  • Patent number: 11845403
Abstract: A roof rack apparatus for a vehicle includes a roof rack mounting bracket, a roof rack stanchion, a roof rack side rail, and a roof rack pad, such that it is possible to ensure structural durability further improved by a fastening force between an insert bolt and a bracket fixing bolt at the time of assembling the roof rack apparatus with a vehicle body. The roof rack mounting bracket is symmetric in a forward/rearward direction and a leftward/rightward direction with respect to a center of the insert bolt, such that the roof rack apparatus may be used in common. An operator may replace the roof rack with a new roof rack without detaching an interior material (head lining) in the vehicle, such that it is possible to prevent damage to the interior material at the time of replacing and repairing the roof rack.

Abstract: A roof rack system for a vehicle which has a fixed cab and a canopy which includes a pair of rails extending along the length of the vehicle and the canopy, and a number of transverse rails for supporting articles. The rails are fixed to the cab of the vehicle by a conventional element, but brackets are provided on the canopy for receiving both the longitudinal and the transverse rails. The brackets are height adjustable to account for differences between the height of the cab and the canopy of the vehicle, or to accommodate the system on various makes of vehicles which may have differing dimensions. The rails include aluminum or a similar material and are substantially oval on the upper part and flat on the lower parts (closed to the vehicle) when viewed in section.

  • Patent number: 7806306
Abstract: A system and method for forming a vehicle article carrier having a single side release crossbar assembly. The crossbar assembly includes a trigger style, horizontally arranged actuating lever that simultaneously locks and unlocks a pair of locking pins at opposite ends of the crossbar assembly from their respective support rails. The support rails are fixedly secured to an outer body surface of a vehicle such that the crossbar assembly is supported above the outer body surface. The single side release feature eliminates the need for the operator to walk back and forth to both sides of the vehicle to unlock and lock the crossbar assembly when the crossbar assembly needs to be repositioned on the support rails.

  • Patent number: 7721925
Abstract: A universal roof rack mounting system includes small, nearly imperceptible, permanently attached pads and removable cross bar towers. The pads extend only about one quarter inch from an automobile roof and may be painted to match the color of the roof. The cross bar towers may be quickly and easily attached and detached from the pads, and the cross bar towers include a passage which accepts known roof rack cross bars including, both round and rectangular cross bars. An adjustable latching action between the pads and the cross bar towers allows a range of cross bar tower lean angles, thereby allowing the mounting system to adapt to any vehicle roof. The cross bar towers include locking release covers, and the cross bar towers are easily removed, with or without cross bars attached, by unlocking and lifting the tower covers, and the rack system can be lifted off as a unit.
