  • Patent number: 5935657
Abstract: A multiple nozzle paint spraying system two separate banks of spray nozzles. One of the banks is vertically disposed, and the other bank is adjustable to be positioned either vertically or horizontally, the adjustable bank being positioned above the vertical bank. Both banks are supplied by paint from an airless pressurized source, and each individual bank has a shut-off valve to stop the flow of pressurized paint to that respective bank. The entire assembly is mounted on a rollable stand which has a pair of arms extending laterally outward. Wheels or castors are located at the end of the lateral arms which abut the base board or bottom of the wall being painted. During use, the painter merely activates the paint spray and pushes the apparatus along the wall. The lateral arms maintain the spray nozzles at a fixed distance from the wall, and a coat of paint can applied to the wall uniformly and quickly. When painting a wall, the adjustable bank is positioned vertically and both banks are used.

  • Patent number: 5890654
Abstract: An elongated pipe tower extends upwardly at an acute angle from vertical with snow making nozzles in an upper end portion of the tower. Supply connections are provided at the lower end of the tower for connection to remote sources of air under pressure for supplying air and water under pressure to the nozzles for discharge into ambient atmosphere for manufacturing snow in sub-freezing conditions. The upper end portion of the tower protrudes upwardly at an angle from the tower and the nozzles are positioned on the outer side of the tower upper end portion facing outwardly away from the tower and the tower base. The nozzles are positioned such that the combined resultant thrust of the suspended weight of the tower itself and the thrust of discharged air and water under pressure through the nozzles is caused to be in substantial alignment with the tower, thereby preventing application of undue stress on the tower and permitting the use of a lightweight pipe tower.

Abstract: A snowmaker mounting structure is described useful for attaching a snowmaking apparatus used at ski resort areas to a ski lift tower. The structure includes a generally horizontally extending boom having one end attached to an upper portion of the ski lift tower and an extending end having a snowmaker attached thereto. Control over the region of ski slopes being covered with artifically produced snow is provided by rotatably mounting the snowmaker to the end of the boom by employing a generally vertically oriented collar through which a central tubular post is inserted and rotatable therein. The water supply is conducted to one end of the post and a pair of turning cables are connected to the post which, through tension being applied to either one of the cables, causes the snowmaker to be rotated with the collar.
