With Retrieval Facilitating Means Patents (Class 239/197)
  • Patent number: 4144898
Abstract: A tank cleaning machine which comprises a nozzle manifold having one or more nozzles, that can be fed into and retracted from a tank while rotating or oscillating while cleaning fluid is supplied from a hose so that jet cleaning streams are directed to only those areas inside the tank that require cleaning. A very important feature of this device is to be able to clean very long horizontal or high vertical tanks and have the nozzles move along the tank greatly reducing the distance that the jet cleaning streams must travel after leaving the nozzles resulting in greater impact scrubbing action and reducing the breaking up of the stream to give very high efficiency. The travel feature of the nozzle manifold also permits the addition of a mechanical scrubber, or scraper with a trip arm to allow removal of sludge as the manifold is removed from the tank.

  • Patent number: 4074856
Abstract: This greenhouse watering apparatus has a horizontal support member running centrally for the length of the greenhouse, suspended from above, as from the roof of the greenhouse. A carriage depends from the support member and has trolley wheels rolling along two opposite upper surface portions of the support member in such a way that the suspension of the support member does not interfere with back-and-forth movement of the carriage. A drive wheel moves the carriage along the support member, while a rotary hose reel supported by the carriage reels in or unreels a flexible hose as required. The hose is maximally reeled when the carriage is midway between the ends of the support member and is minimally reeled when the carriage is at either end. During reeling the reel is driven by a slip clutch, which slips during unreeling. A pair of booms, one on each side of the reel, extend out hroizontally, perpendicular to the support member, and each boom is provided with a series of spray nozzles.

  • Patent number: 4062493
Abstract: In a home fire extinguishing system, a garden hose is wound upon a reel mounted in a cabinet and is charged with water pressure from the house supply while wound on the reel. Water is fed to the reel through a rotary connector to a T-connector in the middle of the reel. Pipe sections extend from the side legs of the T-connector to the rotary connector and to a bearing mounted on the sidewall of the cabinet. The reel is thus rotatably mounted between the rotary connector and the bearing. Apertured round plates, which form the sides of the reel, are positioned over the pipe sections and are maintained in position on the pipe sections by means of bolts and a spacer positioned around the center leg of the T-connector.

  • Patent number: 3987963
Abstract: A high pressure fluid delivery system is disclosed in which a source of fluid is connected by a rotating mechanism to an elongated lance or a cleaning head each of which includes one or more outlet nozzles for providing a cleaning jet of fluid. The lance or spray head is rotated by the rotating mechanism to provide substantially complete cleaning of the inside of a tubular member. The rotating mechanism may also be connected between a hose reel and the fluid source to permit the payout of a hose from the reel to the fluid delivery apparatus of the system.

  • Patent number: 3984732
Abstract: A device for preventing the entanglement or wedging of paint, water or air hoses with the tires of a vehicle being worked on. Specifically, an elongated, longitudinally extendable hose guide adapted to be engaged with the body or frame of a motor vehicle and the ground so as to provide a guide for a hose thereby preventing said hose from engaging the tires of the vehicle and additionally to provide a path to ground for any static electrical charges that may build up on the surface of the vehicle to be painted thereby reducing any bubbles or swirls in metallic paint finishes, and further eliminating the attraction of dust by the electrical charges.

  • Patent number: 3966121
Abstract: A coilable downspout drain extension includes an elongated tube formed from two opposed tube portions fastened together by heat-sealed seams on the side edges. Second heat-sealed seams located inwardly of the first seams define channels for receiving spring strips which cause the extension to coil when not in use. A flexible sleeve formed from the tube portion and extending past the termination of the spring strips is easily connected to the downspout by a flexible strap and buckle.
