By Optional Drive Trains Patents (Class 226/51)
  • Patent number: 5882129
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to prevent a sheet of continuous-form paper from slackening when it is fed back in a printer capable of feeding both sheets of continuous-form paper and cut-form paper.

  • Patent number: 4413808
Abstract: A portable, power-driven device capable of being carried by an operator to force stiff but bendable fishing tape through an electrical conduit until engageable means on the free end of the tape project from the conduit. The free end of a length of wire is removably secured to the engageable means, with the device now being operated to retract the tape into a storage reel that forms a part thereof. As the tape is retracted, the wire is drawn through the conduit. The device is of such structure that it may exert a pull on the wire of a far greater magnitude than that possible by a single person, and as a result extremely long lengths of wire may be drawn through a conduit or other elongate confined space.

  • Patent number: 4328742
Abstract: A mechanism for use in a strapping apparatus including a pair of like rolls which have meshing gears as flanges and which are rotated by a drive means through a clutch system to both feed and tension strap without stopping or reversing the drive means. Strap is laced about and nipped by the rolls and, as the rolls rotate at the same speed and the roll flanges travel with the strap, abrasion along the strap sides and edges is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4176776
Abstract: A single rotary cam has one cam track which controls movement of the transport claw in both the forward and reverse film-transport directions. The cam track is so configured that the claw motion constituting the one-frame advancement motion for forward transport constitutes part of the return stroke during reverse transport, and vice versa. The cam-track configuration is such that, despite the constancy of the motion performed by the claw, the position of projected frames is unchanged when switching over between forward- and reverse-transport modes of operation.

  • Patent number: 4079637
Abstract: The invention relates to a tape handling device associated with a picture-taking (recording) or reproducing (replay) device having a drive motor, a transmission gear to be actuated by the motor, a reversing device for reversing the sense of rotation of the drive consisting of the motor and gear train, and a control device likewise actuated by the motor.

  • Patent number: 3994426
Abstract: A mechanism for driving a computer form web along a predetermined path includes a ratchet wheel having two sets of oppositely facing teeth, mounted on a support shaft for rotation. The wheel is driven in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions. A drive gear in meshing engagement with a plurality of gears for driving the sprocket mechanism transporting the computer form web is also mounted on the support shaft for rotation. The gear is joined to a coupling plate also mounted on the support shaft for rotation thereon. The coupling plate includes first and second pawls which extend therefrom for cooperative engagement with the ratchet teeth sets, respectively. Pawl actuator arms also mounted on the coupling plate are movable to first and second positions and when in a first position engage the pawls to maintain the latter out of engagement with respective ratchet teeth sets. Pawl actuator arm engaging levers are mounted adjacent the pawl actuator arms and are movable to first and second positions.

  • Patent number: 3974951
Abstract: There is described a record material feed mechanism for use in an electronic cash register for feeding a record member to a printing station wherein data is printed on print lines located on the record member during the operation of the cash register. The feed mechanism will automatically position each succeeding print line of the record member adjacent the printing station on successive printing operations of the cash register. Included in the feed mechanism are a pair of cam actuated gear segments which control the length of movement of the record member between a home position and a position adjacent the printing station in the cash register. During the feeding of the record member to the printing station, the gear segments are positioned in tandem to move the record member a predetermined length while in a feed-out operation, the segments are positioned in an overlap condition to move the record member a distance which is one print line less than the feed-in movement.
