Patent number: 6315179Abstract: The present invention has a single harness strap loop, which is placed diagonally across the body from one shoulder to the opposite hip, similar to bandoleer. At the hip an open hook is provided. This hooks on to the ring provided at the base of most power tools. A lanyard is attached to the harness at the back and has a clip at the other end. The clip also attaches to the ring on the power tool. The lanyard can be made of stretchable cord to reduce the jerk on the wearer if the tool falls. A clip is attached next to the hook to attach the harness to a belt or belt loop on the wearer to prevent rotation of the harness. The harness is adjustable to allow for sizing.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2000Date of Patent: November 13, 2001Inventor: James C. Hillis

Patent number: 6279797Abstract: A novel hanger, kit and method for hanging holiday lights on structures such as Christmas trees. The hanger includes a belt clip or other mount that is adapted to temporarily mount on a person, and a horizontal arm upon which cordage can be wound. The hanger includes a plug retainer which holds the end of the plug. The arm includes a plurality of detents or notches formed therein and spaced apart to partition the separate loops of cordage. The hanger is preferably made from an insulated rigid material such as an insulated wire frame to provide a strong structure but yet one that will not conduct electricity that could otherwise shock the individual to which the hanger is mounted. Utilizing the hanger, first the flexible cordage is looped around the hanger into multiple loops and the hanger is temporarily mounted on a person, such as by clipping the hanger on the belt of the individual. Then, the cordage is removed from the hanger as necessary to install the cordage on a structure.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2000Date of Patent: August 28, 2001Inventor: Ralph M. Snyder

Patent number: 6257633Abstract: The present invention relates to an ergonomically correct harness for transporting loads. The harness comprises a pair of arcuately shaped pieces which fit over the shoulders of a user. Attached to the rear of the arcuately shaped pieces are two rearwardly extending arms. The rearwardly extending arms are connected at a distal end to a load support arm. Mechanisms for allowing a load to be carried by the harness are attached to the load support arm. Attached to the front of the arcuately shaped shoulder pieces are members for adjusting the position of the harness on the user's shoulders. By adjusting the position of the harness via these members, one can lift a load attached to the harness. The harness of the present invention allows a user to lift a load and transport it using his/her chest muscles, arm muscles, and shoulder muscles. It is not necessary for a user to use his/her knees to lift the load. Further, the back of the user can be kept straight as the user transports the load.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 1999Date of Patent: July 10, 2001Inventor: David L. Katz

Publication number: 20010004987Abstract: A compact and versatile device designed to aid the safe lifting and carrying (in an upright position) of large and awkward man-made sheet materials used in the construction industry, so developed to reduce the hazardous and tiring act of bending the back or legs in order to lift heavy sheet materials in common use. The tool is made of strong and durable materials, whilst remaining small enough to be carried easily on the person, so remaining ready for immediate use and consequently more likely to be used than some other, sometimes complicated, devices already on the market. The device consists of a strong carrying shoe suitable to support the lower edge of the sheet material, with a loop of strong but flexible webbing strap which is secured through a purpose-made slot in the carrying shoe. This strap, when wrapped around the operatives hand or wrist, forms an easy means by which a board may then be lifted clear of the ground, and carried away to another place.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2001Publication date: June 28, 2001Inventor: Richard George Armour

Patent number: 6199733Abstract: A speed square holder including an elongated vertically disposed body member having a top spring clip and a bottom spring clip offset and connected by an intermediate portion. A top mount is pivotally attached to the top spring clip and a bottom mount is pivotally attached to the bottom spring clip. Spring biased top and bottom lever buttons are pivotally attached to the intermediate portion and are disposed in contacting relationship with the respective top and bottom mounts. In use, the top spring clip is positioned over a tool belt or nail pocket with the top lever button in contact with the top edge of the belt or pocket. Downward pressure on the top spring clip forces the top button up and forces the pivoting top mount open to receive the edge of the belt or pocket. The speed square is then positioned over the bottom spring clip in contact with the bottom button. Downward pressure is applied to force the bottom button down and force the bottom pivot mount open to receive the square.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2000Date of Patent: March 13, 2001Inventor: Green Reynolds, III

Patent number: 6089426Abstract: A holster supports a shotgun in an opened condition at a shooter's side. A pair of rods extend between front and rear walls. The rear wall has a tongue for mounting the holster proximate the shooter's waist. The walls are spaced to receive the pivotally connected barrel and stock portions of the shotgun therebetween so as to prevent the shotgun from sliding off the rods. The rods are spaced by a distance less than the distance between the breach sides of the forearm and the trigger guard of the shotgun in the closed condition and greater than the combined heights of the forearm and the trigger guard so that, when the barrel and stock portions are at rest on the rods, the weight of the barrel portion causes the breach side of the trigger guard to engage against the rod on which the stock portion rests so as to prevent forward rotation of the shotgun off the rods while the weight of the barrel portion prevents rearward rotation of the shogun off the rods.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 1998Date of Patent: July 18, 2000Assignee: Hody Products, Inc.Inventors: Bruce L.
