Abstract: A universal car top carrier is supported upon a pair of spaced apart full length resilient mounting pads. The mounting pads are internally supported by a spring bar to accommodate flexing and produce an even distribution of pressure along the length of the mounting pad. The mounting pads are triangular in cross-section to define three elongated faces each face being differently contoured and selectable to obtain a mating conformance with the supporting roof line or corner. Different width roofs are accommodated by a pair of width adjustable telescoping tubing/support attached to the mounting pads through castings. A cam lock buckle at each casting releasably secures the strap of a gutter hook to lock the car top carrier to the car roof.

Abstract: The roof rack 1 consists of a load carrying part 13 which is movable between a transport position above the roof 5 of a vehicle and a loading position at one side of, or at the rear of, the vehicle. The load carrying part 13 is pivotally mounted 14 to a carriage 9 which is adapted to slide in guides 7, 7' of a support frame 6, 3, 7, 7' which is fixed to the rain channel 4 of the vehicle roof. The movement of the load carrying part between the transport and loading positions is thus a combination of pivotal movement at the hinges 14 and displacement of the carriage 9 in the guides 7, 7'. Further guide members 17 which curve around the edge of the vehicle roof are usefully provided to help control the movement of the load carrying part.

Abstract: An enclosed luggage carrier mountable on the roof of a motor vehicle. The carrier may be streamlined thereby providing less drag during travelling than with other roof carriers known to the applicant.

Abstract: Rack means for mounting and carring devices such as two-wheeled vehicles (e.g., bicycles) on engine-powered vehicles such as automobiles includes structures for clamping the rack between the trunk and trunk lid, the engine well and engine hood, or between some other opening on the automobile and a closure appended to that opening. Racks of this kind permit carrying two or more bicycles in side-by-side relationship with minimum abrasion of one against another.

Abstract: An anchor strap for use in securing an object to another object having a frame defining an opening and a swingable member for swinging movement into opening and closing relation of the opening and which includes a keeper to engage the frame to hold the swingable member in closing relation, an anchor strap which is composed of a strip of flexible pliable material relatively non-elastic, such as of cloth or plastic or rubber, having a first end and a second end and a loop at each of the ends and in one of the ends a core of solid material within the loop and the free end being adapted to be used to tie to an object, the strip being of an overall length of 3 inches to 3 foot and preferably about 8 to 10 inches long.
