House Moving Patents (Class 238/13)
  • Patent number: 9482021
Abstract: A non-crane system for moving a pre-fabricated enclosure is disclosed. The system comprises a sliding beam system and a system of coordinated self-contained hydraulic jack units, which in conjunction allow a pre-fabricated enclosure to be slid horizontally off a semi-trailer, positioned above a pre-laid foundation, and lowered to the foundation. Slide beams are arranged perpendicularly to the semi-trailer and supported by blocks at the height of the pre-fabricated enclosure. A cable attachment plate located on each slide beam connects to the pre-fabricated enclosure and is connected by a cable to winches placed at the end of each slide beam. The rotation of the winches pulls the pre-fabricated enclosure off the semi-trailer and onto the sliding beam system. The system of coordinated self-contained hydraulic jack units, which comprises multiple portable self-contained hydraulic jack units, then lowers the pre-fabricated enclosure to the foundation.

  • Patent number: 7390140
Abstract: A marine pier system employing a payload transport device for transporting persons and material from land to marine craft moored at a distal end of the pier. The payload transport is a movable deck having an electric motor powered by batteries for use in moving the deck and persons/material placed on the deck. The payload transport device is self-contained allowing freedom of movement along a support system eliminating the necessity for decking along the length of the pier. The absence of decking provides a structure upon which wind and wave action and deterioration from sunlight and weathering has little destructive effect, and further allows sunlight to reach the aquatic life below the surface of the water. The movable transport device further permits sunlight to reach all areas of sea grass that are shaded by movement of the transport device to a non-sensitive area when not in use.

  • Patent number: 5201152
Abstract: A containment device for contaminated building demolition. A pre-engineered rigid steel frame building is supported on rail trucks movable on railroad tracks. The railroad tracks are positioned on opposite sides and along the length of the contaminated building to be demolished. The rigid steel frame building has one open end and is sized larger than the width and height of the contaminated building. This allows a portion of the contaminated building to be movably enclosed by the pre-engineered building. A flexible liner material inside the pre-engineered building, at the open end attached to the contaminated building, and at the bottom of the pre-engineered building draped to be in contact with the ground seals off the interior of the pre-engineered building to prevent the release of contaminated particles during demolishing operations. A hoist and cable are used to move the pre-engineered building on the railroad tracks.

  • Patent number: 4892323
Abstract: An all-terrain wheelchair includes a frame which has a steering platform attached to the forward most portion. The steering platform has an operable ground-engaging pneumatic wheel which is controlled by a steering handle. The steering handle may be selectively locked in a fixed position by an operable locking mechanism. A seat is attached to the rearward portion of the frame. Attached to the frame on each side of the seat is an elongated axle with a large diameter, ground-engaging wheel. Each wheel has a plurality of uniformly spaced tubular members secured to the outer peripheral sides of each wheel and extending horizontally outwardly therefrom. A removably attached arm on each axle can be operably engaged with the tubular members to cause forward or rearward motion of the vehicle. An operable winch is mounted forwardly of the seat on the frame.

  • Patent number: 4089426
Abstract: A method and apparatus to assemble two structures wherein a first structure is substantially permanently placed and a second structure is to be moved to be contiguous with the first structure. Traversing assemblies include a movable platform supported on bearings, and traversing means to move the platforms. The structure is supported on three jacks, the jacks resting on the platforms of the traversing units, and the traversing means are operated to move the second structure until it is contiguous with the first structure.
