Publication number: 20140175144Abstract: A hand-operated coil stapler includes a main body having a linkage system provided therein; a staple driving mechanism assembled to a front end of the main body and including a complex staple driver; a pusher and magazine assembly connected to a bottom of the main body and including a push rod having a staple-pushing spring fitted therearound; and a coil staple unit formed of bar-shaped staples. When the main body is downward pushed, the linkage system brings the complex staple driver to bend and drive a first staple of the coil staple unit into a workpiece. Meanwhile, the complex staple driver comes into contact with the push rod and forces the latter backward to compress the staple-pushing spring. When the main body is released, the staple-pushing spring elastically moves the push rod forward, bringing a subsequent staple to a position below the complex staple driver for a next stapling operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 23, 2013Publication date: June 26, 2014Applicant: PATEK PNEUMATICS CO., LTD.Inventor: Hsien Cheng CHEN

Patent number: 7021513Abstract: Staple forming arrangement (11) forming part of a stapler (1) in which a workpiece (6), primarily a sheaf of papers, is stapled together. The arrangement includes a bending punch (15), which is driven by a drive mechanism (12,13) and which bends elongated staple blanks (8) over a bending cushion (15). The staple blanks, which are stored in a magazine (7) in the stapler and are fed to the bending cushion by an integral feeding device (14), are bent essentially into a U-shape having a crown (24) and a first leg (25) and a second leg (26), respectively and whereupon the bending punch is withdrawn from the bent staple by the drive mechanism. Patent number: 6986449Abstract: A staple-former (11) in a stapler (1) that uses a driver blade (10) to drive staples (17), preferably into a sheaf of paper (16). The stapler contains a magazine (7) of staple blanks (8). A feed device (6) advances staple blanks onto an integral bending die (15) for bending into staple shape. Each staple has a first and a second leg (18, 19) and a crown portion (20). The staple-former (11) includes first and second leg-bending parts (24, 26) and crown-forming part (28). A staple forms when a drive device (12, 13, 14), moves the leg-bending parts (24, 26) and the crown-forming part over the bending die (15) causing a staple blank (8) to assume a staple shape. The staple-former then reciprocates to its starting positions, the staple advances to the driver blade (10), and a biasing element (32) urges the crown-forming part (28) away from the staple-former (11).Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2002Date of Patent: January 17, 2006Assignee: Isaberg Rapid ABInventors: Olle Strååt, Marcus Borjesson

Patent number: 5660314Abstract: A stapler comprises a stapler head which accommodates a strip of wire staple blanks and is pivotable between a starting position and a working position, in which it is applied against a sheaf of papers. A staple shaper shapes the blanks into substantially U-shaped staples, and a staple driver releases the thus-formed staples from the strip and drives them one by one into the sheaf of papers. A pivotable operating device reciprocates the staple shaper and the staple driver. A drive device is adapted to pivot the operating device in such a manner that it causes the staple driver to drive a staple into the sheaf of papers in a driving stroke and causes the staple shaper to shape the following staple in a shaping stroke, as well as adapted to pivot the stapler head to its working position before the staple driver performs the driving stroke and retain it there during the driving stroke of the staple driver.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 1995Date of Patent: August 26, 1997Assignee: Isaberg ABInventors: Lars-Inge Magnusson, Olle Str.ang..ang.t, Trygve Gustafsson

Patent number: 5570832Abstract: An apparatus for stapling printed sheets includes a conveying apparatus having a plurality of sequentially spaced, saddle-shaped supports. The printed sheets straddle the sequentially spaced supports. A shaping body is rotatingly disposed on a first axis, and receives and conveys a wire segment. A stapling head holder is rotatingly driven about a second axis parallel to the first axis. At least one stapling head is radially displaceably seated in a guide arrangement on the stapling head holder. The stapling head has a bending apparatus having an end with an opening forming a guide. The opening is penetrated by the shaping body for receiving the wire segment from the shaping body, and shaping the wire segment into a staple. The stapling head further has a driver that forces the staple through the printed sheets positioned on the supports. The driver and the staple are guided by the guide formed by the opening of the bending apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 1994Date of Patent: November 5, 1996Assignee: GRAFA-Holding AGInventor: Jorg Meier
