Abstract: A securing apparatus for a handheld device or object is comprised of a sleek, fashionable, flexible elastic strip or band, enhancing a user's gripping capability, thereby preventing abuse and accidental dropping of the device. The elastic strip is removably attached to the device by removable attaching means connected or integrated to each end of the strip. The apparatus may be further provided with a discrete lift mechanism, either attached or integrally formed with the elastic strip. The apparatus retains its form after stretching, and is taut against a surface of the device to avoid catching against exterior objects, fitting discretely on any surface of the device. The securing apparatus can be installed for easy use and minimal dexterity for all users and can be made in different sizes, color, and of different materials having elastomeric properties.

Abstract: A magnetic utility wristband for holding magnetically attractable metallic work items thereagainst for convenient access. The wristband includes an elongated flexible band sized in length to wrap around the wrist of a worker. End portions of the wristband include two-part releasably attachable hook and loop surfaces on corresponding overlapping inner and outer end portion surfaces whereby the band is releasably adjustably connectable only around the worker's wrist. A plurality of elongated magnetic bars are held along a central portion of the wristband in spaced substantially parallel relation one to another transversely to the length of the wristband and between the outer and inner flexible panels by a plurality of transverse spaced stitch lines connecting said outer and inner panels to form individual elongated pockets each of which hold and position one magnetic bar.

Abstract: The small size cellular telephone (T) is fixed on a telescopic slide (201, 101) sliding on a guide (1) which can be longitudinally secured on the user's arm (B), at the wrist (P). When the cellular telephone calls and has the vibration signaller warning system activated, the vibrations are easily transmitted to the slides and guide system and from this last to the user's wrist who can this way instantaneously notice the call state, even if he is in a noisy place. By catching the cellular telephone with the free hand, the user can extend the guides and quickly bring the cellular telephone itself to the palm of the hand to use it. When the conversation is over, the cellular telephone can be as well quickly taken back to the backward rest position on the wrist. Suitable release means are provided to keep the slides in the backward rest position and if required also in the extended use position of the cellular telephone.

  • Patent number: 6345747
Abstract: In a strap assembly for carrying a portable device, in order to protect a user against the action of an unexpected sudden external force, a cord for installing the strap assembly to the portable device is passed through an installation hole of a coupling from the inside such that a knot of a strap is supported by the rim of the installation hole. Coupling holes in both ends of the strap hung from the body of the user are fitted over support posts formed on the inner bases of first and second coupling members. Tapered surfaces are formed on portions of the cylindrical side surfaces of support posts. When the first and second coupling members are closed together with their rims superposed, protrusions of one member engage recesses of another coupling member. If a tension load in excess of a given level is applied to the portable device, a reactive force from the strap acts upon the tapered surfaces, resulting in force components that release the engaged state of these protrusions and recesses.
