  • Patent number: 4858797
Abstract: Presented is a backpack for use in carrying hose, such as fire hose, to locations where it is needed. The backpack includes a rigid metallic frame having at one end a hose support shelf on which at least two spirally coiled rolls of fire hose may be carried. Quickly engageable and releasable straps are provided to bind the coils of fire hose to the back frame, and shoulder straps and a waist strap are provided to suspend the backpack on the back of the wearer. All that is required of the wearer to release and deploy one or more coils of hose from the backpack is to tug on one end of a flexible cable, with the result that the quick-release straps that bind the coils to the frame are released, thus enabling the coils of hose to be deployed by a mere shrug of the shoulders.

  • Patent number: 4396137
Abstract: A harness for snuggly securing a camera against the torso of a human body includes a quick release fastening means assembled from two members that are releasably engaged securely with each other and operable with a single hand for releasing such engagement. One of the two members of the quick release fastening means is secured to a belt which encircles the torso for restraining that member thereto. The other of the two members is adapted to be secured to the camera. Engagement of the members of the quick release fastening means, when the members are respectively secured to the camera and to the human body, secures the camera against the torso. The harness further includes an elongated neckstrap worn around the neck of the camera user, which is adapted for attachment to the camera so that the camera is supported at a location where it may be secured against the torso by the cooperating quick release fastening means and belt.

  • Patent number: 4328917
Abstract: A camera hold steady strap composed of elastic stretch fabric having a certain amount of "give" which acts as a shock absorber when a hook having a base pivoted to the lower end of an adjustable loop formed by a portion of the strap is connected to the user's belt with the so pivoted base of the hook located behind and slightly above the top of such belt. Thus, when the strap is looped over the belt top, as when the camera falls or depends below the belt, or the camera is pulled away from the user by a camera snatcher, the hook is locked on the belt by the strap overlapping the belt top. The strap also serves as an elastic hold down link to the user's belt, for the camera, when carried by the user's camera neck strap; so that the "give" in the elastic stretch fabric permits the user to jog, etc. without damaging the camera. The "give" in the strap also enables the user to take pictures with the camera either horizontal or vertical without having to adjust the strap length.
