Abstract: The invention concerns a device and a method of adding rinse aids to a home appliance containing liquid, especially a household dishwasher, with a main tub (1), which has a service opening (4) to put the things to be washed into the main tub (1), whereby the device includes at least one dispensing unit (6) to hold and dispense the rinse aid. The dispensing unit (6) is placed in the main tub (1), whereby at least part of the dispensing unit (6) is placed so it can move or is movable and can be pulled out of the main tub (1), at least partly, in the direction of the service opening (4).

Abstract: A device is described, for dispensing washing agents for a household washing machine, in particular a dishwasher, said dispenser (1) having at least a space (3B) for containing an amount of washing agent necessary for performing a washing cycle, wherein the charging of said amount of washing agent in said space (3B) is performed manually and the dispensing of the washing agent is performed at least partially by gravity. According to the invention, the device comprises at least a dispensing body (3) capable of performing angular or rotary movements around a first axis and angular movements with respect to a second axis.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a household dishwasher, said dishwasher being equipped with a program selection device and a combined device for adding a detergent and a clear rinse agent to the washing area. The aim of the invention is to improve the cleaning effect. To this end, the clear rinse agent is added not only once during the last wash cycle, but on several occasions at various times during the wash program. Each of these processes is characterized by an adjustable number of equal quantities or a non-adjustable number of variable quantities of a clear rinse agent. A metering device for carrying out the inventive method comprises a reservoir, a temporary storage unit and a metering chamber. Both the temporary storage unit and the metering chamber can be configured with an adjustable volume.

Abstract: A wash additive dispensing system for an automatic washer wherein the wash additive dispenser system includes a cup for receiving the additive, a tray pivotally supporting the cup for movement between an upright orientation for retaining the wash additive in the cup and a dumping orientation in which the additive in the cup is dispensed. The tray is disposed along the rear portion of an access opening provided in the cabinet enclosure and is slidable supported by a housing between a first position for adding wash additive to the cup and a second position for dispensing wash additive from the cup. When disposed in the second position, a handle portion of the tray forms part of the rear surface of the washer access opening.

Abstract: This new detergent delivery system involves the formation of a detergent solution from a solid detergent material. The system comprises a container for holding the detergent pellets, and a lid. The container includes a hollow body portion, a base portion, and a passageway. The container has a handle which is pivotally attached to the hollow body portion. The base portion of the container has a recess molded therein, and tabs for retentively engaging the handle in a nested position when the handle is not in use. The lid retentively and disengageably fits securely with a coupling means of the passageway. The lid includes means for retentively and disengageably fitting securely within the passageway of the container. An integral grid is formed within the lid, the grid having a plurality of apertures forming a pattern therein. The grid is divided into four quadrants, and the pattern on each quadrant is similar.

Abstract: A receptacle for containing a powdered detergent is arranged in the door of a dishwasher having a washing chamber. The receptacle has an opening which, when the door is closed, is situated inside the door and faces the washing chamber. The opening can be closed by a lid which can be locked in a closed position by a lock hook which engages a projection on the lid. The lock hook can be acted on in order to release the lid for movement to an open position by an electric means arranged in the dishwasher. A mechanical means in the door is arranged to transmit movement form the electric means to the lid in order to open it.

Abstract: A dispenser (10) for a detergent (13) is disclosed. A housing (10) defining an inner cavity (12) holds the detergent (13). The cavity (12) has a circular opening. An insert (14) of a substance not chemically compatible with the detergent (13) is retained in the opening of the inner cavity (12). The insert (14) is retained by retaining ring (20) and a cover (26). In a preferred embodiment, the retaining ring (20) defines an inner aperture (21a) and has a plurality of generally upwardly extending resilient fingers (24) cooperatively connected to the retaining ring (20) proximate the inner aperture (21b). A cover (26) is cooperatively connected to and secured by the fingers (24), wherein said insert (14) is placed over said fingers (24) and said cover (26) over said insert (14), whereby said fingers (24) and said cover (26) control the dissolving of the insert (14 ) by controlling the surface area of the insert (14) exposed to the detergent solution.

Abstract: A treating agent dispensing apparatus of a laundry machine comprises a dispensing vessel rockable between a dispensing stand-by position wherein a treating agent is reservably received and a dispensing position wherein the reserved treating agent is discharged into a tank, a control lever movable between an original position, a treating agent feed position and vessel return and intermediate position, an interlocking mechanism moved by the control lever when the control lever is moved from the original position and to the vessel return position, whereby the dispensing vessel is rocked from the dispensing position to the dispensing stand-by position, and a treating agent feeding mechanism moved by the control lever when the control lever is moved from the vessel return position to the treating agent feed region, whereby a predetermined amount of treating agent from a storage source is fed into the dispensing vessel located in the dispensing stand-by position.
