Circumferentially Opposite Pins Engage Looped Material Patents (Class 226/78)
  • Patent number: 4619388
Abstract: An automatic paper sheet supplying apparatus to be used in combination with a paper sheet processing apparatus having a motor, comprises a pair of side plates mounted on the processing apparatus, a plurality of connecting bars connecting the side plates, an automatic long paper sheet supplying apparatus which is mounted on the pair of side plates and receives a rotational force from the motor so as to supply a long paper sheet to the processing apparatus, an output transmitting gear, arranged in the long paper sheet supplying apparatus, for receiving the rotational force from the motor, and an automatic base-sized paper sheet supplying apparatus, detachably mounted on the connecting bars to be supported thereby, for receiving the rotational force from the motor through the output transmitting gear so as to supply basic-sized paper sheets to the processing apparatus when the basic-sized paper sheet supplying apparatus is mounted on the connecting bars.

  • Patent number: 4281804
Abstract: A tensioning device for materials of tape form particularly adapted for metic printers and comprises a floating element situated between free sections of a paper tape installed in return fashion in a driving mechanism. The floating element is provided with displacement transmission elements formed by spiked belts of which the spikes are engaged in perforations in the tape. The tensioning of the tape is provided by a weight hooked to the floating element such that the tape section emerging from the driving mechanism is driven, via the floating element, by the tape section which enters the driving mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4227821
Abstract: A web drive mechanism to advance the print medium of a line or serial printer apparatus including a first stationary guide track for guiding the print medium along a defined path intermediate a medium supply position and a printing position, a platen about the printing position for receiving the medium, at least one rotor drive member having a rotor positioned adjacent to the guide track along the defined path intermediate the supply position and the platen with the outer peripheral surface of the rotor being adjacent to at least a portion of the arcuate path of the guide track to permit the print medium to travel intermediate the guide track and the rotor, the rotor drive member including a first medium gate for urging the print medium in engagement with the peripheral surface of the rotor as the medium advances intermediate the supply position and the platen, and a second medium gate for holding the print medium as it advances intermediate the platen and a medium take-up position, and a drive means engaging

  • Patent number: 4213551
Abstract: A recording carrier transport and feed unit is disclosed which includes attached together transport and feed assemblies for moving a side margin punched recording carrier web to, and withdrawing it from, the intermediate carrier of an electrostatic printer or copier. The transport assembly includes spaced parallel drive belts, each trained about at least three spaced wheel means, one of which is rotatably driven. One span of the belts presents the recording carrier to the feed device while another span withdraws the recording carrier from the feed device. The feed device presents the recording carrier to the intermediate carrier and directs it away from the intermediate carrier. The entire unit is pivotable towards and away from the intermediate carrier.

  • Patent number: 4089490
Abstract: A film transport mechanism for use in conjunction with a motion picture projector is a free standing unit carrying supply and takeup reels and associated drive motors. The arbors for the supply and takeup reels are generally parallel, and positioned therebetween is a free running sprocket assembly. Film direction rollers cause film from the supply reel to run over one side of the sprocket and additional rollers to direct the return film from a projector over the opposite side of the sprocket whereby the rate of film advance to the projector and return are equal. The transport mechanism transfers a major portion of the torque required to pull film off the supply reel from the projector to the transport thereby significantly reducing the tension on the film going to and from the projector. The entire assembly includes a support structure having a vertical column supporting the motors, arbors and the control electronics, and constitutes a conduit for virtually all electrical interconnections.

  • Patent number: 4010882
Abstract: A sprocket drive device for a computer form feeder for transporting a computer printout web having predeterminedly spaced apertures along the edges thereof along the upper and lower surfaces and about a free end of a copyboard overlying the copy platen of a copying machine, including a pin chain assembly mounted on spaced driven sprocket and idler wheels. The pin chain assembly includes a plurality of predeterminedly spaced pins extending therefrom for receipt in the spaced apertures of the web. The pins travel along an endless path between the wheels spaced from the upper and lower surfaces of the copyboard, respectively. A guide and stripper member is provided on the sprocket drive for guiding the web from the pins to the copyboard surface and vice-versa while avoiding the tearing of the web material about the apertures. The guide and stripper member includes upper and lower central portions extending between the wheels for guiding the web along upper and lower planes passing through the base of the pins.

  • Patent number: 4000803
Abstract: A printer-plotter system includes a vacuum-buffered bidirectional paper drive system for moving paper uniformly forward and backward over a sprocketed platen and sprocketed drum. The platen comprises a stationary portion with a flat region and a rotatable sprocketed portion. The platen and drum are connected by a drive belt for synchronous rotation of the drum with the sprocketed portion of the platen to assure proper contact of a print head with the flat region of the stationary portion and proper movement of paper by the sprocketed portion after printing.
