneumatically actuated pumping system is provided that is especially designed for the precision dispensing of liquids. The system includes a positively actuated inlet valve, and a small-diameter, long-stroke pumping piston that is physically stopped at each end of its stroke. The unique inlet valve and piston enable the system to repetitively dispense metered volumes of fluid at better than one tenth of one percent accuracy. A unique calibration mechanism and detachable dispensing head allow for the rapid disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of the system. An alternative embodiment of the pumping system incorporates a plurality of dispensing nozzles controlled by a single inlet valve and pumping piston combination. The dispensing unit may be shiftably mounted on a vertically oriented stand, and may be automatically shifted upwardly as fluid is dispensed to minimize splashing and atomizing of the dispensed fluid.

  • Patent number: 4006842
Abstract: A measuring and dispensing device for granular material has a container for the material with an outlet at the bottom and a plurality of dispensing compartments open at top and bottom fixed at the outlet. A barrier member and a closure member are reciprocable in unison across the tops and bottoms respectively of the compartments so that on movement of the members in one direction the barrier member closes the top of each successive compartment before the closure member closes its bottom, and on movement thereof in the opposite direction the closure member opens the bottom of each successive compartment before the barrier member opens its top. Control means are provided accessible from the exterior for selectively stopping the movement of the members at each position of respective registry with the successive compartments. The device can be adjusted to selectively fill and then dispense the compartments maintained normally empty, or to selectively dispense the compartments maintained normally full.

  • Patent number: 3987934
Abstract: A device for accurately dispensing a volume of fluid that is predetermined by limiting the outward travel distance of a plunger within a fluid chamber. The plunger limit stop is attached to a scale post having raised indicia lines and is adjustable therealong by a detent engagement wherein the limit stop is selectively positioned to engage one of a plurality of notches formed on the scale post between its volume indicia raised lines.

  • Patent number: 3982724
Abstract: A material dispenser using a deformable tube through which the flow of material is controlled is described. The deformable tube is selectively mounted to expose a pinch region to a pressure element having a predetermined shape. The deformable tube is selectively supported to enable precise control over tube constriction for accurate material flow control. A micrometer stop is conveniently mounted to regulate the size of the tube restriction. Automatic and repeated actuation of the dispenser is obtained by locating the pressure element as a piston in a cylinder. Various deformable tube embodiments are described to reduce tube wall stresses for longer operating life and enable both positive closure and opening of the deformable tube.
