  • Patent number: 8939302
Abstract: A closure assembly comprises an article (1) forming a tubular neck (2) around a product passage (3) in said article. The neck forms a mouth at a top end of said product passage. The assembly further comprises a rotational cap (20) that is injection molded of plastic material and that is secured on or to be secured on said neck of the article. The cap seals the product passage in closed position of the cap on said neck, and the cap—for removal of the cap from the neck of the article by a user to open the product passage—is adapted to be manually rotated from the closed position in an opening direction.

  • Publication number: 20140217131
Abstract: A container (10) comprising a body (18) having a cavity (41) for containing a product, a nozzle (16) and a closure (14). The container is opened at the dispensing orifice (43) of the nozzle by severing the closure from the nozzle via manual force from the user. The closure is formed of a mixture comprising high density polyethylene and an inorganic additive that lowers the impact strength and toughness of the high density polyethylene while increasing flexural modulus and hardness. The closure may be unitarily formed with the nozzle as a single piece.

  • Publication number: 20140027476
Abstract: A closure comprising a solid colour spout and a transparent overcap is adapted to be sealed to a container neck by means of a double-sided foil. The overcap has a depending valve, which engages with the spout to hold these components together prior to assembly to the container. The spout has a flange adapted to seat on a rim of the container neck and an annular wall that is received within the container neck. The foil is welded to the flange and is also used to weld the closure to a rim of a container neck of standard threaded design. The overcap can screw to an external thread on the container neck. The primary ex-factory seal is provided by welding the assembled closure to the neck. The secondary seal is provided by the engagement of the overcap valve with the spout. The invention discloses an improved method of assembly.

  • Patent number: 8496129
Abstract: Provided are a cap capable of being easily and reliably opened and unsealed not limited in design even if an inner cap with a small diameter is used for the cap, producing no refuse after the unsealing, and not unnecessarily large in size, and a container with the cap. When an over cap (3) is rotated in the opening direction, a pair of screw threads (10a, 10b) as opening means are advanced in the direction in which they are tightened together, and this cuts off a planned opening section (4) from the inner cap (2). Thus, the cap has a relatively simple structure and can be simply and reliably unsealed by small force. Also, the planned opening section (4) is integrated with the over cap (3) after unsealing the inner cap (2), so that no refuse is produced after the unsealing, eliminating the need to clear it away from a table.

  • Patent number: 8408433
Abstract: A squeezable bottle containing fluids has a mouth for dispensing the fluid. An elastic valve is retained between a closing support retainer and a containment ring. The closing support retainer is secured to the mouth of the bottle and to the elastic valve and has passages for fluid through itself. The containment ring prevents the elastic valve from expanding too far outwardly over at least some of the valve's surface. A fluid passage is formed between the elastic valve and a rigid cap that leads to a dispensing opening. The dispensing opening is sealed by a round disc which is integrally formed with the elastic valve and seats on seat on the cap. This arrangement allows the contents of the bottle to remain sanitary over time.

  • Patent number: 6666359
Abstract: A controlled-dose dispenser is useful to provide drops of liquid substances such as drugs, vaccines, ophthalmic solutions or other fluid solutions. The dispenser includes a body preferably made from two sheets of plastic material that are thermoformed in face-to-face relationship. A portion of the body is generally flat with a reservoir, which preferably is generally rounded, in a central portion. The reservoir is adapted to contain a chosen liquid substance. An outlet port is in fluid communication with the reservoir. An outlet nozzle is secured to the outlet port. A cap portion seals off the end of the outlet nozzle until a breakable or frangible connection is broken to remove the cap portion. Once the cap portion is removed, the liquid substance within the reservoir can be dispensed through the nozzle and the cap portion preferably cannot be replaced so that the dispenser is especially suited to be a single-use device.

  • Publication number: 20030127472
Abstract: The invention is a nozzle assembly (3, 20) with a re-useable break off cap (20) for dispensing a product from a container (1). On a dispensing end (5) of the nozzle (3) a break-off cap (20) is integrally formed thereon and closes off the dispensing end (5) of the nozzle (3). The break-off cap (20) is removable by breaking a frangible connection (22) between the nozzle (3) and the break-off cap (20). Removing the break-off cap opens the dispensing end (5) of the nozzle (3) thereby allowing product to be dispensed through the nozzle (3). The break-off cap (20) removed from the nozzle (3) can then be re-engaged with the nozzle (3) to close off the dispensing end (5) thereby preventing further product from being dispensed. The cap can be attached to or removed from the nozzle (3) as often as a user requires. The invention also includes packaging which includes a tray (111) or pouch into which the nozzle assembly (3, 20) and container (1) can be inserted.

Abstract: A tamper-evident structure for use in a resealable dispensing closure system includes a lid and a flexible, frangible tamper-evident member extending from the lid to a drop ring. The drop ring is adapted to engage a bottom end of a closure body in the closure system. Preferably, the lid, frangible tamper-evident member, and drop ring are provided as a unitary, integrally molded structure. In a preferred embodiment, the closure body can also be molded as a unitary part of the structure. The lid, frangible tamper-evident member and drop ring are assembled on the closure body by first installing the lid in a closed position on the closure body. The drop ring is then pivoted downward relative to the lid, thereby causing the frangible tamper-evident member to become disposed adjacent the closure body skirt. The drop ring is located at the bottom of the closure body. The system can then be installed on a container so that the drop ring locks under a bead or lip on the container.
