Abstract: The dispenser (2) comprises a housing (3) where the following are provided: a first seat (5) for a first roll (R1) of web material (N1), provided with a first dispensing opening (21) for dispensing web material (N1); a second seat (7) for a second roll (R2) of web material, (N2), provided with a second dispensing opening (23) for dispensing web material (N2). A closing member (31) is mounted on the housing and is suitable to take selectively two positions with respect to the housing (3). In a first position the closing member (31) prevents access to the second dispensing opening (23) and allows access to the first dispensing opening (21). In the second position the closing member (31) prevents access to the first dispensing opening (21) and allows access to the second dispensing opening (23). A blocking member (43) is also provided, preventing the closing member (31) from moving from the first position to the second position when a roll (R1) is contained in the first seat (5).

Abstract: Various consumable material dispensing apparatus including automatic roll transfer features are disclosed. In certain embodiments, the apparatus includes a housing, a roll support assembly, a motor, a roll sensor mechanism, and a controller. The housing can include a cabinet, an interior, and an opening. The roll support assembly can support a plurality of rolls. The motor can rotate the roll support assembly from a first position where a first roll is proximate the opening to a second position where a second roll is proximate the opening. The roll sensor mechanism can detect whether a diameter of the first roll is less than a threshold value when the roll support assembly is in the first position. In response, the controller can instruct the motor to rotate the roll support assembly from the first position to the second position.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing portions of a continuous web of tissue from a tissue roll is disclosed. Further, the invention relates to a method for dispensing portions of a continuous web of tissue from a tissue roll. The dispenser comprises a first tissue roll position for receiving a tissue roll and a second tissue roll position for receiving a tissue roll; an output mechanism for supplying portions of tissue; a transfer mechanism for releasably holding and transferring an end of a tissue roll in the first tissue roll position to the output mechanism; wherein the transfer mechanism is adapted to transfer the end of the tissue roll in the first tissue roll position to the output mechanism when the second tissue roll position is empty.

Abstract: A multi-tape dispenser, for dispensing reversed-conjoined and non-reversed-conjoined adhesive tape end portions from adhesive tape rolls, includes a housing structure configured with at least two rotatable tape-roll hubs installed perpendicularly to the front wall panel and rear wall panel so that at least one of the tape rolls installed on the rotatable tape-roll hubs is reversed and at least one adhesive edge of at least one tape roll is conjoined partially and longitudinally to a reversed adhesive edge of at least one rear tape roll when the reversed-conjoined tape end portions are being dispensed simultaneously on the same path. The multi-tape dispenser may be manufactured for use with a combination of two tape-roll hubs or three tape-roll hubs with tape rolls mounted thereto to produce reversed-conjoined tape end portions. The dispenser can also be used for dispensing at least one tape roll without being conjoined.

Abstract: A clamshell dispenser for film bags includes a planar base shaped to fit beneath a bag roll. Side travel limiters are attached to the base. A retaining bracket is hingedly mounted adjacent a front edge of the base to prevent the roll from moving outwardly from the dispenser when the bracket is latched. The bracket opens for introduction of the roll. An upward facing snagging hook engages either a chisel cut or a perforation in bags from the roll. A downward facing snagging hook may be attached to the retaining bracket. An adapter for a bin includes first and second bag dispensers mounted to a fixture. The fixture is shaped to fit within the bin. First and second axles are orthogonally attached to the fixture. The axles mount first and second positioning wheels that are located to slidably engage first and second integral channels in vertical sides of the bin.

Abstract: An improved towel dispenser includes a rotatable driveshaft mounted in a one-way clutch bearing fitted with a pinion which engages a vertically oriented press bar assembly including at its lower portion a rack which engages the pinion to advance paper towel through a dispensing nip upon pivotable motion of the press bar assembly. A dispensing chute located below the dispensing nip includes a lower shelf configured to direct web forwardly toward the front portion of a dispenser. The gear rack is preferably an internal gear rack integrally formed with a unitary press bar assembly member. The dispensing chute is configured such that an angle between a cutting-blade and the outer lip of the shelf makes an angle with a vertical of at least about 25°.

Abstract: A bandage strip includes a plurality of flat adhesive bandage packages of conventional configuration, having sealed therein an adhesive bandage with a pad and an adhesive substrate for adhering to a patient and holding the pad in place on the patient's skin. The packages are adhered to an elongated substrate in end-to-end, spaced relation to form a flat, elongated bandage strip, with perforations in the substrate between the packages. A user can dispense a length of substrate, sever it at the perforations, and remove the bandage from the substrate for use in the conventional manner. A bandage dispensing device is attachable to the wrist of a user for convenient dispensing of bandages from a strip of individually packaged bandages.

Abstract: An adapter for a support enclosure bin for a roll of thermoplastic bags is described. The bin has a half round cylindrical wall, first and second vertical side walls attached to a supporting rim. The rim has spaced apertures for mounting the bin to a surface that has an opening that permits passage of outer surfaces of the walls but not the rim. The side walls have integral channels that provide support for a rod for a wide roll of bags. The adapter includes first and second bag dispensers for vertically folded coreless roll mounted bags. Each of the dispensers has first and second side panels that are attached together with a connecting link that aligns the front edges and bottom edges of the dispensers. First and second axles are mounted adjacent the outer side panels of the dispensers with positioning wheels that engage the integral channels of the bin.

Abstract: An offset, double-sided tape dispenser. The dispenser mounts two independent rolls of single surface adhesive tape on a common spindle. One of the rolls is inverted resulting in one roll wound clockwise and the other roll wound counter clockwise. The tapes are simultaneously drawn from the two rolls through a guide, across a roller and then a cutter. The clockwise wound roll tape has its adhesive surface facing upward as the tape crosses the roller. The counter clockwise wound roll tape has its adhesive surface facing downward as the tape crosses the roller. The clockwise wound roll tape is positioned beneath the counter clockwise wound tape as the tape passes through the guide. This results in the counter clockwise tape being joined to the clockwise tape as both tapes pass over the roller. The resulting double sided adhesive tape is then formed into desired lengths by the cutter.

Access to the lower section (101) is provided via an access door (124). An upper cartridge containing section (128) includes a dispensing clearance (126) located horizontally between an upper edge of a front wall (122) and an access door (124). A cutting edge (128) is assembled to a top of the front wall (122).

Abstract: A powered dispenser for dispensing individual sheet segments from a continuous roll of sheet material provided with spaced tear lines comprises a powered feed mechanism, a releasable, powered drive mechanism, a powered transfer mechanism, a pair of web sensing sensors, a capacitive sensing system providing automatic sensitivity adjustment, and control circuitry. A dual power supply system provides a mechanical lock-out functionality, and the control system is protected from electrostatic build-up on the surface of the feed roller. The web sensor, and an antenna plate of the capacitive sensing system, are provided on respective printed circuit boards mounted in overlying relation. Utilizing signals received from the pair of web sensors and the capacitive sensing system, the control circuitry senses the presence of a user to activate the powered drive mechanism, and prevents further dispensing of the sheet material until a previously dispensed segment is separated from the roll.

Abstract: A storage unit/workstation is described which allows efficient storage and use of several rolls of package wrapping material in conjunction with the tools needed to perform such wrapping. The storage unit/workstation includes a cabinet wherein the rolls of wrapping material are mounted to allow the wrapping material to be dispensed by unspooling it from the rolls. A working platform is situated below the cabinet so that the user may place a package on the platform and wrap it with wrapping material pulled from the cabinet. The platform may be stowed when not in use.

Abstract: A dual use tape dispenser consisting of a base frame assembly and a cutting blade assembly pivotally connected to the base frame assembly. Integral with the base frame assembly is an array of pins positioned for holding different size reels of tape. Tape from reels of packaging tape is threaded in one and/or two ways so the tape dispenser can be used as a hand-held and/or a desk-top tape dispenser.

Abstract: The present invention 10 discloses a tape dispenser having a plurality of spindles 26 that will hold various width tape rolls 14 within a housing 30 containing compartments for the tape rolls. The housing 30 is comprised of a rigid material having a plurality of grooves 28 on opposing walls of the housing for axially mounting spindles 26 holding tape rolls 14 therewith. There are serrated members 20 extending from the housing 30 enabling tape to be sheared into any length needed. Cover 16 also has pivots 22 and a locking element 24.

Abstract: A dispenser having a transfer mechanism for transferring between a first source and a second source of sheet material, and a method for transferring between the first source and the second source. Dispensing is transferred from a first source to a second source upon an absence of sheet material from the first source. The transfer mechanism includes a transfer roller with a slot to receive a free end of sheet material from the second source. The transfer roller also includes a plurality of raised portions, the raised portions are free to rotate through a dispensing roller when there is an absence of sheet material from the first source. This rotation introduces the free end of sheet material from the second source to the dispensing roller, and allows dispensing from the second source. Afterwards, the transfer roller is set to receive sheet material from a new source of sheet material.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved gift wrap storage and dispensing device, comprising a container and a lid, which are rotatable with respect to one another. Wrapping paper is stored on dowels within the container and is dispensed through openings in the side wall of the container. The wrapping paper is cut using a cutting device positioned on the outside wall of the container. Similarly, the lid contains a dispensing housing for storing rolls of tape, ribbon, etc., which can be dispensed through openings in the side wall of the lid and cut using a cutting device.

Abstract: An electrically powered tape dispenser device has a housing with a base and a top cover that opens to allow placement and removal of a tape roll supply within a tape well. Operation of a push button control actuates a motor and a pinch roller assembly to drivingly engage and pull a tape segment of select length from the roll supply for dispensing through an open mouth of the housing. The dispensed tape segment is separated from a remainder of the supply by a cutting blade fixed to the housing at the mouth. The tape segment length is preset by pushing a “count up” button to increase length or a “count down” button to decrease length. Another embodiment provides the additional function of dispensing adhesive-backed labels or stamps (e.g. postage stamps) from a roll. A lever is provided to move the pinch roller assembly into engagement with a backing strip that is pulled from the stamp roll, causing one or more stamps to be separated from the backing strip and dispensed through a stamp chute.

The guide roller defines at least one annular groove therein. A plurality of stripper guides are partially disposed within the annular grooves of the guide roller and drive roller. The stripper guides prevent the web from wrapping around the guide roller and the drive roller.

The device has two substantially parallel pins (4,4') for supporting and unwinding paper (10) from the rolls (A, B) with two openings (20) corresponding to the pins in the lower portion of the device contained within a housing. A sector (5) shaped as part of a circle is mounted to freely rotate about one of the pins. The sector (5) has a peripheral flange (5a) that is adapted to obstruct the corresponding opening (20). When the sector (5) is kept at a first, substantially vertical position, the opening (20) is obstructed. A spring (15) urges the sector (5) to rotate until reaching a second position at which point, the previously obstructed opening (20) is made accessible.

Abstract: A dispenser apparatus for holding, dispensing, and severing lengths of flexible duct connector material from side-by-side coils thereof includes a guide station and a cut-off station shiftable laterally of the apparatus and into alignment with a selected one of the coils. The coils are supported on an anti-friction cradle which includes anti-friction rollers extending laterally of the device, the ends of the rollers being supported on chains hung in catenary fashion. Since the rollers are capable of moving toward and away from each other, they are free to define a cradle which conforms to the periphery of the specific coil which is being fed to assure that the connector material may be withdrawn for processing with the lowest possible force.

The wires are spaced apart to provide a dispensing opening through which the webbing passes. The wires of the dispensing nozzle frictionally engage the webbing to limit the amount of webbing withdrawn, and to support the webbing during a tearing operation.

The movement of one feed roller relative to the other feed roller actuates the transfer mechanism which introduces the reserve web to the feed nip.

The lid is not removable from the second compartment when the front housing is in the closed position. A lock is included for locking the front housing in the closed position.

Abstract: A post for separately supporting, separating and labeling a number of spools of thread, wire or fishing line, the post being formed of a resilient material such as rubber with a number of rings spaced at a distance from each other greater than the width of the spools. The spools having a central opening slightly greater than the diameter of the post but less than the outer diameter of the flexible spacer rings. The spools are separated rotationally from each other by the spacer rings. Alternatively, a groove is provided around the inside surface of the central spool openings for engaging each of the rings on the post. A disk is mounted on one end of the post and includes a number of notches for labeling and engaging the base end of the thread, wire or line from each spool. One notch includes a blade for cutting off the end of the thread, wire or line. A hole in the opposite end of the post is provided to secure the entire device to the fisherman's vest.

Abstract: An appliance for forming and dispensing masking from a roll of masking paper and a roll of masking tape is suitably formed as a lightweight plastic molding having a compact profile. The appliance is generally symmetrical about a front to back plane whereby it is non-handed, so permitting the appliance to be oriented at all times in a preferred manner when the masking is applied to a surface.

Abstract: A device for dispensing one or more rolls of adhesive tape bearing indicia, and a method of applying such tape to a food container to maintain the container closed. The device includes a stand supporting a tube upon which rolls of indicia bearing tape are located. The tape may be drawn from the roll and laid across a platform located laterally of the tube. A first end of the platform is a biased hold down bar to maintain the tape in proper alignment. A second end of the platform includes a severing blade. The rolls of tape are oriented upon the tube such that the adhesive side of the tape is located furthest from the display platform to prevent sticking of the tape to the platform. The length of the platform is such that the indicia upon the tape is visible to the user. In use, the user will move the top and bottom trays of a food container to the closed position and secure the container using any integral fixing elements.

Abstract: A storing and dispensing container comprising a carton (10) including opposing end panels (15) having corresponding recesses 25 therein for seating a cutting means (24) which is releasably engageable therein. Slots (16) and pendent slots (56) are included in end panels (15) so that a rod(18)with a roll of paper (20) thereon can be supported in the slots (16), (56). Rod (18) includes an additional length (22) at one of its ends adjacent one of the end panels (15) for mounting a tape dispenser (21) thereon and which is handy for assisting securing paper torn off by the cutter (24) onto an article, box or the like. Carton folds up into a closed mode for storing and carrying one of more rolls of paper (20) therein.

Abstract: A dispenser for toilet tissue comprises a housing in which are disposed parallel primary and secondary spindles adapted to carry primary and remnant rolls of tissue. The secondary spindle is located below the primary spindle and is spaced horizontally from a vertical centerline of the housing. The secondary spindle is slidably mounted in inclined slots, so that the stub roll, as it is depleted, gradually gravitates away from the vertical centerline, or alternatively the secondary spindle is pivotably mounted to the housing.

Abstract: A system for dispensing insect screen in retail stores includes a roll of screen, a box having a specially configured slot, and a holder for the box, all arranged such that the screening can be pulled from the box and cut to desired lengths.

Abstract: Household food wraps are commercially available in a standard 12" nominal width roll. The present invention provides an article of manufacture for dispensing narrower strips of food wrap. The food wrap dispenser of the present invention includes a quadrilateral carton and a roll divider for receipt of a plurality of substandard size rolls of food wrap. A method of selectively converting standard size rolls of food wrap to substandard size rolls is also disclosed.

Abstract: A hand held and manually operable masking machine having a sheet material housing on which is rotatably supported a paper roll and a pair of adhesive tape rolls. One tape roll dispenses adhesive tape to overlap a portion of one edge of the paper roll with the other tape roll dispensing adhesive tape to overlap a portion of the opposite edge of the paper roll. The front edge of the housing is formed into a cutting blade which is to be manually used to cut through the paper roll once the desired extended length has been obtained with this cutting also occurring through the tape that is secured to the side edges to the paper roll.
