Abstract: A flexible packaging laminate has built-in opening/reclose and tamper-evidence features by forming the laminate from an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation to an inner structure. Score lines are formed in both structures to enable an opening to be formed through the laminate by lifting a flap or the like out of the plane of the laminate. The score line through the outer structure defines a larger opening than the score line through the inner structure, such that a marginal region of the outer structure extends beyond the edge of the opening portion of the inner structure. A pressure-sensitive adhesive is used to re-adhere the marginal region to an underlying surface of the inner structure adjacent the opening through the laminate. The outer score line includes at least one tear portion that is torn through upon initial opening, thus indicating the package has been at least partially opened.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to inflatable flexible structures. An inflation region may run longitudinally through the inflatable flexible structure allowing the inflation of chambers. The inflatable chambers may be separable at transverse lines of weakness formed by perforations. The inflation conduit may be free of the perforation. Additionally or alternatively, the perforations may be chevron shaped.

Abstract: The invention relates to a bag (3) having a filling space for bulk material, which filling space is delimited by a lower base (4), a circumferential wall (6), and an upper filling space closure (8) facing away from the lower base (4). The bag has at least one tear-open strip (10) for exposing an opening area (12) of the bag (2), which is delimited by an upper weakening line (14) and a lower weakening line (16), wherein both weakening lines (14, 16) extent parallel to the upper filling space closure (8), and the upper weakening line (14) is positioned between the upper filling space closure (8) and the lower weakening line (16). Abstract: An expandable and collapsible pouch for accommodating an orthodontic appliance while not is use. The pouch may be selectively and repeatedly coupled to a variety of objects. After selectively coupling the pouch to a desired object, the user opens the pouch by expanding at least one collapsible wall or side. The user then removes their orthodontic appliance, inserts it into the open pouch, and then closes the pouch by letting the pouch contract. When the orthodontic appliance is needed again, the user removes the appliance from the pouch and lets the pouch contract into its original position flush against the surface of the object. The pouch is coupled to the object via a magnet disposed within the pouch that is configured to interact with the surface of the object. The pouch also includes a second magnet which assists the pouch maintain a closed position while an appliance is inserted therein.

Abstract: An inflatable web is disclosed. The web includes a first and second film ply sealed together. The transverse seals define first and second inflatable chambers. The web defines a separation region extending at least partially between the first and second inflatable chambers in a substantially transverse direction across the web and configured to facilitate separation of the first and second inflatable chambers. The separation region includes a tear initiation feature that facilitates tearing of the web to separate the inflatable chambers. The separation region includes a tear propagation line including a first plurality of perforations perforation is separated from an adjacent perforation by a land having a first transverse length. A tear initiation feature includes a second plurality of perforations, each perforation separated from an adjacent perforation by a land having a second transverse length, where the first transverse length is longer than the second transverse length.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a re-sealable label for covering an opening of a box includes a sheet of polymer material that includes a re-sealable adhesive on an underside thereof. A liner is adhered to the underside of the sheet of polymer material. The liner is configured to cover the opening and includes a foil layer and a paper layer. The sheet of polymer material includes a line of perforations wherein one or more of the perforations of the line of perforations include a rectilinear portion and a non-rectilinear portion.

Abstract: A package containing a stack of folded disposable absorbent articles, the package being formed of flexible polymeric film, and having a path of perforations or scoring defining a hood opening structure, is disclosed. The hood opening structure may be configured to open proximate the fold noses of the articles for easy tactile identification, grasping and withdrawal of individual ones thereof, and may be configured so as to serve as an effective package reclosure device whereby the package may be used to store the unused supply of articles following opening. The package, and printed commercial artwork and product information on the package surfaces, may be configured such that the fold noses are disposed at the apparent bottom of the package, for improved standing stability when the package is shelved.

Abstract: Non-crosslinked polyolefin films or doped crosslinked polyolefin films (i.e., crosslinked polyolefin films that include a tear-alignment additive) may be used to shrink-wrap packages to create a wrapped package that is protected from tampering and damage but is also easy to open with little effort required by the customer. There is no need for perforations, and the films are quiet when torn, folded, cut, etc. Tear initiating cuts may be formed in the film. A tab may be placed over the film, and when the tab is pulled it applies enough force to start a pair of straight tears. The tears may be parallel or perpendicular to each other. The tears propagate in non-crosslinked polyolefin easily in the machine direction of the film as the tab continues to be pulled. In a doped crosslinked polyolefin, the tears propagate in the machine direction or perpendicular to the machine direction of the film.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to inflatable cushions. The inflatable cushions may include a first ply extensive in longitudinal and transverse directions, and a second ply extensive in the longitudinal and transverse directions. The second ply may be overlayed on and sealed to the first ply such that the plies define therebetween a plurality of inflation chambers. The inflation chambers may be inflatable with a fluid and operable to contain the fluid. At least the first or second ply may include a layer of a first polymer material that has a bi-directional orientation. One or more lines of weakness may be formed by a plurality of perforations that facilitate tearing through the plies to separate portions of the inflatable cushion. At least one of the perforations may have a tip that is oriented at an angle displaced to the transverse direction.

Abstract: An adhesive reusable zipper that may be applied “in situ” to a preexisting bag; this reusable zipper has a single-piece integral cutting device that includes the slider block. The integral cutter includes a tip to pierce the beg and a blade to cut the beg lengthwise along the fastening strip in a non-harmful way, in order to make an opening in the beg so that it may be closed again, making it easy for the user to serve certain food products and close the bag easily and effectively. Furthermore, once the beg is no longer useful, the closure medium may be reused on another bag.

A line of weakness (40) encloses an opening region (42) in a side wall (28) of the packet. The food isolator packaging is folded such that the second section covers the first food layer in the first deposit area and the second food layer in the second deposit area. This allows the cover body to be torn open and the cover body to be pulled off the plurality of stuffing envelopes.

One or more mid-package separable seals are positioned between the top and bottom of a package. The seal in the sealed configuration flexibly provides package integrity with an air-tight seal and connection. In the operated configuration, the seal separates the package into two sections, allowing the package to assume a size that is suitable for the volume of material remaining. In one embodiment, the mid-package separable seal includes a sealing strip that is adhesively attached to the outside of the package and covers a tear line/strip formed in the material of the package. Removal of the sealing strip allows the tear line to separate the package into two sections. In another embodiment, a connecting strip is attached to two sections of the package and the connecting strip has an integral tear line.

Abstract: A product, such as a roll of paper toweling, is wrapped in a polymeric film wrapper having a high degree of molecular orientation. The wrapper is provided with a small perforated starter tab, which a user can depress with their fingers or thumb to break the perforations. Upon breaking the perforations, the user can grasp the tab of the wrapper and thereafter open the package by pulling on the wrapper in the same direction as the molecular orientation direction of the wrapper. The high degree of molecular orientation allows the package to be cleanly torn open with very little effort.

Abstract: An adhesive sticker sheet is disclosed comprising a plurality of adhesive stickers for securing wrapping material about an article. The stickers are arranged on a backing sheet such that at least one pair of stickers are adjoining. In one example the adhesive stickers are arranged to be contiguous across substantially the entire backing sheet. Sticker positions are indicated by markings on the reverse of the backing sheet. A method of manufacturing the sticker sheet is also disclosed. Also disclosed is material for wrapping articles, comprising a sheet having a plurality of lines of weakness subdividing the sheet into a plurality of shapes independently separable from the sheet, each shape adapted for the wrapping of an article.
