Abstract: A stackable open topped box and a blank from which it is folded are provided in which a fluted sheet material is cut and sulcated to form a box The flutes extend parallel to the side walls of the box and up the height of the end walls. Each side wall has an indent whereof the ends terminate in a diagonal fold inclined upwardly and towards the adjacent end of the box at an angle of 45°. The fluted sheet material originally adjacent the edge of the indent is folded inwards and downwards as a composite flap such that the flutes of the fluted material are generally vertical and the material extends to substantially the bottom of the box. A strip that is approximately beneath the diagonal fold is flush with the inside of the side wall of the box.

When formed, the container is self-locking and includes top panel assemblies that form additional bearing surfaces. The blank is configured to form a container that includes corners having multiple thicknesses. However, despite the multiple thickness of the corner assemblies, the panels are only adhered in one location per corner. The single adhesion/corner arrangement provides a multi-wall corner arrangement that is strong, yet has flexible applications. The single adhesive/corner adds vertical stacking strength and lateral stability between the panels. The unique approach of only adhering at one place per corner is a space and cost saving improvement that maintains a container integrity and usefulness.

The indexing tabs fit into slots located in the bottom of a stacked container.

Abstract: A box with gusseted corners includes a plurality of walls each connected to and extending generally upright from a base wall thereby forming the box and a plurality of corner gussets each extending between and strengthening adjacent walls. Each corner gusset includes a gusset corner formation (GCF) wall section foldably connected to and extending from one of the walls, the GCF wall section having a first fold extending generally parallel with the foldable connection to the one of the walls, the first fold dividing the GCF wall section into an upper portion and a lower portion, the lower portion extending generally perpendicular from the wall and the upper portion angled towards the wall to form an acute angle therebetween. Finally, the upper portion includes a glue flap section adapted for adhesive connection to the wall such that the upper portion and the lower portion of the GCF wall section cooperate with the wall to form one of the corner gussets.

Abstract: A container made from corrugated paperboard has at least one mitered corner, with an extended edge portion of one of the container walls extending beyond the mitered corner. A bag cuff grab is formed on the extended edge portion to engage and at least temporarily hold in position a bag placed in the container while product is placed in the bag and container. In one embodiment, the container has six sides, with two side walls, two end walls, and two mitered corners. In another embodiment, the container has seven sides, with two side walls, two end walls, and three mitered corners. In a third embodiment, the container has eight sides, with two side walls, two end walls, and four mitered corners. A bag cuff grab can be formed on only one or all of the mitered corners, and can be limited to two bag cuff grabs on diagonally opposite mitered corners. In a preferred embodiment, the bag cuff grab is a notch formed in the extended edge portion.
