  • Patent number: 7828786
Abstract: A bicompartment bag adapted to prepare a liquid solution has an assembly of two flexible outer sheets with an access bushing affixed through one of the sheets. The interior of the bag is divided into two chambers by a third flexible sheet having a screen-like stripe with its distal end located at the bottom of the bag. The third sheet has a bore affixed around its edge onto the annular plane of the bushing end projecting into the bag. The first chamber communicates with, through the bushing, a solvent inlet and is partially filled with powdered solute. The inside of the second chamber has a layer separate from the bag. The second chamber layer, constructed of a woven or injected material, extends from a semicircular recess made in correspondence with the bushing to the bottom of the second chamber. • Patent number: 7828176
Abstract: A hand operated fluid dispensers comprised of a sealed flexible reservoir chamber containing a fluid, a flexible pump chamber encased by and drawing fluid from the reservoir, and a pump cycled by external pressure applied through a reservoir wall. This class of simple, inexpensive, disposable dispensers is particularly useful in packaging cosmetics, foodstuffs, and healthcare products. As pocketable dispensers they are popular for dispensing small amounts of stored viscous liquids easily damaged when exposure to the atmosphere, a condition where sealed reservoirs coupled with airless pumps working together successfully prevent such product contamination and deterioration. A method of improved healthcare employing such pump dispensers containing a hand sanitizing fluid is also discussed.

  • Patent number: 7823753
Abstract: A caulking gun barrel system fits into caulking guns designed for pre-filled cartridges. The caddy system utilizes soft-sided recharge packs of fill material ordinarily designed for more expensive caulking machines with built-in barrels. The caddy system includes at least one tubular barrel having a removable cap for providing access to the barrel interior for insertion of a recharge pack. A shuttle disposed within the tube articulates between ends of the tube and interfaces between the soft-sided refill pack and the caulking gun piston. Built into the removable cap is an elongate, coaxial nozzle for distributing the fill material. In a preferred embodiment, two such barrels are coupled together by a spine adapted to hold them in linear alignment. Abstract: The dispensing of substances from multi-chamber containers, such as tubes, can be controlled by the placement of a flow modifying unit in the dispensing nozzle of the container. The dispensing nozzle will have a plurality of channels, usually one for each chamber. The flow controlling unit is a constriction at an intermediate point, a point between the channel inlet and exit, in at least one of the channels. This constriction is sized to adjust flow so that the viscous substance from each chamber is dispensed at a set flow rate and in a set ratio, one to the other. The constriction is formed at the time that the nozzle is formed. In the compression molding process a mold pin is used, the mold pin meeting a mold base at an intermediate point in at least one channel. The mold pin and or mold base has a recess that is the size and shape of the flow modifying constriction. Plastic is injected into the mold and the flow modifying unit is formed at the same time as the nozzle.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing fine particulate matter from a flexible container includes a housing with a first open end and an opposed closed end. A nozzle is attached to the closed end extending into the housing. The nozzle has a passageway extending therethrough and a first end puncturing a wall of the container and enabling the first member to penetrate the container. A pump member is disposed transversely to the nozzle and includes a passageway having a venturi and a venturi throat disposed adjacent a first end. The second end receives a supply of fluid under pressure. A vent is attached to the cover and has one end puncturing and penetrating the wall of the container. Supply of fluid under pressure forms a pressure differential between opposite ends of the container and enables the fine particulate matter to enter the first and second passage for mixing with the fluid.
