Abstract: A track for a vehicle comprising at least one rail, a plurality of elongated ties supporting the rail, and a fastener for holding the rail to the ties is provided. At least one tie used in the track comprises a body formed at least partially of polymeric material, and an elongated reinforcement encapsulated within the body, the reinforcement having a top section having a top surface, a bottom section having a bottom surface, and a support section connecting the top section and the bottom section, the bottom section having a greater weight than the top section.

Abstract: A tie-bar for mixed railway tie, constituted by an angle shaped in the vicinity of each of its ends, over an intermediate part joining the central part of the angle to each of its end parts, so that each end part occupies in each block a position in which one of its wings passes at a distance beneath the vertical orifices for passage of rail screws, its other wing passing at a distance along the orifices.

Abstract: A structure for fixing a rail to a tie includes a short stud 24 which is embedded in the concrete 2 of a tie above the longitudinally extending metal strut 4 of the tie and on the axis thereof. Welded to this stud, and even half embedded therein, are upper portions of two arch elements 26 whose branch are divergent on each side of the strut and are bent at their ends in the vicinity of the horizontal central axis of the strut so as to constitute hooks 34.

Abstract: A railway bed wherein a body on which rails are to be fitted is formed of an elastic member and rigid member and a reinforcing member is provided within the elastic member or at least on the lower surface of the rigid member.With such formation, the railway bed has a proper shock absorption and rigidity and can be expected to prevent vibrations and noises.

Abstract: The composite railway tie has performances which are substantially improved over those of ties of the prior art while it results in a saving in weight of metal necessary and in the cost of manufacture.The reinforcement of this tie comprises a lower assembly and an upper assembly each formed by a folded steel wire defining parallel lengths of wire connected by curved portions. The reinforcement also comprises an S-section tie member including a web which is substantially vertical and contained in the vertical plane of symmetry of the tie and two flanges which are roughly horizontal. This tie member may be manufactured on a press or by cold folding relatively cheap flat steel products.
