With Interconnected Flow Controller Or Closure Operating Means Patents (Class 222/96)
  • Patent number: 4463876
Abstract: A measuring device for dispensing preferably viscous liquids comprising a container (4) for the liquid with a main space (28) and below the main space, a smaller space (29) which is in communication with the main space through a passage (37) and opens out through another passage (30). The portion which constitutes the smaller space (29) and the two passages (37, 30) is compressible. A member (3) is adapted, under the influence of spring forces, in a first position to compress the second passage (30). The member can be moved, against the action of said spring forces, into a second position in which it compresses the first passage (37) while the second passage (30) is open, so that in a third position, in which the member compresses the smaller space (29) and still the first passage (37), the liquid squirts out through the second passage (30).

  • Patent number: 4448329
Abstract: A dispenser for tubes of fluent materials, such as toothpaste, wherein the tube is placed between two wings which are progressively moved towards each other to squeeze the tube and dispense its contents. The wings are mounted at their ends which are remote from the open end of the tube and are movable towards each other by two guides mounted on a carriage which is movable from the mounted ends of the wings towards the open end of the tube. As the carriage moves from the mounted ends of the wings, where the wings are close to each other, towards their other ends, where the wings are initially further apart, the wings are forced together to apply a squeezing force to the tube. The guides are moved by a ratchet system including a reciprocable rack and a ratchet tooth provided on the carriage. Movement of a dispenser operating lever moves the rack in one direction to move the carriage. The ratchet system includes a fixed rack to prevent the carriage from moving in the wrong direction.

  • Patent number: 4418840
Abstract: This invention is directed to a dispenser for housing and dispensing on demand a predetermined amount of the semi-fluid contents of a compressible tube container, such as a toothpaste tube. The dispenser for automatically dispensing a semi-fluid material that can be caused to flow slowly from a compressible tube comprises:(a) a structure for holding the tube in a position such that the opening in the tube extends downwardly;(b) an arrangement for slidably closing the end of the opening in the tube;(c) a device for agitating upon manual command the tube and semi-fluid contents such that the contents are induced to flow;(d) the above recited arrangement withdrawing the slidable closure from the opening upon manual command to thereby permit the material to flow gradually out of the tube.

  • Patent number: 4271985
Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing a fluent substance from a flexible container which consists of two opposed plates which are pivotally attached to a frame and which receive the container between them. The plates are movable with the aid of a suitable linkage by a controlled amount towards one another to compress the container and so cause a dose of the substance to be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 4258864
Abstract: An automatic toothpaste dispenser employs a roller-type squeeze device that is driven along the toothpaste tube simultaneously with the opening of a gate that permits the toothpaste to flow. After the desired amount of toothpaste has been dispensed, the roller is automatically retracted and the gate is simultaneously closed. However, the retraction of the gate only continues until the gate is closed, which results in a ratchet-like effect, the roller being retracted a smaller distance than that by which it is advanced.

  • Patent number: 4234104
Abstract: The present invention discloses an improved apparatus for dispensing paste or the like from a collapsible tube. The apparatus comprises a case having an electric motor enclosed therein which, when actuated, moves a pair of rollers downwardly on both sides of the tube to thereby force paste therefrom. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the case is provided with a movable closure member at the bottom thereof which seals the exit nozzle of the toothpaste tube. A motor actuation switch is positioned with respect to the closure member so that the motor is automatically actuated when a toothbrush is positioned so as to move the closure member to uncover the outlet nozzle of the tube and at the same time cause the closure member to abut the switch.

  • Patent number: 4223809
Abstract: A wall or table-mounted cream or paste dispensing device which includes a mounting base and a cooperating brush holder and cover and further characterized by a travelling carriage which is fitted with a roller to effect collapse of a toothpaste or other cream-containing tube, which roller is constrained to move downwardly against the tube in discrete increments by activation of a lever and pull chain combination. The carriage travels on the chain responsive to manipulation of the lever, and paste or cream is dispensed in controlled quantities from a nozzle communicating with the compressed tube.

  • Patent number: 4019655
Abstract: A dispenser, especially a dispenser for toothpaste and other paste-like materials and solid substances, comprising a housing and a face plate, the face plate having an openable and closeable aperture therein through which material in said housing is dispensed, the housing having a cover, pivotally connected thereto and carrying an over plate which rideably overlies the face plate. The housing has within it a compressor connected to an engaging means. The engaging means is engaged in a longitudinally disposed track in the housing. The cover bears against an actuating means connected to a transmission which urges the compressor longitudinally within the housing whereby it can engage a container within the housing made of a yieldable material containing material to dispense whereby pressure of the compressor on the yieldable material causes the contents thereof to be dispensed from an opening in the yieldable material.
