With Bypass Or Free-flow Adjustment Patents (Class 222/443)
  • Patent number: 8752738
Abstract: A chamber member is mounted to a bottle body and has an opening and partially bounds a first chamber and a second chamber. A selector is mounted to the chamber body for relative rotation between a first dosing condition and a second dosing condition. In the first dosing condition: flow is not blocked from the first chamber out the opening; flow is blocked from the second chamber out the opening; flow is blocked from the bottle interior to the first chamber; and flow is not blocked from the bottle interior to the second chamber. In the second dosing condition: flow is blocked from the first chamber out the opening; flow is not blocked from the second chamber out the opening; flow is not blocked from the bottle interior to the first chamber; and flow is blocked from the bottle interior to the second chamber.

  • Patent number: 8028865
Abstract: A two-way dispenser cap has a main cap member and a toggle valve. The main cap member has two passages that allow material from inside an attached container to dispense. The first passage leads to a trap chamber that is defined by the main cap member and the toggle valve walls. The second passage leads to an outlet passage for continuous pouring dispensation. The toggle valve pivots in relation to the two-way dispenser cap between one of three positions: no dispensation, metered dispensation from the trap chamber passage or continuous pour dispensation. When the toggle valve pivots to open the trap chamber passage, the trap chamber inlet is closed off. When the toggle valve pivots to open the continuous pour passage, the trap chamber outlet remains closed. When the toggle valve pivots to the closed position, both the inlet passages are in fluid communication with the attached container's interior, but both outlets are closed. The main cap member has a recessed top portion.

  • Patent number: 5560523
Abstract: An apparatus for transferring a discrete, measured volume of liquid from a dispensing container to a liquid receptacle. The apparatus is comprised of a conduit having a solenoid valve, a measuring vessel and a pump. The solenoid valve controls fluid flow from a dispensing container to the measuring vessel. The apparatus prevents accidental drainage of the liquid dispensing container by the pump and eliminates personnel hazards associated with manual transfers of liquids from dispensing containers to receptacles.

  • Patent number: 5020699
Abstract: Dispensing containers are described in which a metering chamber for the contents of a fluid container is mounted in the neck of the container. Openings intermediate the height of the chamber allow it to be put in communication with the container interior by a rotary movement, e.g. applied to an external closure cap. When the closure cap is rotated to open the chamber to the container interior it also adopts a sealing position preventing the escape of any of the contents. The space in the chamber above the apertures is greater than that below. Sufficient fluid can be admitted to the chamber by inverting the container, therefore, to ensure that the lower space is completely filled when the container is again turned upright. Reverse rotation closes the openings to isolate the metered fluid from the main volume of the container and can also open the chamber to the exterior to allow the metered quantity to be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 4993593
Abstract: A flowable medium, such as a liquid, a semi-liquid, or a liquid containing particulate matter, can be automatically dispensed in a premeasured amount or in a continuous stream. When the flowable medium is being dispensed in a premeasured amount, such amount is isolated from the remainder of the flowable medium during the dispensing operation so that it can be dispensed independently of any head pressure created by the remainder of the flowable medium. By using a temperature sensor in combination with a microcomputer system for the purpose of detecting large fluctuations in the temperature of the flowable medium, it is also possible to determine when the remainder of the flowable medium reaches a low level condition.

  • Patent number: 4471886
Abstract: A spray device comprising a bomb, a measuring container housed in the bomb, and a plunger valve adapted to discharge a medicinal liquid and having a valve cutout at its lower end. The plunger has a medicinal liquid replenishing port formed in a radial direction at a portion thereof other than the cutout portion, communicating with a channel in the plunger and usually covered with a sleeve portion of the measuring container. When the bomb is empty or is emptied of the liquid, a new medicinal solution or replenishment is charged into the bomb from outside through the plunger. The peripheral side surface of a neck portion of the plunger and the top outer surface of the bomb close to the surface are formed with marks for setting the valve in position for replenishment.
