Holder For Carrier Fluid Patents (Class 239/308)
  • Patent number: 4751994
Abstract: A coin-controlled atomizer dispensing system is actuated entirely by compressed air or gas. At the conclusion of an operating cycle a cylinder is charged with liquid to be dispensed. The next operating cycle is initiated by inserting a coin which momentarily opens an air valve. A charge of compressed air and a charge of liquid are simultaneously fed to an atomizer nozzle until the charge of liquid in the cylinder has been completely dispensed whereupon the compressed air is cut off and the cycle is terminated by re-charging the cylinder with the next charge of liquid to be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 4714196
Abstract: A fluid delivery system (10) is provided for delivering at least one chemical (26) onto a field in a desired concentration. A carrier fluid (67) is provided for diluting the farm chemical (26). The mixture is pumped through a spray boom (18) onto the field by a main fluid pump (74). The chemical (26) is delivered to the inlet port (76) of the main fluid pump (74) by a chemical pump (54). The chemical pump (54) is operated by a variable speed stepping motor (56). The speed of the stepping motor (56) is controlled by a speed sensing wheel (88) to provide a uniform concentration of chemical on the field independent of vehicle speed. The motor speed is also controlled by a thumbwheel switch (116) to deliver a desired concentration on the field compensating for drive vehicle wheel slippage. The motor speed is also adjusted to calibrate the delivery concentration to the nozzle pattern through calibration switches.

  • Patent number: 4431119
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a manually operated, self-cleaning, aerosol valve that is adapted to maintain separation of fluids while they are within the valve body. The valve is internally separated by a sealing gasket that cooperatively engages a valve seat, and an outwardly projecting discharge passageway stem member. When the valve is in a nonoperating state, engagement of the gasket with respect to the valve seat prevents discharge passage of a first fluid to the stem passageway, and engagement of the gasket with respect to the stem prevents discharge passage of a second fluid. In cofluid dispensing state, first and second ports into the stem discharge passageway are positioned on opposite sides of the gasket. This allows first and second fluids to separately enter the stem passageway, and maintains separation of fluids awaiting discharge. When the valve is operated in positions intermediate the shut and cofluid dispensing state, both first and second fluid ports are positioned to receive first fluid only.

  • Patent number: 4200204
Abstract: A container for storing and dispensing a liquid product includes a pump operated by a reciprocable control member and associated with a pneumatic servo system. The actuation is achieved by supply of gas pressure, for example, from a reservoir of gas at a pressure of the order of 5 bars, and this is used to actuate the control member of the pump, for example a stepped piston incorporating a pressure multiplying effect. Much higher operating forces on the reciprocable control member can be achieved with this system than were possible by purely manual operation of the valve control member.

  • Patent number: 4121767
Abstract: A mobile agricultural sprayer having a control system for controlling the amount of chemical additive added to a water stream from a mobile storage tank in response to a chemical additive concentration detector is disclosed. The mobile sprayer utilizes a mobile water storage tank and at least one chemical additive tank which communicates with the water to be sprayed at a point between the tank and the sprinkler heads. A pump draws water from the storage tank and directs it under pressure to the sprinkler heads. The chemical additive is typically added in liquid form, such as a solution or a slurry, at a point preferably upstream of the pump inlet while concentration is measured at a point between the point of addition of the chemicals and the sprinkler heads and preferably before the inlet of the pump. The concentration detector transmits information to a monitor which controls the amount of chemical introduced into the water to be sprayed.

  • Patent number: 4087048
Abstract: A spraying apparatus utilizes pressurized gas to spray liquid contained in a large replaceable or refillable cartridge. The cartridge is positioned within a casing which provides a pressure chamber, and a source of pressurized gas is attached to the casing to pressurize the chamber. The top of the cartridge communicates with the chamber so that the liquid is also pressurized. A tube extends from above the level of the liquid in the cartridge to the bottom of the cartridge and is attached to a valve. An opening is provided in the tube adjacent to the bottom of the cartridge, and the diameter of the tube is reduced above the opening to restrict the flow of gas through the tube and to create a pressure differential in the tube. When the valve is open, pressurized gas flows through the tube, and, since the pressure of the gas inside the tube at the opening is less than the pressure of the liquid, liquid flows through the opening, mixes with the gas within the tube, and flows through the valve.

The adapter includes a depending, elongated heat exchanger tube or trap which is closed at its lower end and which extends almost to the bottom of the tank for direct heat exchange contact with the liquid contained in the tank. The vaporized propellant then passes under relatively high pressure outwardly through a comparatively small opening in the upper end of the heat exchanger tube into the ullage of the tank to pressurize the column of spray liquid in the tank and thereby insure its forcible discharge from the outlet of the spray tank.
