  • Patent number: 8770481
Abstract: A ballistic nomograph for determining a firing solution for small arms fire includes a first member and a second member. Alignment of first indicia on the first member with the first indicia on the second member aligns the value of a range to a target with a first environmental condition to align a first adjustment value with an indicator positioned on the first member to provide a firing solution adjustment to a user. A method of determining a firing solution for a small arm by manually manipulating a ballistic nomograph includes determining environmental conditions and aligning the value of a range to a target with a value of environmental condition. The method also includes visually identifying a firing solution adjustment value that corresponds to the particular combination of the range to the target and environmental condition, and making a firing solution adjustment based on the firing solution adjustment value.

  • Patent number: 8584944
Abstract: An apparatus, a kit, and a method of use thereof for assisting snipers or long-range shooters in arriving at a firing solution for adjustment of an aiming system are provided. The apparatus can include a housing including a viewing area and a slide including a matrix of firing solutions printed thereon based on a plurality of density altitude values. The slide is movable with respect to the housing such that a portion of the matrix of firing solutions is viewable in the viewing area of the housing based on a density altitude value. This allows a user to adjust the trajectory compensation of a telescopic sight or any other aiming system by using the current measured density altitude.

  • Patent number: 7703679
Abstract: A sighting system for visually acquiring a target includes an optic device having a transmissive LCD array affixed thereon. The transmissive LCD array includes two or more LCD elements that are separately addressable to provide an aiming point. In embodiments, the sighting system receives information from an input system, such as ammunition information or environmental information, executes a ballistics program to determine ballistics information using the received information, and determines a range to the target. A controller calculates an aiming point using the ballistics information and the target range. The controller then addresses or energizes one of the LCD elements to provide the aiming point.

  • Patent number: 6356449
Abstract: This invention relates to a flexible printed circuit board mounting structure capable of easily soldering an FPC to a printed circuit board. When the flexible printed circuit board (FPC) is soldered upright on the printed circuit board, the FPC holder is secured in the mounting hole of the printed circuit board by the pressure of the elastic portion, to thereby hold the FPC holder by a support projection cut and raised from a chassis. In this state, the terminal portion of the FPC is soldered to the edge portion of the mounting hole of the printed circuit board, thereby ensuring electrical connection of each circuit pattern of the FPC and the printed circuit board.
