Snap-acting Outlet Element Patents (Class 222/498)
  • Patent number: 4077551
Abstract: This invention relates to a capsule which comprises a glass-shaped body with a funnel-shaped bottom having a central hollow extension which can be cut off, an upper closure baffle which can be pierced in order to introduce a diluent, a sealing disc comparatively flexible which is inserted into the glass-shaped body until the latter rests along a continuous supporting edge to ensure the seal by means of a slight forcing; and, below said supporting edge, projections contacting the disc and deforming it when this is thrusted beyond the supporting edge under an inner pressure allowing in this manner the liquid to flow out. This capsule is designed for preparing beverages.

  • Patent number: 4047648
Abstract: A container for dispensing pourable materials, ideally liquids, having a cup-shaped lower portion with a bottom wall and a continuous upstanding peripheral wall terminating at an upper edge, a seal engaging the upper edge in a liquid type manner, a pouring spout extending upwardly from the seal, an upstanding wall integral with the seal and surrounding the pouring spout, a small opening in the bottom of the wall which permits any liquid collected within the area inside the wall to drain through the hole and into the cup-shaped portion, and a pivotally mounted cap movable from an open position (to permit liquid to be dispensed from the pouring spout) to a position over the pouring spout to seal the pouring spout and the wall opening from the atmosphere. The cap is maintained in the open position by a portion of the pivoting mechanism engaging the top of the seal in a cam-like action.

  • Patent number: 3968905
Abstract: Timed release of measured quantities of an aerosol spray is accomplished by attachment of an improved dispenser to a conventional aerosol container. The contents of the container are controllably passed through a porous sintered plug and a flow restricting orifice into a measuring chamber in the body of the dispenser. The exit passage of this chamber is sealed by a spring disk which is concave upward with its periphery seated against a shoulder encircling the exit orifice. As the container contents enter the chamber, the pressure therein rises until it is sufficient to overcome the spring resistance of the disk. When this occurs, the disk snaps into its stressed condition, assuming a concave downward shape. It is then supported on projections formed on the exit orifice shoulder. These projections retain the stressed disk in spaced relation to the exit orifice and allow a quantity of the chamber contents to pass around the disk and escape through a nozzle mounted on the exit orifice.

  • Patent number: 3933271
Abstract: This invention relates to an integrally molded captive cap assembly including a threaded base for attachment to a container and a lead tube which projects into a hollow cap which is pivotally connected to the base. An integrally molded pair of spring members are disposed between the cap and the base and have end portions pivotally connected to the base and to the cap. The spring members bias the cap toward one of two positions. When the cap is in a closed position, the spring members bias the cap toward the closed position and when the cap is opened past an intermediate position, the spring members bias the cap toward an open position.
