The metering valve is connected at a dispensing station above a screen on which a receptacle is positioned such that stray sand passes through the screen into a reclaim hopper from which it can be returned to the supply bin. By using a plurality of variously colored sands a decorative art form in a transparent receptacle is easily fashioned and saved.

    Abstract: A novel container having an internal pour spout is provided, the sealed container carrying a pour spout having a central platform, a first side panel connected by hinge to the platform on a first side and a second panel connected by hinge to the platform on a second side, the two side panels having a substantially triangular shape. The hinged connection of the panels to the platform permit each pour spout to be provided in a flattened configuration in which the side panels permit subsequent processing of the flattened carton stock. When the carton is folded, the panels move passively in response to the carton folding steps and assume an assembled configuration as the carton is assembled.

    Abstract: A concrete container for introducing concrete into formworks includes an upwardly open vessel with a downwardly narrowing bottom portion with an outlet opening and a flexible pipe connected to the outlet opening for distributing the concrete. Underneath the outlet opening of the concrete container, an essentially horizontally extending crossbeam is arranged, wherein the crossbeam is arranged so as to be displaceable transversely of the freely suspended flexible pipe. The two ends of the crossbeam, whose length corresponds at least to the diameter of the flexible pipe, are suspended from the concrete container by connecting members. Tension springs are attached in an articulated manner to the two ends of the crossbeam, wherein the other ends of the tension springs are fastened to the support frame, wherein the tension springs are tensioned when the crossbeam is located laterally of the outlet opening in a position releasing the flexible pipe.

    Abstract: A dispensing lid assembly which includes a rotatable spout for use with a container defining a container cavity. The container may be the type having deflectable sidewalls. The rotatable spout includes an arcuate ball portion and a nozzle portion. The arcuate rotator portion is retained on a base of the lid assembly to allow rotation thereof to align a through hole in the spout with a dispensing hole in the base. The arcuate rotator portion is configured to reduce the wear on a sealing gasket. A check valve assembly is attached to the base of the dispensing lid assembly. The check valve assembly includes a diaphragm which is pre-loaded within a valve chamber to provide a desired sealing effect between the diaphragm and the base portion. The check valve assembly is configured to pre-load forces on the diaphragm such that a desired inhaling force will unseat the diaphragm from the corresponding portion of the base to draw air therethrough.

    Abstract: A can for holding paint and similar products. The can has a rectangular bottom, preferably square, and rectangular sides providing a space savings of about 20 percent as compared to round cans. It has a main opening large enough to permit passage of large paint brushes or sprayer suction lines and filters. This opening is covered with a large cap. A swivel pour valve permits paint to be poured from the can in a controlled manner with no spillage or mess. In a preferred embodiment, the swivel pour valve is an integral part of the large cap covering the large opening. The can is preferably made of plastic which eliminates problems of rust and other corrosion problems.

An arcuate channel is also provided in the closure cap top wall in which the arcuate projection on the tubular member is slidably fitted. Contents of the tubular member are dispensed by aligning the passageway of the spout with the gap in the arcuate projection and application of pressure on the side wall of the tubular member.

The cover includes an upper wall and a circumferentially extending collar extending towards the inside of the container. The collar has at least one dispensing opening which is released when the cover is in a pivoted position. The outer shape of the cover and the shape of the opening of the closure ring have the shape of a section of a laterally flattened body of rotation. The cover is pivotally guided in the opening of the closure ring in a positively engaging and sealing manner.

    Abstract: A valve (18) is disclosed for venting a liquid dispensing container. The valve comprises a valve body upper end (76), an intermediate portion (78) adapted to mount through a sidewall aperture, and a semi-spherical lower end portion (80). An air passageway (96) extends into the valve upper end (76), and through the portion (78) to the lower portion (80). A slit opening (94) extends through the lower portion (80) and communicates with the passageway (96). The slit widens to equalize pressure in the container, and annular shoulder surfaces (92) and internal surfaces (62) of the container sidewall are compressed together. When equalization in pressure has been achieved, the lower valve portion (8) decompresses and resumes its normal configuration whereby causing the slit (94) to close. Surfaces (92, 62) have a complimentary downward angle to facilitate the return of the lower portion (80) into its semi-spherical shape.

    Abstract: A spout for a container is provided with depending wings extending down from a bottom edge of the spout. The depending wings terminate in a point for piercing a container. The depending wings permit the spout to pivot ninety degrees from the container to extend from a container at a ninety degree angle therefrom. The spout has side walls with upper edges having arcs of ninety degrees. The spout is inserted into a container with a ram which drives the spout against a ramp to rock the depending wings upward with respect to the bottom edge of the spout. Thereafter, the ram drives the points into the container and the upper edges of the side walls of the spout contact the container and cam the spout back to a horizontal position to insert the ninety degree spout with the depending wings into a container.
