Abstract: The invention relates to a switch and to a method for transporting and installing such a switch, which is equipped with longitudinal sleepers, the sleeper sections (2, 3) of which are or can be coupled in a flexurally stiff manner by means of a connecting device (16) embedded in the sleeper heads (4) so that the switch can be folded for space-saving transport. The divided longitudinal sleepers are oriented relative to each other and installed in such a way that the joints of the longitudinal sleepers are aligned along a straight line, which thus can serve as a rotational axis for folding up a side of the switch. The joints aligned on the rotational axis act similarly to a hinge band so that complete switch segments, such as a switch end part or the core region, can be folded along the line.
Abstract: A portable, folding camera dolly track is assembled from a number of folding track sections, each track section having a parallel pair of rails, each rail having a base and a cylindrical wheel-supporting rail element, and a transverse spacer. A continuous, removable, resilient cap is provided on each wheel-supporting rail element to provide a smooth ride over joints formed by adjoining rail elements.
Abstract: An improved track assembly for TV, video and motion picture camera dollys. The inventive assembly includes first and second rail sections. The rail sections are connected by first and second spreaders. Each spreader is pivotally connected to the rails at each end of the spreader. The spreaders retain the first and second rails in a parallel offset relation in a first, deployed, position at which the first and second spreaders are disposed at a ninety degree angle relative to the first and second rails. In a particular embodiment, the first spreaders are coupled to one another by a set of fasteners which are connected to one spreader at one end and hooked onto another spreader at the other end. In the illustrative embodiment, the first and second rails include a male connector at a first end and a female connector at a second end, whereby each female connector on each rail is adapted to receive and retain a male connector from an abutting rail. Each of the rails has a uniform circular cross-sectional area.
