  • Patent number: 7966785
Abstract: A laminated window assembly for a device, such as a handheld electronic device (e.g., a media player or mobile telephone), includes a window layer that preferably is glass, and a larger, substantially transparent lip-forming layer to which it is laminated, preferably by a substantially clear adhesive. Additional adhesive preferably is placed at at least portions of the edge of the window layer adjacent the lip-forming layer, especially at the corners, to resist delamination. Holes preferably are formed in the lip—e.g., at the corners—to resist the lip-forming layer peeling apart from the window layer forming layer. • Patent number: 7455248
Abstract: A pistol-shaped powder delivery device consolidates propellant pulse creation, powder storage, powder aerosolization and aerolsolized powdered delivery in a single device while providing dose, pattern and coverage control of the output spray. The single-hand-held, single-hand-operated device includes a housing having a handle portion that is selectively collapsed to generate a propellant pulse that is conveyed into and through powder stored in a reservoir mounted at an upward angle to the horizontal in a receptacle provided in the housing. Powder in the reservoir is caused to be aerosolized by the propellant pulse whereupon aerosolized powder exits the reservoir through an open end of, and elongate slots provided in the sidewall of, an elongate hollow member extending from an outlet in the receptacle through the stored powdered material into a head space in the reservoir. The outlet is connected a barrel portion for output of the aerosolized powder spray.

A manual trigger sequentially controls an electric switch for the motor and a needle valve for the discharge nozzle such that the motor and compressor are started before liquid is admitted to the nozzle, and are operated after liquid flow to the nozzle has been terminated. A diaphragm-type inlet check valve communicates with a pressure chamber of variable size forming a part of the air compressor, a second diaphragm providing both the movable wall of the pressure chamber as well as the movable element of an outlet check valve built therein which conducts pressurized air into the pressurized portion of the casing, passing across the motor enroute to the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4088248
Abstract: A two-piece flexible bulb is clamped on the open upper end of a container by a ferrule which seals against the upper section of the bulb. A dispenser head mounted on a pressure pad on the upper bulb section includes a bayonet valve stem which engages a flap-type outlet valve formed on the upper bulb section. Depressing the head sufficiently distorts the bulb which creates pressure in the chamber, and also compresses the pressure pad which permits the valve stem to open the outlet valve. Depressing the upper bulb section breaks the seal between the bulb and the ferrule, thus, allowing air into the container to replace the product which is sucked into the chamber through a flap-type check valve in the lower bulb section, after the dispenser head is released. In alternate arrangements, the flap valves are replaced by flexible valve openings which cooperate with valve stems to open the valves when the bulbs are distorted by depressing the dispenser heads.
