Abstract: A food container includes a bottom panel and sidewalls pivotally connected to the bottom panel. A lid is pivotally connected to at least one sidewall to open and close the food container. A divider panel having at least one slot is inserted into any one of a plurality of slots in a spacer panel to create an adjustable compartment arrangement inside an internal cavity of the food container. The divider panel includes a groove that provides a recess between the divider panel and a sidewall of the food container that can accommodate a lip of the lid.

Abstract: The application discloses a blank configured to be mounted on a bicycle rack. The blank includes a bottom section that forms an item supporting surface when the blank is folded into a folded pannier configuration. The blank includes a lateral face section hingedly connected with the bottom section at a first fold line. The blank includes a central, vertical axis extending between proximal and distal ends of the blank. The blank is adapted to be folded from an unfolded blank configuration into a folded pannier configuration. In the unfolded blank configuration, opposing sides of the blank relative to the central, vertical axis are asymmetrical.

Abstract: Disclosed is a cartridge for medical and hospital waste, which comprises: a tubular body (1) provided with a base (3) and which is folded flat along the centre of the base (3) and along folding lines (12) on the tubular body, forming a flat body that can be stored easily; and a grid (2) made of sheets of card, which is disposed folded inside the tubular body (1) and which, when the cartridge is unfolded, opens to occupy the entire inside surface of the cartridge, defining cavities for receiving the medical waste. The base (3) can be formed from stiff card.

Abstract: The present teachings are direct at tray, components in a tray, methods for assembling trays, and articles, such as boxes that include a tray. The covers and/or tray inserts include one or more features that result in one or more of the following benefits: improved performance during or after assembly of a tray, improved ease of assembling a tray, or improved appearance of a tray, or any combination thereof. The features can be used alone. However, a number of the features when combined, result in particularly robust assembly processes.

Abstract: A reclosable pour-spout packaging, such as a bag, has a top handle and can be manufactured on a form-fill-seal machine. A reclosable structure can reversibly close and open the interior of the packaging. The handle can comprise a cut extending through the packaging. An additional seal area in the packaging can provide support so that a punch and die assembly can punch or cut the handle in the additional seal area. Additionally or alternatively, a laser device, a blade, a knife, or another cutting tool can form the handle in the additional seal area. The additional sealed area can provide stiffness for carrying the packaging and also prevent access into the packaging where the handle is made. The additional seal area can be positioned below the top seal of the packaging so that less material is used for the handle.

The leak catching apparatus may include a plate having a first section, a center section, and a second section, wherein the first section is non-coplanar with the second section; an absorbent material housed on the first section; one or more absorbent material attachments coupled to the first section to secure the absorbent material to the first section; and one or more plate attachments coupled to the first section and the second section, wherein the one or more plate attachments temporarily secures the first section and the second section to a sealed system that contains liquid.

Abstract: A foldable liquid retaining bowl made from a single sheet of flexible material and a pair of standard fastening devices. The sheet of material is capable of being folded into a bowl form with a base and four side walls without needing to be cut or otherwise modified. The side walls are held together on each end by the fastening device such as a glued joint. The sheet of material is treated on at least one side with a water resistant coating. The folded bowl form is capable of being folded flat for storage and or transport. A preferred embodiment includes the sheet of material being made of Kraft paper coated with Polylactide acid (PLA).

Abstract: A method of forming a carton or container for food or other items having a model vehicle configuration is provided that accurately depicts the contours and dimensions of the vehicle to enhance its appeal. An elongated, cardboard-like sheet is presented that is die cut to fold into a three dimensional model of the vehicle. The sheet's first end is folded along a first pair of transverse fold lines and secured in a position to present an open cabin, rear deck and tail of the vehicle, whereby the open cabin may provide the container for food and other items. The sheet's central portion is folded upwardly along a pair of longitudinal fold lines to present the sides of the vehicle, and the second end portion is folded along a second pair of transverse fold lines and secured in position to present the hood and front windshield of the vehicle.

Abstract: A convertible food transporting box consists of a single blank which, when appropriately folded, serves the dual purposes of transporting food, i.e. pizza, and elevating the box for displaying and serving the pizza. The lid section of the box has a plurality of perforated inserts as part of the lid section itself. When used to transport pizza or like food, the box is a standard pizza box type container. To convert the box to an elevated food display and serving tray, the perforated inserts are pushed out of and locked to the lid section, such that they extend outwardly from the lid section. The lid section is then rotated to a position beneath the container section, such that the extended inserts act as legs to support the box, now converted to a food tray.

Abstract: An article may include a single piece of material, such as corrugated cardboard, with scores situated such that when folded along the scores a square or rectangular container is formed with first and second adjacent triangular subcontainers. The article may include locking tabs to join the first triangular subcontainer with slots in the second triangular container which results in a near square box. The insert subcontainers complete with 2 bottles are then placed in a box for shipping. The added protection and buffer zones provide additional protection in the event the carton receives a sudden impact such as being dropped.

Abstract: A demountable packing box of the present invention comprises a main body, an upper cover located at the upper portion of the main body, a lower cover located at the lower portion of the main body, and a plurality of connecting bands respectively connected to the upper cover and the lower cover. The main body is a flat plate with two connecting portions at opposite sides thereof after disassembled. A pair of fixing parts matable with each other is respectively disposed at the two connecting portions of the main body. The upper cover is a flat plate with a predetermined shape. A plurality of upper tabs respectively extends outwards from the periphery of the upper over. The lower cover is a flat plate with a shape corresponding to the upper cover. A plurality of lower tabs extends outwards from the periphery of the lower cover. The upper portion of the main body is provided with a plurality of upper positioning parts corresponding to the upper tabs of the upper cover.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved system and method for dispensing solid food product containers. It comprises a shaped dispensing tube (62) of a predetermined length, having a plurality of support clips (76) arranged inside the dispensing tube (62) for holding a stack of solid food product containers (70) in place within the tube (62). The dispensing tube (62) preferably includes a bracket (68) for mounting the entire device on a wall or the like. A nested stack of containers (70) is fed into the preferably open top (78) of the dispensing tube (62) until the bottommost container engages (or is engaged by) the support clips (76). This results in the bottommost container extending a predetermined distance below the bottom of the dispensing tube (62). By minimizing the amount the bottommost container extends below the dispensing tube (62), a user's ability to take more than one solid food container at a time is greatly minimized.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention is a combination of a pizza box and leveling device for the pizza box. The pizza box has at least one sidewall that is formed having two adjacent panels with a cavity between the adjacent panels, and, a bottom that has at least one slot. The at least one slot is substantially aligned with and provides access to the cavity. And, the leveling device has at least one portion thereof formed for insertion into the at least one slot and further into the cavity of the sidewall of the pizza box so as to detachably attach the leveling device to the pizza box.

Abstract: A carton capable of containing a plurality of food items is disclosed. The carton can be separated into two portions or trays, each of which can be converted into a tray for heating a food item in a microwave oven. One or both of the trays may be designed to elevate the food product from the turntable or floor of the microwave oven to enhance the efficiency of the heating process. One or both trays may include a microwave energy interactive to enhance browning and/or crisping of the food item.

Abstract: A carton is provided for holding and positioning articles for easy access. The carton may also be used for dispensing articles that contain products such as food and beverages. The carton includes various unique features, including an opening feature that provides easy access to the articles, and a tilt feature that positions the articles at the front end of the carton. Also provided is a carton blank, such as a paperboard blank, which is cut to a specific shape, and creased and scored, cut or perforated in specific areas. Methods for forming the blanks into cartons and for operating the opening and positioning features are also described.

Abstract: A dispenser for rectangular cans having a rectangular elongated box dimensioned to hold a plurality of the cans in a side-by-side relationship. The box includes a top panel, bottom panel, first end panel, second end panel, and two side panels. A dispensing opening is formed by perforations through the first end panel to allow a single can to be removed from the box. An elevation member is formed by perforations through the opposite end of the box for elevating the opposite end of the box relative to the first end panel.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a board tray (7), to a tray blank feasible for the method, and to a tray obtained by the method. The method comprises moulding a blank of plastic-coated board into the tray (7) comprising a bottom (3), side walls (4), as well as a rim flange (5), the blank being compressed in a direction transverse to the tray's side walls and rim flange. According to the invention, the blank is made thinner on its side opposite to the plastic coating such that, during the moulding process, the plastic coating double-folds at the compressed parts and stabilizes compressions (8) by becoming sealed to itself. Making the blank thinner is most conveniently effected by carving the board layer with a laser beam for having the fiber material predominantly or completely removed from where the cuts are located. As a result of the moulding process, the tray's rim flange (5) develops a smooth plastic surface which enables closing the tray hermetically with a heat-sealed cover.

The apparatus comprises a box member formed of molded paper pulp having a first predetermined shape and a first predetermined size. The box member has a base portion and a wall portion each of the base portion and the wall portion have an interior surface and an exterior surface. A plurality of raised portions having a second predetermined shape are disposed on the interior surface of the base portion. Such raised portions cover greater than 50 per cent of the interior surface of the base portion of the box member. A molded paper pulp lid member is engageable with the box member. The lid member has a second predetermined shape and a second predetermined size and has both an interior surface and an exterior surface. There is at least one closure means having a first portion formed on the lid member and a second portion formed on the box member for closing such box after such hot food product is placed therein.

Abstract: A container (1) for the transport of a foodstuff comprises an upper and a lower container half (2, 3) which are interconnected for pivoting between a closed and an open position (4). Each container half comprises a flat bottom and/or cover wall (5, 6), from which side walls (7, 8, 9, 10) extend essentially obliquely upwards or downwards and outwards to the respective other container half (2, 3). In order to improve the thermal insulation with containers of this nature and at the same time to achieve increased stability, in particular with containers made from paper, cardboard or the like, the bottom and/or cover wall (5, 6) is formed double-walled at least in places. A one-part blank (40) is provided for the manufacture of a container of this nature.

Abstract: A container comprising a top wall, a bottom wall, a front wall, a rear wall, a first side wall, and a second side wall. Each of the walls has a substantially rectangular shape. The rectangular shape of each wall enables the container to be stored easily on a shelf or counter-top. The top wall and portions of the front wall, the rear wall, the first side wall, and the second side wall form a lid. The lid is pivotally attached to the rear wall by a hinge. The lid can be opened by rotation thereof about the hinge. The front wall has at least one recess and the rear wall has at least one recess. The at least one recess of the front wall and the at least one recess of the rear wall are adjacent to the first side wall. The recesses provide a grip feature, which enables the user to manipulate the lid of the container with one hand when the container rests on a flat surface, e.g., a tabletop or a counter top.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a box, namely a pizza box having a bottom wall; a peripheral side wall attached to a periphery of the bottom wall; a top cover including a rear edge hingedly attached to the side wall, a front edge, and two side edges between the front edge and the rear edge. The box is fitted with a serving tray having handles on at least two opposing sides. The serving tray is designed to fit inside the pizza box. The box may contain at least two slits in the top cover, each slit extending along the front edge, side edge or back edge. These slits are configured so that the handles from the serving tray partially fit into each slit thereby providing additional support for the overall structure of the pizza box. This allows the pizza box to be constructed of lighter material with the additional support coming from the handles of the serving tray.

Abstract: A pizza box having a plurality of ribs, which are selectively moveable between a first stored position and a second upright position is provided. The ribs are coupled to at least one actuating strip, which enables the ribs to be simultaneously shifted from the first stored position to the second upright position. The ribs and the actuating strip are formed from the same piece of material. The actuating strip may be configured to interlock with the box to maintain the ribs in the second upright position. There is also a stop tab configured to prevent the actuating strip from moving the ribs beyond a predetermine point.

Abstract: A container primarily for hot (or cold) beverages such as gourmet coffee has an outer shell formed of a stiff sheet material having heat insulating properties such as cardboard which can be erected from a flat storage condition to enclose an inner lining member for containing the liquid. The inner liner is blow molded from a plastics material to form an integral structure including a neck and a handle projecting through openings in the shell so as to be exposed on an exterior of the container for manual transportation and lifting of the container. The use of a blow molded integral liner allows the handle to be integral with the liner and relatively stiff as a tubular member parallel to an inclined upper surface of the liner. An optional folded leg can be provided to allow the liner to be drained through an optional spigot on the neck. An optional accessory box can be slung on a flap engaged around the neck.

Abstract: A carton with a dispenser at one end of the carton which has a tilt platform that is formed in the bottom panel of the carton at the opposite end of the carton to facilitate the rolling of containers contained in the carton toward the dispenser when the dispenser is opened. The tilt platform is an integral part of the bottom panel of the carton and can be torn partially loose and folded to form a tilt platform with a bottom wall, two side walls, two end walls and a locking flap that is inserted into a locking slot on the end of carton away from the dispenser.

Abstract: A pizza box having a plurality of ribs, which are selectively moveable between a first stored position and a second upright position is provided. The ribs are coupled to at least one actuating strip, which enables the ribs to be simultaneously shifted from the first stored position to the second upright position. The ribs and the actuating strip are formed from the same piece of material. The actuating strip may be configured to interlock with the box to maintain the ribs in the second upright position. There is also a stop tab configured to prevent the actuating strip from moving the ribs beyond a predetermine point.

Abstract: An expandable container generally includes at least two walls pivotably coupled along at least two junctures so as to lie generally flat in a collapsed position. The container also includes at least one flap pivotably coupled to at least one of the walls. A pull cord is coupled to the flap such that pulling the cord pivotably moves the flap relative to the walls thereby expanding the walls apart from one another from the collapsed position to an expanded position.

Abstract: A pizza packaging system, pizza packaging blank and method for packaging more than one pizza in a stacked configuration. An upper level insert is provided for insertion into the pizza receiving compartment, the upper level insert being elevated above a bottom panel and providing an upper level surface adapted to receive and support a second pizza. The upper level insert is supported by at least one support flap and may be further supported by at least one support member. In addition, the pizza box packaging system and pizza box blank may be provided with perforations to allow the division of the pizza box for use as plates and/or to facilitate disposal. The upper level insert may also be provided with a venting means to allow heat transfer between the pizza receiving compartments, and/or elevating tabs that elevate the pizza box off a support surface.

Abstract: A method for reducing heat loss of hot pizzeria pizza shipped in corrugated box packaging. The method involves placing a recently-cooked pizzeria pizza into a corrugated box having at least one tab-like structure projecting downward from a wall structure of the box and extending beyond a bottom edge of a wall panel by a distance of at least nine millimeters when the box is in a fully-erected format, whereby the method solves the problem of a downward-warping bottom panel of a loaded corrugated pizza box coming into contact with a cool support surface underneath the box.

Abstract: An apparatus and corresponding method for contouring a container bottom to form carton legs from a standard carton blank through the use of a seal plate and a mandrel pad. The carton legs provide improved free standing stability of the carton.

Abstract: A finger food container formed as a flat carton expandable into a truncated conical configuration with a substantially cylindrical lower portion extending upward to a scoop-forming upper portion. Front and rear walls of the folded carton have lower edges interconnected by a bottom wall which, upon an outward bowing of the front and rear walls, expands therebetween in close conformance thereto for a locking of the front and rear walls in the outwardly bowed positions thereof.

Abstract: A carton with a dispenser at one end of the carton which has a tilt platform that is formed in the bottom panel of the carton at the opposite end of the carton to facilitate the rolling of containers contained in the carton toward the dispenser when the dispenser is opened. The tilt platform is an integral part of the bottom panel of the carton and can be torn partially loose and folded to form a tilt platform with a bottom wall, two side walls, two end walls and a locking flap that is inserted into a locking slot on the end of carton away from the dispenser.

Abstract: A package with bottom panel stand-offs includes a plurality of upstanding side walls, each side wall contiguous or sealed to adjacent side walls, a sealed top panel, and a sealed bottom panel. The sealed bottom panel has a generally planar portion and three stand-offs formed therein. The three stand-offs are non-coplanar with the generally planar region and define a triangular pattern other than a right angle triangle. The stand-offs raise the generally planar portion above and spaced from a surface on which the package rests. A method for forming a stable carton is also disclosed.

Abstract: An expandable container for holding articles includes a pull cord to facilitate expansion of the container. The container includes at least two walls pivotably inter-connectable along at least two junctures. The walls are designed to collapse so as to lie substantially flat in a collapsed position. A flap attachable to at least one of the walls is capable of pivotable movement with respect to the walls so that pivoting the flap with respect to the walls expands the walls apart from one another from the collapsed position to an expanded position. The pull cord is attachable to the flap to facilitate expansion of the container from a collapsed position to an expanded position.
