    Abstract: The invention relates to a rail support point for a rail-guided vehicle for anchoring in a wooden tie, including a plate as a support for the rail, which plate is anchored on both sides of the rail by means of fastening bolts that pass through the plate, the plate having on its bottom side collars that surround the fastening bolts and that engage in correspondingly shaped depressions in the wooden tie, the plate being configured as a ribbed plate having raised ribs that are arranged lateral to the rail foot and that guide the latter and being made of plastic, and the collar being embodied as a slitted ring. Also disclosed is a rail fastening using the rail support.

    Abstract: A concrete railroad tie is provided which utilises a tie 1 having a peripheral rib 5, 1 mm high, around the rail seat to contain adhesive 12 to bond a thick wear plate 8 to the tie. The surface of the tie is well below the top of the plate to reduce the penetration of abrasive materials between the rail pad 13 and the plate 8. This combination inhibits abrasion of the tie for the life of the tie.

The rail seat assembly includes a rail seat basin and a rail seat wherein the rail seat is disposed in the rail seat basin and bonded thereto with an elastomeric material having a void formed therein between the bottom of the rail seat and the bottom of the rail seat basin so as to produce a shear spring which transfers applied vertical load from the rail to the tie. The rail seat assembly is embedded in the tie and the rail anchor is adapted to engage a portion of the rail and to interlock with the rail seat assembly so as to cooperate with the rail seat assembly to fasten the rail to the tie.

    Abstract: A concrete sleeper has an elongate metal insert having a T-slot containing a T-head of a retaining block which bears against a rail foot to retain rail gauge. The retaining block can be rotated by 180.degree. and slid along the T-slot to abut an edge of the foot of a rail, the T-slot being sufficiently long to allow adjustment of the rail on the sleeper. After rail position has been determined, the block location can be fixed by inserting grout into the T-slot. Alternatively, the T-slot can have abutment lugs which determine the block position, and thereby the rail position.

    Abstract: A concrete railroad tie has rail seats defined by plates, which are made from stainless steel or other non-corrodable metal or plastic, cast into the top surface of the tie at the rail seats. The stiffness of the plates should be less than that of the concrete body of the tie and they should have smooth top faces so that they do not cause scuffing of associated rail pads on which the rails rest at the seats. Each plate may have lugs projecting from its underside for providing a mechanical connection with the body of the tie.

    Abstract: A device for clamping a railroad rail to a concrete tie includes a hollow vertical member which projects down into the tie alongside the rail and has an interior bearing surface which projects downwardly and inwardly toward the centerline of the tie. A generally C-shaped spring is disposed with its upper end abutting an upwardly facing surface on the rail and its center portion projecting down into the hollow member, the lower end of the spring abutting the bearing surface. A wedge acts between another interior bearing surface on the member and the center portion of the spring to flex the latter somewhat and cause the spring to clamp the rail tightly against the tie.
