  • Patent number: 5685484
Abstract: A pressurized water toy providing a pressure actuated pulsator for shooting water in consecutive pulses. The pressure actuated pulsator includes expansible inlet and outlet tubing, a reservoir for the temporary retention of water, and a sphere-shaped obturator for temporarily blocking the flow of water through the outlet tubing. Flow of pressurized water into the expansible tubing expands and elongates the tubing and forces a seal to be formed by biasing the sphere-shaped obturator against a first end of the outlet tubing compressing a spring. A buildup of pressure behind the obturator causes the expansible tubing to expand and permit passage of the pressurized water around the obturator and into and through the nozzle. When the pressure behind the obturator drops below a certain level, the obturator again blocks the orifice into the outlet tubing causing a buildup of pressure there behind and the cycling of pulse of water flow continues.

  • Patent number: 5111993
Abstract: A water sprinkler is disclosed having a rotatable water driven nozzle member and a stationary spout for simultaneously discharging a twirling stream of water from the nozzle member and a pulsating stream from the spout. A chamber is provided within which a pulsating valve is rotatably mounted about its hollow stub shaft. The shaft is secured to the nozzle member for rotation therewith, and allows passage of water from a water inlet through the nozzle member. The stub shaft of the pulsating valve further has a laterally extending segmented plate for intermittently opening and closing the spout for allowing a pulsating stream of water to pass therethrough. The water sprinkler is further provided with one or more water outlets connectable to a hose or spray forming nozzle. A rotary valve is provided for selectively connecting the water inlet to a selected one of the chamber and water outlets. The outer housing of the water sprinkler is formed to simulate a colorful fire hydrant.

  • Patent number: 5062548
Abstract: A beverage dispensing system has a valve in a tap controlling dispensing of the beverage through a first passage from a second rigid or flexible container. Air, nitrogen (or other inert gas) or carbon dioxide gas from a passage is introduced into the beverage in the first passage during dispensing for development of a head of froth. The introduced gas flows under pressure (which is preferably adjustable) from the second passage and by way of a capilliary tube restrictor and a non return valve communicating with the tube into the beverage in the first passage. The non return valve has a resilient diaphragm which normally closes that valve and is displaceable under gas pressure to admit the gas to the beverage. A labyrinthine mixer is located in the first passage downstream of the position where the gas is introduced.

  • Patent number: 5029733
Abstract: A beverage dispensing system and distributing process with such a system has a flexible bag 1 containing the beverage which may have carbon dioxide dissolved therein. The beverage is drawn off through a pipe 3 (assisted by a pump 8) for dispensing through nozzle 5 having a tap 6. Carbon dioxide, nitrogen (or other inert gas) and/or air gases are introduced into the beverage through a passage 11 by way of a fixed orifice restrictor 12 and a non-return valve 13. The pressure of the gas which is introduced is adjustable at 14 and baffles 15 can provide turbulence in the beverage during dispensing to promote the dissolution of the introduced gas therein. The facility to introduce the gas or gases permits the beverage in the bag 1 to have a low content of carbon dioxide so that the bag collapses under atmospheric pressure while the beverage as dispensed is additionally gasified for the formation of a froth or head.

  • Patent number: 5022588
Abstract: A water toy has a cylindrical deflector mounted on top of an upright hollow pipe that is rotatable about a vertical axis. Pressurized water introduced into the pipe is ejected from a nozzle fluidly interconnected with the pipe wupwardly onto the deflector along a plane which is offset from the deflector axis. The stream of water from the nozzle causes the deflector to rotate which in turn causes water to be thrown off of the periphery of the deflector into an umbrella pattern. If the nozzle has a concentrated spray pattern the umbrella spray is thin and covers a relatively large diameter, and if the nozzle has a fan-shaped spray pattern the umbrella spray is thicker and covers a relatively smaller diameter.

  • Patent number: 4883692
Abstract: An aromatic decorative figure or other object formed of foam plastic material having dispersed throughout its cellular structure a relatively large amount of a volatile liquid fragrance. When the figure is exposed to the atmosphere, it continuously exudes the fragrance for a prolonged period, in the course of which the figure proceeds to shrink as a result of liquid loss, thereby indicating the approaching exhaustion of the fragrance. In one embodiment, the figure is created in situ by injecting a charge of a foam-forming mixture having the liquid fragrance dispersed therein into the cavity of a blister pack whose transparent blister is configured to assume the contours of the desired figure. The injected mixture expands within the cavity to form a figure which conforms to the contours of the blister and is cured therein. The resultant foam-plastic figure is effectively sealed within the pack to prevent the escape of fragrance, the pack also serving to display and protect the figure.
