Abstract: An ozonated water dispenser allows a user to kill bacteria and microbiological organisms on their hands or other objects. The dispenser includes a reservoir, a pump, and an ozonated water delivery means downstream from the pump to dispense pressurized ozonated water in a fine mist. The delivery means includes a mister and a control valve, such as a solenoid, to restrict water flow in a water line to build up water pressure between the pump and the control valve to overcome the mister's cracking pressure. A water ozonation means is provided downstream from the ozonated water delivery means, and in communication with an inlet of the reservoir to recirculate water. This dispenser uses regular tap water and can be employed as an alternative to a sanitizing gel, or when use of a gel is not practical or desirable, such as for sanitizing fresh produce after its purchase.

  • Patent number: 7162961
Abstract: A system and process for dispensing a liquid agrochemical such as ammonia into a field is disclosed. The ammonia is placed in a vessel under sufficient pressure to maintain a substantial portion of the ammonia in a liquid form. From the pressurized vessel, the ammonia is fed to a distribution manifold where it is ultimately injected into a soil through a plurality of dispensing tubes. A constant pressure flow rate control device is placed at each dispensing tube for metering the amount of ammonia fed to the soil. Furthermore, the outlet flow of each constant pressure rate control device is made to vaporize nearby the inlet flow path to create a heat exchange effect thereby cooling the inlet flow. In particular, the flow control devices allow ammonia to be dispensed from the system while maintaining sufficient back pressure and temperature within the distribution manifold to maintain the ammonia in a liquid form.

Abstract: An agricultural boom is made up of two sections connected together, including an inner boom section and an outer boom section that are joined together with a hinge assembly in mid portions of the boom. The outer boom section is mounted to the inner boom with a linkage and control cylinder that provides for a knee action, that permits the outer boom section to be raised and lowered. The boom sections are both mounted about upright axes, and are supported against downward loads by separate pairs of cables that have ends joined at the base of the respective boom section at spaced points and connected to the outer or free ends of the respective boom sections at common points. The cables permit the boom sections to pivot about their respective upright axes with one of the cables carrying tension loads and causing the outer or free ends of the boom sections to raise while the other cable becomes slack.

  • Patent number: 6702201
Abstract: An agricultural sprayer including an induction unit capable of occupying at least one transport position and at least one filling position. A movement of the induction unit automatically predisposes a water circuit of the sprayer with a view to preparing a treatment spray mix. To do this, movement of the induction unit causes the opening or closure of at least one valve of the water circuit.

Abstract: A sprayer switching control system includes toggle switch structure incorporated into the main control handle of the sprayer and toggling spray sections sequentially so that each section changes condition in turn as the switch structure is operated. A reset switch located adjacent the toggle switch structure is operable to reset all the sections to a preselected operating condition. A first switch toggles section condition sequentially in a first direction along the sprayer boom, while operating a second switch reverses the direction. Such toggle operation is simple and easy to learn, and can be implemented without removing the hand from the control handle. To accommodate special skip patterns and shut off unused boom sections, individual section control switches mounted away from the handle to avoid handle clutter permit selective disabling any one or more of the spray sections.

  • Patent number: 6644562
Abstract: A dynamic counterweight mechanism for one-sided sprayers is vertically fastened to a chassis of a conventional sprayer with a fixed frame (3) so as to move up and down in relation to the frame (3). The mechanism includes a sliding frame (20) that laterally sustains a counterweight module (30). A swinging module (40) is pivotally assembled on the opposite side (23) of the sliding frame (20) and rotates around a bearing (24, 43) and in relation to the sliding frame (20). The upper end of the swinging module (40) is connected to the counterweight module (30) by a steel cable (33), which, in turn, has a counterweight block (32) that moves up and down, due to displacement of the swinging module (40). The steel cable (33) extends through a set of sheaves (50, 51, 52, 53) between the swinging module (40) and the sliding frame (20).

Abstract: An improved liquid fertilizer distribution manifold operating in two stages. An accumulator piston located above the primary and secondary ports provides for two stages of flow. A broad range of regulated flow for site-specific farming results in precise, accurate and timely application of liquid fertilizer and pesticides. An elevated piston seal flange in the manifold allows flow to be exact with plugged or partially plugged primary orifices. Manifolds are produced in single tier and double tier arrangements to improve efficiency. The same manifold can be applied to NH3 pressure increasing systems. Abstract: A fluid sprayer system using a modulated hydraulic control valve and a positive displacement pump to control the amount of fluid sprayed by the system. The modulated hydraulic control valve may be controlled using pulse width modulation and may be provided with a substantially constant source of hydraulic fluid. The pulse width modulated hydraulic control valve provides the hydraulic fluid to a hydraulic motor as a controlled flow. The controlled flow serves to control the hydraulic motor that controls a positive displacement pump. The position displacement pump is used to control the amount of fluid sprayed by the system. The control system changes the signal to the control valve so as to mitigate pressure changes otherwise caused by said positive displacement pump.

  • Publication number: 20030052188
Abstract: A hydraulic actuator is provided for controlling relative movement between first and second structures between which the actuator is mounted, for example between a boom and the base frame of an agricultural sprayer, while providing some resilience in the form of suspension. The actuator comprises a piston cylinder having a floating cushion piston supported within the cylinder end to support the piston within the cylinder in a retracted position at a prescribed spacing from the cylinder end. The piston can thus be deflected from the retracted position in either direction using a pressure relief mechanism so as to provide some flexibility to the actuator to accommodate the varying forces between the pair of relatively movable structures between which the actuator is mounted. The cushion piston requires no additional electrical switches or controllers and can be part of the hydraulic circuitry of the actuator so as to provide a simple, low cost actuator with integral suspension.
